Sawtell RSL Club

We went for a last minute, late lunch while out sightseeing. Our group of 12 were welcomed at the door by a lovely lady and served by a happy and helpful young girl. The serving sizes of both the kids and main meals were great value for money. We all left feeling very satisfied and extremely full. If we’re ever back in town we will most definitely be stopping in for a meal.

Front desk was pretty rude when 8 of us wanted to sign up as members.
Try the bowlo instead.

Lovely welcoming building. Good food and coffee. Parking behind which is handy. The Street scape outside is wonderful. Fig trees adorn the street and the many cafes and shops make for a relaxing and enjoyable walk after leaving the RSL.

Ordered the seafood platter for 2. Was meant to be fresh seafood, oysters brown and sticky, prawns room temperature and bland.
Deep fried stuff was ok

Bistro is great here and the service is excellent. The specials board is always a treat and in particular the curry which always has a vegetarian option.

The cafe is a disaster. The bistro provides large numbers of meals efficiently. The cafe takes ages to service a very few customers. Our experience is that you ALWAYS have to follow up your order. Best thing would be to put the cafe under bistro management or at least remove all cooking from the cafe.

Was there, on a Friday night, the place was buzzing. An excellent roast dinner and a drink made a great night.

Popped in as a visitor for a quiet GnT with a friend - very helpful and friendly staff (all of whom recommended the $16.50 steak n ribs deal on later in the evening!), very clean, comfortable AC, nice n quiet, not overly crowded.ordered good ol' wedges, chilli and sour cream - not too long later a generous bowl of pretty delicious (double fried?) Wedges appeared.and that GnT was pretty decent as well - liked the vibe enough to return and become a member -me? A member of an RSL? Something I'd never imagined -so, consequently, in the words of the former California Govenor "I'll be back! "
I'd throw another half a star at it but a few too many screens (which kind-of can't be avoided), pretty 'lifeless' decor and furnishings (hey guys -its the 21st century.you can do better!) but an excellent snooker area and thankfully the slots are well away. Now, as a member I'll be checking the exercise classes and maybe that Thursday steak n ribs thing and who knows what else my Club has on offer.hehehe.

Horrible experience havent seen my Grandmother for two years thought would treat her as been awhile even if it is an RSL. Really ruined my last night with her, just really disappointed, Told minimum 1hr wait for steak and rib special, either because they are understaffed, cook can't be bothered or they are just hoping you'll pay more cause of their roast is ready now, more than likely dry as sitting In a bainmarrie for who knows how long. Plus get smirks from the staff when I say that's really unacceptable. Highly disrespectful and just poor form in general. I worked in the pub hospitality industry for 6 years. I seen straight through all tricks (you guys know). To be honest if you do read this, hopefully you will heed my warning. MANAGEMENT TAKE NOTICE. Quite sad really, and from other reviews ive seen its becoming quite common by the looks of it P. S ended up going to KFC she loved it

Go there often great club not really family friendly and food can be hit n miss but saying that I'm a regular

Joined after thinking about it for awhile.glad I did.full size pool tables, dart boards and lots of food eateries available.
Oh.good pricing all round!

A complete opposite of a review 4 years ago- "The food is delicious, friendly helpful staff. Incredibly clean. " - I was thinking business must be good if you are happy to treat customers with such poor "couldnt care less" service and still make money! Spent $60 on two mediocre meals - poor value for money. Cannot recommend.

Great place, great food/drinks and great atmosphere. The "Sawtie" also has great entertainment on offer from local talent to big name entertainers.

Seems to be a very popular venue, at least on curry night! Don't know if the long queue was made up mainly of locals or visitors but we were glad we got in early. We both enjoyed our grilled Barramundi. It was moist and tender unfortunately, the side salad left a bit to be desired. Having visited once before and enjoyed a delicious Asian style salad I was happy to try again.

Mini casino full of sad gambling people, no one is having actual fun. It's depressing.

Lovely club with friendly atmosphere. Cold beers and ample food choices. I liked it. My mate ordered a Mixed Grill.now that was something else?

Nice fresh feeling club. Well set out. Excellent staff. Nice cold beer and excellent food. Highly recommended

What a great place to call in for lunch on Father’s Day. We had delicious meals and at great prices. The service was great and we were greeted by a friendly and helpful lady upon our arrival. Yes would definitely recommend here and will definitely be visiting again.

Coffee shop no lunch to choose from. Only coffee or cake.
Buffet ok. Bread rolls cold.
Disappointed.
