Thank you to SDS Australia, Ben has been extremely helpful in providing advice which helped us build our own sauna and the Harvia wood stove has worked beyond expectations! Highly recommend SDS and Ben.

I was researching sauna information like insulation, type of timber thickness of cedar, heater size, door handle, vents, bench sizes etc. I spent hours doing all the research and finally came across SDS. I wish I’d come across them sooner. I spoke to Ben who knew his stuff and would’ve saved me hours of research. Ben gave me great advice and I’ve ended up with an amazing sauna. Photos don’t do it justice. The info I received from SDS was far more comprehensive than any other provider I came across - and I contacted a lot!

The attention to detail during the installation process was next level. Tony showed care and was treating the process as if it was his own sauna. I knew I was in safe hands when I saw how detailed he was. Tony used additional material (they didn’t charge me for) to make sure the finish was of the highest level of quality.

Can’t recommend these guys enough. Ben visited me onsite on a number of occasions to ensure I was happy. To say I’m stoked is an understatement.

I have just had my SDS Sauna put in. It’s an exterior model. I have to say that the guys were very helpful and pleased to build my sauna to my specs. When you select SDS to build for you, your going to get a professionally built job I studied the market for some time and found that some of the suppliers of saunas aren’t what they seem, offering cheap saunas to capture the market. These should be avoided as they are mostly flat pack products that are single walled and lose heat quickly increasing your power bills heaps. They have poor quality timbers with flaws and the suppliers have terrible after sales service. SDS Saunas are double walled and insulated to keep their temperature. The timber used is hand sorted and any faults are rejected. Don’t get ripped off. The guys truly build an outstanding product that will last for many years to come. Now I’m going out to have a sauna and relax. Thank guys for my sauna

Alex and his team (Another Alex and Kiril) are absolutely amazing! They built a public sauna for us (@bmsauna) in the Blue Mountains! VERY knowledgeable, super friendly and just incredibly capable human beings. They thought of little things that we completely missed and suggested the best design for our space. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Alex was very professional throughout the design to build phases. We were extremely happy with the final build quality. The sauna was custom built to fit our boat shed and included design features that showed off the existing boat wench and tracks. It was built on time, within budget and to a very impressive quality.

Engaging Alex was a pleasant experience. I have opted for a log timber sauna with fire wood stove. Couple of Alex’s suggestions were incorporated into the final product which I am really happy with. His no-nonsense approach, great attitude, and skills materialised themselves in a form of a fantastic sauna. The sauna was built back in June last year so I have been using it ever since and can say all but good things about the craftsmanship. Log timber being a natural material takes time to settle. There was a minor issue with a front door after few months. I have contacted Alex and he was back on-site to fix the problem. No issue ever since. It wasn’t just a great initial experience but I am happy to report that fixing this minor issue was a breeze with a no-fuss approach. It is great to see someone who stands behind his craftsmanship. Overall I can give 5 out of 5 for craftsmanship, 5 out of 5 for engagement, 5 out of 5 for value for money, and 5 out of 5 for service. Highly recommended.

I was thinking about getting sauna for quite some time. At last I decided to look at the market on the available options. From the start SDS Australia appeared as one of the top options on the market. After close consideration and communications with the owner, I decided to go with Alex’s SDS Australia sauna, and I was not disappointed.
Alex’s recommendations on sauna material, structure and configuration were very valuable. He also readily accommodated my personal preferences such as heater type, door type and small design changes.
He constantly kept me informed about progress during whole sauna building process.

After researching a variety of saunas I had initially settled on buying a prefabricated, self assemble sauna from a reputable Sydney company who import their kits from SE Asia. I then found SDS, a local company specialising in custom builds at an all inclusive price comparable to a good quality import. As other testimonials attest, Alex exceeded our expectations. After surveying our site, making recommendations & doing the preliminary work at his factory, Alex & his wonderful offsider, Kirill, completed the sauna on site in 2 days & we were using it the evening they finished (haven't missed a sauna evening since). Regarding build quality, Francis of Assisi said, "He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist. ” That being the case, SDS are the Rembrandt of saunas.

Having a professional sauna custom built in my house as been a life long dream of mine. As a naturopathic doctor, I understand the importance of improving the body's circulation and proper detoxification. I did my research before coming across the SDS website and was I instantly impressed with their photo gallery. Alex and Slava drove the eight hours up to the northern rivers area and installed my beautiful sauna. At first they thought they could get it all done in one day but it turned out a bigger job. Knowing they had a long drive back, at no time did they rush the job and continued with their attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. I am so grateful to have made the right decision with SDS and highly recommend their service to anyone who doesn't want cheaply made imports.

We fell in love with saunas during a trip to Finland last year where you slowly soak up the heat in the family sauna, then plunge into a cold lake, and repeat (several times).
Alex of SDS Australia helped design our sauna so we too can experience the heat and aroma (the smell of warm Spruce is great) of an authentic sauna and quickly plunge into our pool anytime of year including mid-winter. The quality of the factory-build is superb including beautifully finished benches and a solid door with windows.
We opted for an electric heater (Harvia was even recommended by Finnish friends!) and it truly heats up quickly.
We are so happy with the quality and service provided by SDS Australia.
