Royal National Park reviews
24 Car park it was full. I paid the $12 fee 5km before we reach the car park, and no one to say it was full.
No dog friendly. I made U turn and go back home on 25th Christina’s
Great park to ride, tourist drive or simply access the numerous trails or secluded beaches. You better go there early in the morning!
It is huuuuge, we often go to Weeding Cake Rock walk, very scenic.
This park has lots of parks, picnic areas, bush walks, riverside picnic areas and much more. Our favourite place is Wedding cake rock track which offers stunning views, you start with a busy walk which later turns into ocean/cliff side walk and the a rockey walk.
You need some time to explore this park.
One of my favourite places, a beautiful National Park South of Sydney. So many tracks to explore. Highly recommend the Coastal Track, but also a great spot for kayaking and whale watching.
We didn't get to do the parts of the park we hoped but it was still great. Took a bike ride and hiked a few paths.
Definitely a must place to visit. Make sure that you have hat and some sun protection. You will be always under the sun. You can take different hiking trails. We took the one that goes to wedding cake. There is a nice small beach after the wedding cake but remember that you have to come back on the same way
Such a beautiful, beautiful National Park and so badly abused by its patrons. I took my two teenagers to Wattamolla Falls today, after talking this place up for years. My kids who have been taught that you leave NO rubbish in a National Park have christened the place I first encountered in 1994, NAPPY BEACH. I was absolutely disgusted, embarrassed and ashamed that my fellow Australians and vistors to this country think its OK to leave their children's nappies on the sand. We counted 17 nappies in 30 minutes. A much anticipated day out - trashed by people who obviously don't care. So unhappy with all of you. If you don't care - don't go.
I am writing this review after i changed my rating from 4 to 5 star. The 4 star was due to the lack of availability of single passes, however I would now recommend anyone who frequents the NSW National parks to buy an annual pass. The Royal National park has best of the tracks for all the grades which take as short as 30 minutes and as long as 3 days. Wattamola and Garrie beaches are the best of them and not to miss the wedding cake rock (now partially closed) and figure 8 pools. Must visit place even for the tourists of Sydney who dont quite make it outside the common tourist places of Sydney.
Big and amazing! With greats bush walking options. Perfect for one that likes keeping touch with the nature
Wikipedia: The Grand Pacific Drive is scenic drive in Australia. Starting in the Royal National Park it crosses the Sea Cliff Bridge and continues through Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, and the Shoalhaven on a total length of 140 kilometres.
Amazing national park, we brought a tent and stayed a few days, completely in love with this amazing nature, what a night sky what a beautiful ocean!
The iconic national park of Sydney, with something for everyone - cafes, remote beaches, walking trails, wild deer and fantastic twisting roads. It is the roads that beckon motorcycles and sporty cars to push on and enjoy the corners. For the LOLs visit 'help I've binned my car in the Nasho' on Facebook.
Known for its breath taking coastal views, but also has lots of picturesque stops along the river and creeks. Easy access to picnic areas. All round wonderful drive.
Just not my cup of tea. All there was was sand, water, rocks and trees. I expected more variety out of the place. Sure, there was stuff like the Wedding Cake Rock, the awesome sea view and the cool breeze but that just barely gets another star off of me. No water coolers except at for the one at the starting point, no man made toilets for miles and no shops nor hospitals too. Honestly wouldnt be surprised at all if some people couldnt make it out alive. So if you want to go there, make sure you are prepared and you dont regret it.
If you're in Sydney, this place is highly recommended. Hop on a train and it's a 6-7km trek from Otford Train Station to the Figure 8 pools. Be sure to keep up to date with the tides as anything above low tide can be quite dangerous. Overall this is a must see National Park.
Secluded.peacefull and easy access for walkers. If you start in Loftus, trams works on Sunday. If you ride.a little piece of heaven's!
Speed limits too slow to enjoy. Sick off the over regulation of our government putting ugly fences in photogenic spots because bloggers and influencers can't look after themselves. It's disgusting what they did to figure 8 pool and I don't know how to stop this from happening in the future.
Such a magical place.so quiet.so peaceful but can be soooooooooo crowded as well
I'm talking about wattamolla beach in particular. It combines both, the wave of the ocean and the safe swimming environment of a little lake
My 3 year old daughter was playing safely by herself and she's usually afraid of water.
The waterfall gives a great scenic view and lots of people dive there despite the sign that says "No Diving"
It is absolutely worth visiting
There were so many nice areas to explore, with seats, tables and hot plates. And they also provide a great canoeing and kayaking experience with beautiful landscapes. I would suggest to go there a little earlier than usual though, to beat traffic and get the good spots.
Many excellent beaches and superb walking tracks. An easy 1 hour drive south of Sydney. The $12 day pass is well worth it. Wattamolla beach and falls are highly recommended.
