Beautiful chilled atmosphere, bohemian vibe, stunning secondhand bookshop that can really throw up some gems even if prices are on the steepside. Sapphos recently got taken over from the previous owners who had run it for decades. Sadly the food and service in the cafe has declined since then. Portions are a bit mean, quality is not what it was, though you can get lucky. Service is indifferent.food arrived before drinks. Fritters weren’t hot, no apology, that kinda thing.

Great little bookstore… sadly no longer with a room of records, but otherwise always a joy to visit. Great cafe as well!

There are a lot of used books that you can browse or purchase. After purchasing a book, it's nice to have a cup of coffee at the cafe right next door. In Australia, long black is used everywhere. I think it's because I'm used to Korean Americano.

Food has always been good and I've been going to Sapphos for over 5 years. They serve Toby's Estate beans which is nice. Great atmosphere and they have board games like chess to incorporate into your social time which I like. I would definitely describe myself as a loyal customer. Their selection of books is always interesting.

The best place ever! Feels like another world, with cute decor, endless books at second hand prices and a cozy menu to suit the cozy courtyard cafe. Full of likeminded friendly customers and staff:)

11/10 for the sneaky little backyard bar and the most amazing open mic night. Will be back for more!

What a vibe

The cutest book shop and bar. Side street takes you to the bar and dining, dim lights and cute environment.
I highly recommend it.

The books! The food! Everything was to die for! The cosy, 3 level trendy cafe is my new favourite place!

I go there for the cheap books on philosophy but you'll be amazed by how much they have for so cheap. Find also records and a cozy café there!

This is a one of a kind place for book lovers, coffee lovers and cat lovers alike! It has so many vintage and pre-loved books for both kids and adults to enjoy. There’s also vinyl records and music books upstairs, for those who appreciate music. The star of this place is really Charlie, the bookstore cat. Say hi to Charlie and pet him for a wholesome day.

Loved that there was an outdoor eating option, perfect for covid safe coffee catch ups. Very cool interiors with lots of hidden surprises. Really appreciated that the staff were wearing masks.
Good tummeric latte and it's great that they have an entirely vegan menu for those who are after animal friendly options.

The pros:
The place has a cool vibe, very spacious with lots of seats. Seeing the fluffy resident cat was delightful.

The cons:
We waited 30 mins for the food (to be fair it was during the busy period between Christmas and New year's). The ham and cheese was good, satisfying, nothing out of the ordinary, but the Mexican breakfast was underwhelming. The iced botanical drink was also kind of strange, wouldn't recommend it.

Great to find a vegan menu and such delicious food too. Sat outside in the back yard. We will certainly go again and try something else from the vegan menu.

A book store & cafe.
Thus place is different.not expensive with overblown 'froth and bubble' followed by average food and average service.
I had a pot of tea and bircher. The bircher was so fresh, fresh squeezed orange juice in a milk cup, oats with fruit and nuts, yoghurt with a mint leaf garnish, rhubarb berry compote and only $15. The service was good, friendly staff, a place to read and relax, enjoy a bean or browse/buy a book.

Genuinely my favourite place in all of Sydney- the books and records are great, the staff are lovely, the cafe is good, and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. Can’t recommend it enough
