Well it's now 4,04 in the morning and having the words of the doctor repeating in my head with a baseline of throbbing pain to help me wonder, pain comes in many forms and some say can be overcome mentally! Each to their own I wanna reap the benefits of research and studies so gimme some drugs

Yesterday, I had to have an operation at RPA. It was amazing service, and the staff were wonderful. All the nurses and doctors were fantastic, and I would like to commend them on their work and thank them again very much. Great job. Thank you

The worse hospital, we went there in emergency ward and waiting for 2 hours without any treatment done yet. My husband got diarrhea, vomiting and high fever for almost 4 days. He not even have power for sit down or walk after been diarrhea and vomiting without any food for couple days but the nurse still asking him to wait. And she said they need to taking care more worse patients and I don’t know how could more worse my husband will be? Maybe till he die cause lack of fluids then they will taking care of him.
He paid higher tax every year, is just so hard to get something to stop his diarrhea and vomiting in that hospital.

I am sitting in the waiting room of the Intensive Care Unit. My husband was admitted for a pulmonary embolism and he has been waiting for hours for treatment. In the meantime people with sprained ankles are getting priority.

Typical public hospital from our government. Trash! Emergency nurses were good but good luck getting any treatment. Drs think they're demi-gods & will continually speak over you and not listen. Junkies fighting each other in emergency while they're chasing pills. Wanted to get out of that trash hole so fast I left without taking the catheter out. Never again going there! Tax dollars at work at its finest.

Gone to this hospital with so much hope and high expectations but failed miserably. Faced the most racist and rude nurse and other staff

Staff overworked, no privacy, doctors treating people in front of other patients, everybody knows other peoples issues. Son had to spend over 18hrs in a reclining chair been here for over 24hrs, it is a nightmare for someone on the spectrum lights noise, smell etc, still no resolve! Son came in for help and is yet to receive any!

No respect or care for people who can’t wear a mask. I was refused entry because I can’t wear a mask due to anxiety. I showed them my medical exemption from my doctor only to be told it doesn’t count unless it’s from a doctor within RPA. How can I even organise an appointment to get me exemption if you won’t let me in? Meanwhile there was over 30 people in the cafeteria not wearing a mask ‍️I guess all the precautions for this deadly virus don’t matter if you want nuggets and a coke.

Absolutely disgusting. Went in with bleeding etc at 16wks pregnant. Waited 4.5hrs before a doctor finally came, who could not help me because no one had spoken to the OBGYN yet. Blood were taken and results were not given. I left at 2.30pm as I had to drive 9hrs home and had only limited time to try and get some sleep before being put in danger any further.

I am not Medicare user and I have been here today for almost 5 hours now. I have massive blood clots in my coughing today, totally scared, came to help and they put me on quarantine room. I am seeing patients even before me coming and go. I am under OSHC and I feel the treatment is completely different towards me (in the to worse way) They just put me to wait and I am still here after 4 hours and half to wait one x-ray result and Covid swab test that I to beg someone to do mentioned several times I am coughing blood and had close contact! Awful experience. Hope not to come back so soon and WANT TO HEAR SOMEONE RESPONSIBLE W H Y we are treated us overseas student as we are NOTHING here! (And of course invoice charge to pay 100%). They made me sign papers with my credit card beforehand. Royal Prince Alfred, in my point of view, waiting after every patient coming and go, this is just discrimination and lack of care with overseas students! ️

NICU- couldn’t have asked for a better team of doctors! So polite, caring and loving.went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in the 2 and a half months of being there.

Labour & Delivery- such compassionate nurses! Had one in particular that went the extra mile for me.will never forget the beautiful people that looked after myself and my son.

I did not know poor nurses had to work under such awful conditions until this week. I had been to RPA before and it had been a good visit aside from food issues. This time I ended up in a ward that had to be just after WW11. The toilet was amazing. I could not find where you flushed and then I noticed a button on a side wall not near the toilet at all. The hand basin was so small and I didn’t believe old star turn tap handles were still in existence but there they were. Having weak hands I had to them come out of the toilet and into the shower section to push the lever so I could wash my hand. The shower section reminded me of the old beach showers where the water went everywhere but on you. Once again my hands were not strong enough to unclip the shower head. The furniture in the room was also very dated. Nothing updated here. You had to lean over the side of the bed to try and find the bed controls. I soon realise that the hospital needs private paying patients like me to boost their budget but all you get is a TV with local stations. At least I got to watch the news while I am a diabetic I follow a normal diet. Wrote this on every form. In comes the meals delivered by the rudest person I have come across in my 77 years. Second time she came I asked if it was diabetic food and she threw a piece of paper at me. I was put in a world with a patient who appeared to have some problems who growled and yabbered away all night. I begged to be moved but no way. Later the next day she left and a patient came in late afternoon and at visiting time it seems every friend and relation she had made a lot of noise. I rand my husband and asked him to come and get me the next morning. I didn’t have a meal except when the nurses made me a cup of tea and I had a dry piece of whole meal bread with margarine on it. How the lovely young nurses cope in this terrible place is beyond me. The premier and health dept will be getting a letter but the surgeons were the very best you could get

The nurse in emergency between 11pm-12am 13th of December was so rude. I understand it’s not the greatest job to have, but some level of professionalism would have been nice.

Really disapppinting treatment from doctors. Changing the story back and forth on my condition every hour. First telling me it would be an overnight stay, then two days, then a week. Forcing on me treatments which some of the nurses have even questioned, then asking me to sign a waiver of responsibility for an unnecessary and dangerous procedure that will put my life at risk. On top of that, making feel like a total low life for daring to question why i would allow them to do a procedure they do even trust themselves to do!

Wonderful hospital. Emergency staff amazing when I was taken in. Doctors checked for absolutely everything. This costed me NOTHING. The nurses up on the wards are heroes. They are working so many shifts to keep up with demand. We should salute them and also the doctors. RPA is a world class hospital. HOW GRATEFUL WE SHOULD ALL BE FOR BEING SO WELL LOOKED AFTER FOR ABSOLUTELY FREE.

First time I’ve ever had to visit this place, first time I spent over 4 days in the emergency department and they still couldn’t help me. Second times visit and once again another 4 days in the emergency department, only to be told I had to go home and sort it out myself. Absolutely pathetic the middle management and doctors should be ashamed of themselves. Nurses are and have been amazing tho hence the one star rating. I will never go back there unless it’s against my will.

Very good and large hospital - was born here which is very emotional and brings me to tears almost every time I enter the doors of RPA. But the people at the front are quite pushy. I know they are trying to be safe, but they could be kinder.

Exceptional service from the midwife’s, doctors & all in delivery ward (Adriana, Lindsey, doctors), prenatal & postnatal wards. We definitely felt the care from all, there were very few exceptions though. Thank you so much.

My experience 2 days ago was that being pregnant passing out and struggling to breathe I was admitted there via ambulance.
No blood tests done, no serum given. Checked baby’s heart beat waited in the room for 5.5hrs and sent home.
SHOCKING
