Royal Exhibition Hotel reviews
56 Great location, great value for money, definitely the hallways do smell musty but the room smells normal.
There is a bit of dust etc but it’s the cheapest place in the area and the staff are so nice and the aircon is excellent. Good sized rooms. There was one window in our room but it was up very high.
We have been visiting the hotel for 15 years - Avoid at all costs - stayed there and went to go into the bar on our way to our room. We were refused entry by a large aggressive bearded man who would not give a reason as to the rejection. This is why Sydney CBD night life is dying. I would never go here again purely on the treatment by that man.
Not a happy customer. Very very upset with the operation and management really need an investigation into I think!
Close to the station and on the tram route. Within easy access of the holiday destinations of Sydney.
A nice and convenient pub near Central Station. It is great for a meet-up for groups that are based all over Sydney. Better than average food with a nice outside area upstairs.
Best value for money lunch I’ve ever had. 2 x rump steak + chips and salad, 2 x tall glass sodas, and a plate of salt and pepper squid. The $15 weekday lunch between 11: 30-3pm is unbelievable. Our chef (Monday midday) deserves serious plaudits for these dishes. Extremely happy; will be back.
I went to eat here today because the website states the $15 lunch specials are Mon-Fri, but turns out it doesn't include Friday.
A sensible price but choose a different location if your a light sleeper as it's right by tram station and main railway station. Great food however and great service. Rooms dated but done up somewhat.
Great location, but the light rail shakes the hotel to the foundations every 30 minutes for 24 hours a day
This was my last hotel during a four week Australia trip, and it may just have been the best one as well. Huge, cozy rooms with beautiful furniture, friendly staff, perfect location right across from Central Station, and extremely good value for what you get. Plus, there's a super-cozy pub downstairs, with food that's both inexpensive and very good.
Perfect stay.
It's pretty good for the price, clean enough. Depending on what room you get it's not super loud but one of the rooms we had was. No hand soap which is odd in this covid age. Great location. I'll stay here again!
The hotel itself was nice and quiet great place to chat and have a good drink. The staff were also kind and fun to talk to.
Can't give you more than 3s. I have stayed here quite a few times in the past, normally before a cruise. This time I stayed in room 10.
It was a double room which didn't bother me me. The thing that bothers me is there was only aircon in the room with the 2 beds in it & not the main room with the bigger bed.
I figured, well I'm not paying for the power so I had it on flat out on 18° just to feel remotely comfortable.
I would've thought with the downturn during Coronavirus things may have been updated a little. I was wrong.
Dirty, depressing vibe manager audibly heard being nasty to own staff, made for an uncomfortable experience
Good, unpretentious old style pub with a decent beer selection and good staff. This is my local e en though there are pubs which are closer to my home.
Went in on an early Saturday arvo, we had the whole rooftop area to ourselves, staff were super friendly too
Was definitely a bonus to walk in during Happy hour? Not crowded, clean and the staff were happy and attentive.
Great pub that's centrally located with good sports on numerous TVs, big portion sizes for the food and reasonable prices.
Pleasant environment, friendly staff, good range of beers and tasty bistro food. Close to station and light rail.
So close to Central Station. An old hotel with bars downstairs. Only 2 stories high, but there is a lift. Thick walls make it really quiet. A little frayed around the edgeS, but comfy bed and pillows, great newly renovated bathroom with a good walk-in shower. Aircon quiet and effective, good tv and WiFi. Clean.
