Royal Hall of Industries / The Hordern Pavilion reviews
30 Went here to watch Limp Bizkit. Am surprised that they have seats on the sides and at the back. Really help with us picky and short people who wants to enjoy live music but not be drowned by the tall people in the mosh pit.
Sound wise it's better than Round House. Bring your concert earplugs and you'll be ready!
We're very easy to deal with, very straight out with rules on the venue and had a blast of a night
I don't know if the rating is affected by the show I've seen (Maneskin) of it is really a great location.
But:
- lightrail stopping in front
- plenty of parking
- great sound and lightning
- decent food
Makes me think it's probably a great location:)
I saw Limp Bizkit at the Horden and it was amazing! Couldn't fault the venue, the parking or the surounding entertainment venues, eateries and shops.
Stage is super low, which was actually ok, I saw XG fine (they stand around 5'0-5'3) I could see them above everyone else heads IF the rude people in front stopped recording the entire concert and facetiming their friends, like ffs I'm paying to watch a show through someone's iphone, or looking at some randoms head. It might be my age showing but it was a literal waste if time. Stage needs to be at a better height or ban filming in GA altogether.
THE PLACE WAS FUN. BUT 1 STAR RATING?
Let me explain.
1. The tickets I bought for Mardi gras couple of years ago and this year Horrorween are both are exorbitant. Totally not worth it. I was so annoyed that I refused to take the compensation tickets from Mardi Gras.
2. Here's is the entry procedure: Ticket check, security check, cloak and party. One need to look at the amount of everyday useful things thrown at the security check - it's a disaster. They threw my paracetamol and ibuprofen which I always carry in my bag for unexpected Migraine attacks. They also threw my brand new pocket of mouth freshener - I bought it couple of weeks ago and it was in the bag ever since but never used - thrown.
They run such a business, why can't they just have a choice to have a cloak before the security check so that people can leave their stuffs safely and not take it inside? I am surprised that they can't think of such a tiny detail. Funny thing is, they throw medicines, mouth fresheners and gums but they let every other sort of drugs conveniently - jokes on them and on us.
Oh yes, I'm going to say it, ARQ is much more fun than this expensive piece of. I might never go to any party in this venue again. I'd rather stick to ARQ and Universal.
Ah wait, b the HP parties ends at 2. Haha. Seriously?
As of the venue, assuming, the party organisers have nothing to do with the actual venue, it's a nice place.
I hope the venue management set these rules so not too waste so much personal stuffs throwing it in the trash.
Cheers.
COVID protocols were very good and Monet and Friends was impressive. The information and insights into Impressionism were excellent. Travel by light rail was easy, clean and comfortable.
Attended many concerts/events at the Hordern Pavilion. It’s a great venue. The venue is well maintained and clean. Great service. Had a great time whenever I’ve visited the venue. Thank you.
The Hordern Pavilion is an iconic music venue in Sydney. I’ve seen so many live acts here and the atmosphere is electric, probably because it’s smaller than arenas which makes it more intimate.
Easy access street parking on Driver Avenue or at the Wilson Carpark at the Entertainment Quarter. Be sure to validate parking ticket for discount parking.
Can’t wait to live music kicks back into full-on gear, rock on
Love the small space for concerts. Can get really close to the performers.
Should there be better way to dispose off the cans and plastic cups?
I went to see Bastille concert and I really like the concert room. Big but not too big so you have a nice view from everywhere. You can stand or sit down. Some food, snacks, drinks.
Great outside area to cool off after jumping around on the GA dancefloor. Staff are really efficient and polite too.
Saw Billy Idol on 1st of February 2020, what a fantistic performer Billy is, a packed Hordern Pavillion on an over 40°c day it was surprisingly comfortable inside. This is a great old place that has been around for a long time and hopefully it will be there for a long time to come.
Huge complex. Ideal for promotional outlets. Security top priority and well set up for industry related companies. This one I visited was City to Surf promoted products. Bus services close by. Collection from Central Station. So leave car at home and travel by public transport.
First time at the Horden to see Grinspoon. Impressed with the professionalism of all the staff and the organisation overall. Would love to live local to make visiting this concert venue a regular on my events list
Truly on of the last great venues. Simple, beautiful and with all the old-school venue vibes with a slick of beer, sweat and tears on the floor and the band inches away from the crowd.
My mum took me their for my 9th birthday and I got lost in the crowd it took them 5 years to find me and by that time I had already converted to a furry: (
Great spot-as a tourist, we were looking for snacks and they had a convenience store which was "convenient' enough. Would like to dine in one of the restaurants over there and probably watch a gig/show/concert if I had the time.
Been here for a few events. It really depends onthe event for your experence. The facalities are good but not for certain crowds. For instance the baby show had insufgicent facilities as there are stairs everywhere. But music events are usually pretty well set out. Overall gopd place but its in the hands of the event coordinator.
Went here to see Jimmy Barnes. A fantastic heritage rich venue. Drinks seemed to be fairly priced for a venue like this. Staff and security were all polite.
