Rose Seidler House reviews
10Intriguing place to visit for architectural nerds and design lovers alike particularly if you consider when it was designed and built. Interior is kept to original deco including appliances which is awesome.
Worth going on a Sunday with a light heart
It feels like the house where the vampire family from Twilight lives.
Many of the exterior walls are windows, so the view is good.
The building itself is modern, but all the furniture inside is the original furniture that was in this house from the beginning, and there are many vintage products.
It's open only on Sundays and is free, but it's better to make a reservation after checking the tickets.
Beautiful modern house. Very minimalistic interior. Very friendly staff and interesting tour guides. Open every Sunday. Easy access with parking on site. Free entry.
Visited on a special Sunday, the 100th “birthday “ of the great architect
Way ahead of its time, completed in 1950, truly revolutionary and influential
Beautifully maintained and presented, made more special by the volunteer guides
Absolutely a required visit for any architectural enthusiast.
A step back in time into the mind of Harry Seidler. A beautiful simple looking house with incredible complexity hidden within. All interal lighting is indirect creating peaceful hues, rooms are cleverly divided with movable curtains and creative floor to ceiling windows bring the outside in. Stunning experience being immersed in this timeless design. Well done Harry!
Amazing glimpse into the past in this futuristic slice of life in a home that was designed to be so cutting edge and futuristic. Run by a friendly and knowledgeable team who can answer any questions about this amazing home.
A wonderfully preserved look into an exciting time of design. The staff were so helpful and informative.
Although we didn't have the opportunity to view the house inside because it was closed, it looked like a house built in this age. We will try to go there again
Such a beautiful iconic house. Harry Seidler was ahead of his time in the 1950s with all the thought and details put into the home from the colour schemes, to details such as recessed curtains and lighting, an ensuite and curtains to divide space. The representative working there on the day was so helpful answering all our questions about the history of the home. Highly recommend interior decorators and design students visit.
Classic modern Sydney architecture imported from the USA. Designed by Harry Seidler for his parents this house is the exemplar of the Sydney architecture movement that rose to prominence in the 50s and 60s. Set on the edge of the national park in almost parkland setting the house is a beautiful example of open plan living with excellent use of light and space.
