A Person named ‘Duncan pretending to be a nurse’ in Ryde Community Mental Health’ assessing people and calling them at home, pretending there is an appointment for them.
The staff, and I include administrative staff and mental health professionals, seem somewhat oblivious to the Statement of Core Values hanging next to reception. As the spouse of a patient at this MH Centre I am intrigued at the lack of interpersonal skills of many staff, lack of attention to detail and failure to follow up on what they might suggest.
Reception is the first point of contact at any organisation. It creates an impression. Walking into Ryde MH and feeling like an intruder is not an experience I enjoy but will do to facilitate the recovery of my spouse under the public mental health system.
A smile costs nothing.
