Worst agency I’ve ever rented through. Do not rent 59 Abercrombie St, Chippendale! Black mould covers the downstairs rear bedroom walls and every inch of the terrace is falling apart. Your issues will take months for a response and many will never be fixed. Make sure you keep a record of every issue you bring to their attention or they will try to claim it from your bond. Luckily R&W Newtown isn’t on ratemyagent because both them and Serg Mikovic would have a whole lot of. Thank god I’m out of there.

As a tenant, R&W are a nightmare. We pay our rent automatically every week, at the same time, and because there's another tenant in their system with our surname, payments get mislabeled and we constantly receive threatening text messages saying we're in arrears. Get your accounts sorted!

They also hire subpar contractors who do average repairs, and are just generally completely disorganised.

Glad to be parting ways soon.

Landlords and tenants beware of this agency. They are thieves. I paid the rent confirming the dates in the email and now they claim I'm in arrears because the new lease agreement started a couple of days after I paid, so the money I paid, doesn't count. Unethical, unprofessional, disrespectful.

I’ve been renting through R&W for the last 19 months and everyone’s been really great. Michael Katsiambirtas has been transparent and helpful before I was even a tenant with R&W. Then during COVID, he went above and beyond to look after me. The property is wonderful, I’ve only had to reach out for maintenance twice and each time Michael was on it, getting the issue fixed within a few days.

Michael Xanthoudakis has been great to deal with as a potential buyer.

My partner and I have been in the market for over 18 months and have constantly been let down by agents not providing accurate price guides.

Michael has been a great communicator and extremely honest and set realistic expectations from the get go - a breathe of fresh air.

I found Michael to be an excellent real estate agent. I rented a property from him in Marrickville for 3 years and 9 months, until last week. From viewing the property right through to vacating, he was wonderful to work with.

Any concerns and repairs I flagged with him were always dealt with promptly. No problem was too small, and nothing was ever a problem. He was always responsive, and attentive to detail.

I thoroughly recommend Michael, and would be delighted to work with him again in any capacity.

It's interesting with a business has as many 5 star reviews as 1 stars, and nothing in between. I would encourage anyone looking to rent a property from this branch to look at the reviews and decide. If it turns out the 5 stars are from friend and family or fake account, then it would be even worse practice from them. Personally, worst agent I have to deal with

The property I rented had numerous problems that the property manager took months, sometimes a year, to address, and when they were addressed, they were done so inadequately by incompetent tradies who did a worse job than I could have done (the plumber was good though). Often problems went completely ignored. The property manager's emails were also garbled and incomprehensible.

Want to give a shout out in particular to John Park, who has been very professional as we moved into a new rental property. Has been very clear about what he needs from us, and very responsive to our requests.

I had some issues with a property I was leased by another agent, R&W Newtown took over the property management and I found them to be far more friendly and organised than my former agency. I'd like to in particular thank Serg my agent who helped me upon vacating the property, he made the process straight forward and I was given a full bond refund without any issues. The R&W office has been much easier to work with than other inner west agencies I've dealt with, I'd be happy to rent through them again in the future.

Overall poor service, only cared about the price and to the point when you spend lots of time completing an application. Typical real estate agency with no real 1 to 1 care.

I have rented two properties now with Richardson & Wrench Newtown (around 4 years). Both times I have had Elia Hanoun as my contact agent & have found him to be absolutely fantastic!
He always gets things done in a timely manner, is very helpful and genuinely personable.
Both owners and tenants are treated with respect by Elia.

It's strange when a business only has either 5 star or 1 star reviews, wouldn't be surprised if R&W Newtown stooped so low as to write fake reviews to average their rating. As a property manager, they had become incompetent and highly unprofessional in the last 12-18 months including to my new agent. Have never been so pleased with changing businesses.
