Shanghai Fried Dumpling

It’s been a long time since I’ve had authentic pan-fried buns! The outside is soft and the bottom is fried to a crispy texture. Juice squirts out as soon as you bite into it, and the meat filling is also well seasoned! The price is quite affordable, and you’ll be full after eating three or four of them!

Great tasting chicken and black bean stir fry. Only issue is that they don't seem to pick up the phone so you have to order online or in person.

Disgusting. Poor customer service, cashier had a whole finger up her nose while serving customers.

The service you receive here is abysmal, especially the guy with curly hair. He gives you a face and a look when you ask for something.

Im terms of food, the handmade dumplings were what sets them apart from others, but now even the dumplings quality have down down. The wrap is just too thick.

I hardly dine in this restaurant - mainly because of extremely poor service.

I placed an order for pan-fried beef dumplings; however, my order ended up being served to another customer who had requested pork dumplings. Rather than remaking the correct order of beef dumplings, they refunded in cash, leaving me with no choice but to leave hungry and dissatisfied.

This place is a hidden gem in Wolli Creek! The pork pun is so delicious, so as the pork belly, sweet n sour chicken, and many other stir fries. The flavours are amazing. Chef Joe’s food is so tasty, feeling like eating at home. ️ Steve and everyone are super friendly. Can’t be better! Wish for more restaurants like here!

Great service and dumplings. The dumplings were a little pricey but the rest of the dishes were great value for money.

This is a great place to have authentic, Chinese food. While service is similar/reminiscent of other Chinese establishments, these guys really listen to what you want and deliver on it, eg when we asked for the food to have less oil and salt, they actually did it. Not only that, the next time we came back (and subsequent times after that) they have remembered what we prefer and have consistently cooked food accordingly. Typically Chinese establishments don’t really pay attention to special requests but these guys did, not just once but every time! Food is great quality, service is great and the price point is very reasonable - That’s why we go back. Keep up the great work guys!

When this restaurant opened, it was reasonable and freshly cooked food in order. We got pre-cooked pan fried pork buns sit on stove this time, taste wasn't bad but not hot like freshly cooked. Also mysterious open food charge on my receipt. Very disappointed.

We were really impressed! The Horfan dish had a beautiful wok flavour, and the dumplings were excellent. We hadn’t been there for a while and it looked like a new menu. Fantastic service, the lady was really friendly. Great value for money, will definitely be coming back.

The lady around 50 ages work this morning is very rude. I asked this lady how long the wonton take, she told me 3mins, but after 10 mins, she is still doing other things and did not cook my wonton so I asked for refund. Since I need to go to work, I don’t have that much time to wait. I understand the wonton will take longer to cook, but she told me 3 mins so I ordered it. When I said I need to refund, she took me to wait very rudely, I am almost late for work, I asked can u refund me directly. She said I am so annoying by using mandarin, and give me so much coins to refund, I paid by card. The customer service is very bad! I hope the manager can take this problem seriously.

Most delicious Deep-fried pork Buns! Get the best of both crisp and soft bun and delicious juicy pork filling travelling by train - easy as takeaway! Made fresh - still warm when I bring it home to treat the family!

I had vegetarian dumplings from here. That along with a red bean moon cake. The moon cake was ok. The dumplings were simply edible. I wouldn't seek out to buy them again unless I was absolutely famished. This is only for vegetarian dumplings.

They are so busy at morning and lunch time. But i will Keep eating for three days cause these foods i ordered are real Shanghai taste.

Cold buns, they chucked all the buns into a big plastic bag together like how they treated rubbish. They even picked up the buns with bare hands. Disgusting….

God bless us not to have diarrhoea tonight.

Traditional shanghai taste resturant, shengjian bao & xiaolong bao are the best! Lots nice small dishes!

I honestly have no idea why this place has below 4 stars. The dumplings were the best I’ve had in a long time and so cheap! $32 for 16 dumplings plus 2 steamed pork buns (my daughter said best ever) plus drinks. And the staff were so lovely, really friendly and great at helping us to decide what to have. And the chilli oil! We’ll definitely be back.
