Rydges Sydney Central reviews
43I stayed here for a few nights, it was pretty nice. The location is near a bunch of places like 7/11. The service was great and the staff were friendly. The room was nice but it wasn't cleaned completely as the trash bin wasn't emptied. Overall, the room was nice! Would visit again.
When I arrived it was great check in but My room was musty and I got a sore throat plus’s my room didn’t get cleaned the second day and we left at 9: 00 am to 4: 00 pm thinking our room would get cleaned we left the tag on the door two don’t stay
We usually stayed in rydges world square 3 Times a year as bussiness trip before and met Ali very helpfull staff there but he moved to rydges central already and then we tried to stayed in rydges central, amazingly the room was good, clean, and tidy. The bed persentation was perfect, Friendly staff. We didn't get any problem there. We would love to recommend this hotel to our friends.
I was staying in Rydges central just couple weeks ago with my family and we love the room.it was perfectly clean and well maintained in a great location and friendly staffs.
I definitely come back to stay there again whenever I visit Sydney.
A great hotel close to Central Station. The staffs are so attentive and ready to help. The room smells great, beds are so comfy and soft. Overall we had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend staying here.
Stayed Friday night. Great staff, rooms spacious and clean bed’s ultra comfortable. Restaurant great couldn’t be more helpful. Bar great atmosphere. Can’t wait till I have an excuse to return. Highly recommended. Julie
I really looked forward to stay here
But it was Not that clean and I could hear some noise from next doors and beyond the door,
Room looks nice but little bit disappointed about that
Rooms were compact and service was fine. Location is near central station. Not safe area after hours if by yourself or with kids.
Lovely hotel. Convenient location a few minutes walk to central. Fish pond at lobby in amazing
We were forced into an extended stay due to a COVID outbreak in Aussie, Nick and the team here did everything they could to ensure we were looked after and had what we needed. Could not more highly commend them to to.
Overall it was an ok experience, however the aircon was a bit too loud, the bed wasn't too comfortable (uneven mattress sloping to the side) and the pillows were a bit meh but I guess every room is different.
Great stay! Very convenient with the Sydney Brewery next door that has happy hour from 4 - 6pm each day with $5 schooners and wine and they also have $10 cocktails between 7 - 9pm each day. They need to ditch the buffet breakfast in these Covid times though. Ordering fresh would be much better.
Nice place to stay and centrally located.
Clean rooms, although I did have the previous occupants items in the fridge and coat in the cupboard. I forgot to mention it to reception.
Currently doing a course in one of their conference rooms, very well equipped, Great working Air Con and very centrally located to cafes, restaurants and convenience stores.
As well as public transport.
This is a bit of a regular watering hole for me and a few mates, but the water is actually made of beer. Not your usual beers on tap, although I have no idea what they are other than tasty.
Booked 2 rooms with our friends, arrived for check in at 1: 40pm. Got told only one room was ready so we needed to wait. It’s now 4: 20pm, and our room is still not ready when the hotel checkin policy is 2pm? !? We have dinner plans at 5pm and our plans have now been delayed because we can’t unpack shower and get dressed. Have called reception multiple times and I get told that they’re checking up on our room. We are forced to sit with our friends in their room and invade their personal space because our room is still not ready over 2 hours later.
Great location, good rooms, good rate, expensive and tight parking compared to other similar venues.
Pleasant enough. Clean. Good breakfast. Good dinner at the bar next door which is accessed from Level 1 through the dining room.
Booked a room direct through Rydges website and we were allocated a very basic room for our $238. Our first room was next door to the lift and was very noisy. After contacting Reception, staff moved us to another room, but this was adjacent to a noisy street and the windows were not soundproofed. We should have been informed at the time of booking that this level of tariff would only give us rooms that otherwise would be difficult to sell. Hotel is in a good location, close to Central station and a short walk to good restaurants in Surry Hills. Breakfast was the standard buffet and the service was good. Reception staff were efficient and helpful.
Cons:
1. My bathroom had hair on it from the last tenant. Pretty gross and really turned me off.
2. The rug had lumps in it that caused me to trip almost constantly. Seems like an extreme hazard and I’m honestly surprised someone hasn’t hurt themself yet.
3. Upon checking into the hotel I couldn’t hear the woman at the front desk. I replied many times “I can’t hear you” and she continued to whisper, which made the check in process extremely frustrating.
4. The shower only had some weird half glass wall to keep water in the shower, which means water actually ended up on the floor quite a bit. There was also plenty of mold in the grout in the shower which made for a pretty disgusting experience.
5. I found a water heater for tea/coffee in the room, but no tea or coffee with it. Seems like a scheme to get you to buy their breakfast package with your room.
Pros:
1. Right next to Sydney brewery, which has a great happy hour and good beer.
