Chilled to having lunch here with beautiful atmosphere, with beautiful river views
Superb milkshakes, creamy, tasty and cold! Salad rolls and hotdogs good too, esp the “Regie” hot dog with bacon, onion and mustard, toasted in a sandwich press. Good atmosphere, service, and great position facing the glittering river. Recommended stop not far off the freeway in a really nice little old town!
Roses Cafe is the quintessial country cafe. A huge variety of local fresh food on offer. An opportunity to take it to away and sit by the Nambucca River opposite or eat at the cute tables inside. My Salad sandwich was so delicious. But the menu had the most wonderful variety. Quiche, Fish and chips and so much more our grandies had hot dogs, my daughter one of the many focaccia choices, there were Hamburgers of every variety including top of the range with the lot just $13. Ice Cream local jams chutney honey and more. We love Roses Cafe in Macksville Mid North Coast NSW

They we happy to serve even when they only had 10minutes before closing.
Nice views over the river in Macksville or take an outside seat and sit closer.
My husband and I just had a Big Breakfast and Coffee here and everything was delicious and cooked exactly how we like it.
Quality bacon & sausages and well cooked ripe tomatoes.

Food served nicely but just seemed to lack something that doesn't invite immediate return. Salad was very nice but quiche seemed too tough suggesting it may have been reheated too many to as top was like a hardened crust.
Great old fashioned cafe, serving fantastic meals. We had a burger with the works, which was huge, and a bacon and egg roll. Both were sensational. Coffee was great and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Food takes quite a while to come out even when you're only getting hot chips, tastes pretty average but the staff are very friendly and it's quite a nice cafe to sit in
