Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron reviews
26 Attended for one-off pre-Christmas dinner, for the second year running, and as for the first time, the venue was absolutely brilliant!
Situated right on the harbour-shore at Kirribilli, the views of the harbour, its traffic, and the surrounding twin CBDs of Sydney City and North Sydney are beautiful, the club itself is elegant and redolent of bygone eras, with both inside and outside areas, the food and drinks are toward the "top-notch", and the tending staff are friendly, efficient, highly proficient and suitably discreet as they go about their duties!
It's a private club, though, with private club rules, and ways.not open to the general public, just to Members and Members' Guests, Dress Code, reasonable but Dress Code nevertheless, and some Security check-points to restrict ingress by the Great Unwashed Masses - still, if you're paying the kind of Members' Dues that a place like this commands, you kind of expect all that, don't you?
This Review is solely targeted at those who get invited there as Members' Guests.the Members already know its value and values and the general public don't get in! If you DO happen to get invited to a soiree there, I reckon you can expect to enjoy yourself, well, apart from navigating the narrow Kirribilli street-maze and finding on-street parking.but the club DOES have on-site parking so that's the best option if it has been included within the event package.
In all, though, a pleasant place to enjoy an afternoon or evening event if you have gotten the chance!
Location location location, simply amazing. Filled with happy diners enjoying the food and the view. It was a Sunday and regatta of little sailing boats flittd back and forth near the dock. The grounds and the location are simply beautiful and if you can get to see it, do so
Can't beat this Harbour side venue for beautiful Friday lunch. Update - 2/23 another very good lunch. Location is excellent
Beautiful club, but parking is difficult and beware of all the one way streets, it's a landmine
Great private sailing club on the Harbour. Accommodation for visiting sailors and easy access to city via Kirribilli ferry.
The food was excellent. The service also.
The view is magnificent and the patrons are a friendly bunch.
I remain a patient son of poverty and so I am not a member but I have had some wonderful experiences there.
My local sailing club. Fantastic facilities and harbour views to go with it. World class one design Etchells fleet. Small Yngling fleet.
I attended a dinner at what must be one of Sydney's best views. The food was excellent and the service could not be faulted. A trio played a great range of songs predominantly form the 60's, and everyone was dancing. Unexpected and most pleasing. It is nice to attend a venue that doesn't try to bustle you out after 2 hours
I've wanted to learn to sail for years. So I enrolled in a start crewing course.
It was a brilliant experience, truly special. Standout instructors were Karyn, as well as Zac. He had a lot of patience and created a safe environment to ask questions. Another great instructor has a unique name but I forgot it, he developed the app 2sail.
Loved the course. Can't wait to sail again later this year
This sailing club is stunning and so nice. Members only and it does feel very exclusive. I sail on a member's boat here and I have always has a great experience when coming here. The tender service is very fast and there staff are very safe. The food and drinks are out this world. If you ever get a chance to go here, go. It's a stunning spot and a great experience.
If you are into Yachting then this place has all you need. One of the oldest in Australia with great heritage and a passionate group of sailors who enjoy the racing and competition. The Yngling divisions are a good place to start if you are new to sailing as you learn lot very directly.
Very surprised only staff wore masks - no patrons, even when nit actively eating & drinking! Nor when queuing for food or drinks
Location is super great. Good food and high quality.staff are friendly and helpful. A great place to visit.
Menu is pared down but there is something for everyone and flavours are the priority. Staff are absolutely devine and service is their focus. Will continue to support a very deserving club. Views of the harbour is just the icing on the cake.
While I was walking around Kirribilli, I stumbled across the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. What an excellent facility. Along the walkway down to the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron you'll see the 1880s ship's anchor that was removed from Sydney Harbour in the 1950s. A whale's jaw and some historic canons are located on the shoreline near the boat harbour. Some excellent views of Garden Island, Neutral Bay, Cremorne and Mosman.
What a great venue. Tucked away in Kirribilli. Fantastic conference rooms. Beautiful outdoor dining over the harbour.
Service from conference staff supplied quality food and beverages all day.
Beautiful conference rooms.
Beautiful views
No mobile phones inside
It is a private club so respect the code.
All facilities kept clean.
1st time there very impressed.
Beautiful wedding, the staff were fabulous for putting up with us and the food was divine. Thank you to all
Love love this place, great views, excellent food, immaculate service.
Wonderful wedding venue!
I didn't go inside, straight around the back to the deck iver looking the harbour. Great views! I had the calamari which is up there with some of the best I've had. The seafood pie was huge and looked tasty. Good open space and not stuffy like some of these types of places can be. Worth a visit. Wine was great too.
Had crapy as food tasted awful made me munt an hour later eggs where as hard as me in the morning payed 20 bucks for meal they get in war
