We accepted a quote from Ronny and Roofing Australia to replace all of our roof battens, and install new sarking and new tiles for our house and garage.
The finished job looks good, BUT I was later told by NSW Fair Trading that Roofing Australia does not hold a license for major building works, and should not have quoted on any job exceeding $20,000.
We did not receive a written contract. We did not receive a checklist nor proof of insurance as required of those who are doing major works. We were required to pay more than a 10% deposit (we paid almost half the total amount) before work started. We were asked to pay the balance before the work was completed.
I read other reviews that mentioned "attention to detail", yet things were overlooked or poorly planned during our job.
A tip truck was on site to collect the old tiles, but there was no truck for the other waste. Old battens, nails, screws, wire, etc.was simply thrown onto our front garden. We asked the guys to be more careful on day one, but on the second day, the damage was even worse. This was eventually cleaned up, but not before two treasured plants had been damaged.
Incidental rubbish like water bottles, coffee cups, lunch leftovers, chip packets etc, were left in the roof space (attracting roaches), or on the roof, or in the garden.
Our TV antenna cable was cut through.
Ducting for the kitchen rangehood and exhaust fan was removed from the old roof, dropped onto the ceiling, tiled over, and forgotten.
An external light fitting was knocked off the wall and left hanging by its wires.
Old sarking crumbs and dust were blown out of the garage roof space with a leafblower, and onto the garden and rainwater tanks.
A skylight was removed and replaced crooked, and not rectified until weeks after. Thankfully, I noticed that it was no longer able to open and close properly, otherwise the issue would have been simply hidden with some plastering.
We found the whole process to be drawn out and emotionally tiring. I strongly recommend that prospective customers do license checks with Fair Trading, and ensure that they receive a proper written contract before proceeding with any major works.

Professional and prompt service. Called Ronny on the Monday within the hour he inspected the roof, and by Friday his team was on the roof doing a repair and restoration. Ronny took the time to explain the work that needed to be done, and even pointed out a couple issues with the skylights and recommended a trusted repairer.

Great customer service, professional work and prompt service - will be my go-to for roof work at future properties.

Contracted Ronny to rectify some water leaks. He identified the problem and had them fixed at a reasonable price within the same week. Would highly recommend for all roofing works.

Came across Ronny at a pop up stall at Menai Market Place. After booking an appointment to have a look at my place Ronny did an inspection and gave me a quote. There was no hard sell, just the facts.
