I tried to book a table for 7 people at 7: 30 pm, however I was told tthe only available booking will be after after 8pm. We live just around the corner from the restaurant. We arrived at 8: 25, before we could sit down, we were told off by the owner if you're going to be late call us! She was angry and abrupt! It was humiliating. My children and guests were shocked and wanted to walk out. I decided to stay. I explained to my guests that this Lady is always rude to me and just to ignore her. We dine regularly at this restaurant. I find her to be rude and not hospitable at all. My first encounter with her was, when we came for the first time, I ordered Chicken Karaage, their menu has very small writing hence I couldn't read the souce selection. (written in fine very small writing). She asked me what souce would I like, I asked her if there is vinaigrette souce? She told me-READ THE MENU! It appreared there was a vinegar type souce anyway but she could not be bothered telling me, yes there is vinegar souce. Lady, if you're going to run a restaurant in Mosman, give your customers a Mosman service or move to Mt Druitt where you belong! How dare you treat your customers like that!

Food is always good. Been coming here for years. We always ordered the carpaccio, sui gyoza and Wagyu beef teriyaki. Can't go wrong with the taste here.
The presentation is good but lately it is a little messy (splatter around the edges).
It's not a spacious place and it's busy during peak hour time so make sure you book prior.

Fusion mod Japanese menu to suit the Westerner palate - i.e. Variations on farmed salmon, mayo, a bit heavy on the grated onion & ponzu sauces and marinades. Some dishes work; others fall a bit flat (a daily special of seasonal asparagus, bacon rashers, sliced shiitake and vinegar-marinated slices of eggplant in an onion/ponzu sauce was frankly weird, not helped by the inclusion of some tough and woody asparagus stems), but the ingredients, it must be said, are all very fresh. The gyoza were good, but the long deep-fried wagyu spring rolls with sweet sauce skated a bit too close to regional Australian-Canto fare. Service is quick and very courteous. Interior is a pleasant neutral dark tone visually, but the hard flooring and close proximity of the tables means even at half full early in the dinner period, the sound can be deafening as the Barrys and Karens start raising their voices commensurate with their Sauvignon Blanc intake. Drinks list is good and overall the prices are very competitive. Drinks menu could do with the addition of some mocktails or yuzu liqueur-based drinks.

Bustling, tables too close together. Sukiyaki wagyu hotpot with udon noodles was a disaster. Tough, stringy beef which was overcooked, only a few noodles and 4 pieces of sliced carrots in a watery soup. Expensive corkage, not mentioned in the website. Confusion with our friends' meal not arriving together. Don't bother!

Toshiya has been a consistently excellent and innovative Japanese restaurant for all the years we have been coming here. Fresh, beautifully presented traditional dishes are intermingled with Toshiya’s imaginative variations on the theme.

Toshi is a Sashimi Master. Food is delicious. Happy, friendly staff.
We dine there around 4-5 times a month. Have to book as they are full every night. Our special local restaurant. Book ahead, don't miss out!

This is now one of my favourite restaurants! The special banquet is absolutely sensational! Such a treat for the tastebuds! As someone who isn't overly keen on seafood I have to admit I loved every bit of it and have been back multiple times since my work mates dragged me there. I recommended this is restaurant to anyone that will listen to me!

Toshiya is the BEST Japanese restaurant in Cremorne. Do the set menu if you can but otherwise make sure you have the sashimi tacos - they are a must.
This restaurant is always busy so definitely make a booking!

The food is always amazing and this time went for individual items rather than the set menu. Always have the refreshing yuzu drink. Had to move outside as it was too noisy inside due to a table of inconsiderate patrons. Others did the same and we all then were able to enjoy the meal and conversation with friends

Sushi tacos! This is one of my most fav Japanese places in Sydney. The sashimi is very fresh, the sushi is fantastic and they have a lot of original ideas in the menu. Amazing food and service. ️

Bad service. Food is average. 3 way salmon is not a good balance and Teriyaki wagyu beef is too salty. Expected too much then found disappointed

Since last review have dined in fortnightly, is our local go to place, always a great experience and food

However last night was an exception

Service was non existent, chicken served undercooked and lobster over cooked, like eating a over done steak

Brought to the attention of the staff, non committal attitude

Very disappointing …. Won’t be back

The food is still brilliant and fair value. Visit mid week, it was pack and service slow. The food is worth the wait

Overall is good, but carpaccio is not that tasty. Sukiyaki hotpot is not that valuable compare to Yayoi.

Perfect ‘Date Night’ Japanese restaurant in Cremorne. All the dishes are so fresh and delicious and the service very friendly. Must try dishes are the sashimi tacos, the salmon aburi sushi, and my absolute favourite the ‘VOLCANO LOBSTER’! Plus, they’re BYO ;)

The ambience is definitely not like what is in the photo. This is more your neighbourhood restaurant rather than a place to detour for. Food is OK and OK only.

Excellent food and good value for money. Came on a Saturday for lunch and really liked the place. Good service, cold Sapporo beer on tap. Sashimi and tempura were nice, the fish was excellent. The desert (three kinds to try) was excellent as well. Black sesame ice cream was our highlight. Happy to come back.

Got the udon noodles and all I could taste was salt. The service wasn't good, the waitress left in the middle of taking our order and didn't come back. They forgot some of the meals we ordered. Might have been an off day for them but I didn't have a good time

Great service, good food, however if you are expecting an authentic Japanese food, this is not the one for you. They are fusion. Great presentation nice ambience place, but yes.the tables are too close to each other.
