Rewind Photo Lab

I always use Rewind Photo Lab for my 35mm film development and scanning. They are easy to deal with, and provide a prompt service to a high standard. I mainly use the mail in service as a travel a lot but the drop off box is so easy aswell. Highly recommended.

Quick turn around, only a few days! The photos turned out so cute even though the unexposed film had been through a CT scanner at the airport

Switched on and entirely dedicated team I trust completely. Prints came back just as I asked. Perfect.

The scan quality is not great. Just a heads up for people that wants good quality photos.
They rescanned them for me, the quality is still bad. Even after trying all i can in Lightroom to make them look as good as they should’ve turned out. I am left with 7 film rolls of waste, and have to go to a new lab to get them scanned again. Better hope the negatives are still in good shape.

A great place to have film developed/scanned (and prints made if needed). The staff are friendly and helpful even if you are a newbie.
Film stocks are low, but where aren't they at the moment?

Had done dev a few times with no issues but this time it took nearly three days and the roll come back curled as crazy. I guess I’ll better do it myself.

I appreciate that the owner (presumably) emailed me since I had previously left a bad review. Why did I do that? Because their scans were not great, and it heavily depends on who's doing it. It's also overly saturated and warm, this seems to be a "thing" with Rewind (god knows why) but mine were cranked up to the point of an unnatural neon brown skintone.

He offered to scan my film himself, and the b/w did turn out lovely - but I discovered to scratches in my negative; only by sheer luck was it fixable since it only ran through the background! Also, it doesn't really speak for a lab when you have to request a certain person to get good quality scans.

I can’t praise the Rewind Photo Lab team enough! I got some already developed film rescanned at a higher dpi and some new film developed and scanned, and I absolutely love how they turned out. Amazing quality and beautiful colours. Then when I came to collect my film it was packed so thoughtfully. Wonderful, friendly, helpful and easy going customer service too:)

Staff are sweet and helpful. Develop beautiful films. It is also a great place to get films with very good price.

Reasonable with their film scanning services. But terrible with admin.

They ended up sending my film to the incorrect address. This was despite me raising with them multiple times that they had the wrong address on my invoice.

Very disappointed to have lost the film from our trip due to incompetency issues.

Best lab there is, hands down. Reasonable prices for processing, scans and film purchases. With their mail in order service they are accessible to all. If you get to go in store they are super friendly and can mail you your negs and you can access your files immediately via drop box. Highly recommend

I've developed my photos with numerous labs, and none compare to Rewind! The process is so easy and the turnaround is so quick. Highly highly recommend:)

Was very happy to find a lab that does motion picture (super 8,16mm etc) and miniDV VHS tape digital transfers. Hard to believe that there's a place that still offers BOTH of these conversion services!:)

It’s so great to finally see a lab in Sydney offer VHS conversion and Super 8 scanning! Was extremely happy with the quality of the VHS transfer and can’t wait for their Super 8 developing service to launch!

Have been using this shop to develop my film over the last 4 years. Absolute quick turnover and very very convenient to deal with. Best film shop in Sydney!

A professional firm recommended I visit Rewind Photo Lab, who could reproduce my special image from a 20 year old 35 mm negative.
David, a lab technician at Rewind Photo Lab in Alexandria Sydney, examined the old negative, then advised with a few touch ups, the image could be recreated. David professionally explained the touch ups in detail and my concerns of a lost image were instantly alleviated. David’s has a broad spectrum of knowledge in Photography and his manner interacting with clients and understanding their request is excellent. My personal experience grades 5 stars for service and results.

The staff are very professional. Always super kind and helpful. Love the new location! If you're looking for a photo lab, this is the one!

They threw out my negatives without contacting me first, I know they are going to say “ it’s in the contract we’ll throw them out after 6 months “ didn’t see it, It was the beginnings of Covid time I was stuck out of Sydney, things were pretty crazy, at least would expect a call or email. Couldn’t believe it when I called 7 months after and they had been binned. Feel it would be fair for them to contact someone first and possibly consider people’s personal circumstances that could be happening at the time and disregarding the preciousness of someone’s negatives. Not that hard to contact someone before you throw them out.

I also sent my friend Jakob from the northern rivers to rewind who had precious negatives from the 70’s he wanted scanned and he wanted to deliver in person. Rewind posted the negatives back to him and when he asked where the scans are rewind checked and they had forgotten to scan them.

Also heard they are pretty average with their colours.

Still in disbelief they threw out my negatives.
