7 Netty. Was. Here. Newly renamed the Taylor’s Bond Store & Cafe is a spot where you can get a great tasting coffee and lite meal. Then wander through a local artist gallery and store upstairs.
The menu has been downsized to simplify things with Turkish Toasties, seasonal Salads that change regularly and delectable Cakes.
A change is as good as a rest, Barry & Bridget are doing their best to rejuvenate the building and the use of space inside. With plans to run art classes in the future.
The selection of items upstairs are creative, crafty and one of a kind. As they like to source local artists to display and sell their artwork.
I very much enjoyed my coffee and wander around. The cafe owners and some of the locals out front are incredibly friendly and down for a chat. Thanks for the good morning coffee!
Had morning tea here, aloverly setting on the Hunter River. It was well worth the visit and the coffee was great.
Disappointing. Came for the usual excellent brunch but ended up with coffees and left. The complete change of the menu to one which is very bland and uninteresting (change in chef?), decor change is very simple but “ho-hum”, so sadly it really doesn’t encourage a return visit to what once was a twice-a-week outing for this local family of six and regular international guests for brunch. Will try again in six months perhaps and happy to revisit review if above has improved. Incidentally, people with very elderly family members, who can’t walk long distances, do like to make bookings so they’re not made to walk for extended distances un-necessarily.
Wow, your curt response to constructive feedback says it all.
We don’t eat “fried” foods, but meals like a decent Eggs Ben.et al.
As you have suggested, there is a plethora of other local dine-in businesses (not a fast-food “takeaway” outlet as you’ve suggested) which will offer the type of appetizing meals and service we are after and who appreciate their local regulars. Thank you anyway.
Ordered a latte with almond milk was pretty good. Nice place liked the way it was designed. Would definitely ordered some fold next time as the menu had lots of options and it was popular with lots of people eating the food.
The makeover is truly refreshing, open and relaxing. The art on the walls are also very memorable. The food is great but not many vegetarian friendly options on the new menu from when I went last month, unsure if its been updated.
Good was very good for the price and the view that you get of the Morpth bridge. The scones was very nice and looked home made
I had lunch here today. The coffee was fantastic. The meals were so good. Cooked on the premises fresh and generous size servings. Wait staff very friendly. I cannot wait to go back and try something else from the menu. I highly recommend this place
