Absolutely loved our meal last night! It was our first time at Hubert, and you did not disappoint. From the lovely card to congratulate us on our anniversary, to the attentive and professional staff, and of course, the incredible meal. Loved it, thank you for making our night so memorable!

When I first visited, the atmosphere inside was nice and the food was decent, but the more I stayed there, the more racist it felt. This was the first and last time I felt racism while traveling in Australia. Even though the foreign couples ordered one drink and sat down, they didn't ask if they wanted to order more, but the Korean couple next to me (they ordered a lot of food and wine) kept pointing at the menu even though they were still eating, so I thought they were pretending to watch. Since our group was also sitting at the table, we ordered both main and wine, but even though there was clearly food left, they asked us if we still wanted to eat and if they could clean it up, which made me really question the kind of manners they had. Another server came to ask one more time and strongly stated that they were still eating, but it was very revealing that they thought of Asians as money. It really compares to the way the servers at the tables next to us treat foreigners. I have never experienced service like this while traveling in Australia. It was the place where I spent the most money but felt the worst. And if you look at the kimchi gratin they sell (a menu item that no one can tell is a sniper to Koreans), they say it's a place that a lot of Koreans visit, but I can't help but think that it's just a hogang that treats them like this. Even though they pour water in between, there's no basic excuse me. It was also shocking to see the food being served gushingly, as if splashing water. To be honest, there are many good jazz performances and high-quality bars in Korea these days, so I don't think it's a place worth going to. Let’s all make memories in Sydney! There are probably many people who think about making reservations with this thought in mind, but I don’t think there is any need for Koreans to spend money on places like this. I also want to turn back time! I purposely use a translator and keep the spelling correct so that foreigners can also read it. Racial discrimination in today's world. There are a lot of good bars and restaurants in Sydney, and there are a lot of delicious things to eat, so go there. Please. I feel such a waste of money I wasted on this place. The food is much more delicious elsewhere!

This was our first visit to Hubert and we already can’t wait to come back. The service when efficient, professional, and very friendly. The head sommelier’s wine recommendation beautifully matched our meal, which was unquestionably, one of the best we’ve ever had. We ordered the oysters, scallop and prawn toast, Roe Boat, their notorious Homard a’ l’Ail vert, and the apple miso tarte tatin to finish. Our candlelit lunch was complimented with a live jazz trio, lead by Mr. Calvin Welch. Their performance was so good, that we ordered a second bottle of wine just to keep watching and listening. The whole experience was excellent and worth every cent. We will certainly return next year. Merci beaucoup!

The other employees were friendly, but the handsome male employee who looked like Harry Potter and wore glasses made me uncomfortable because I felt like he was being racist.

It seems to be a place that Koreans like. Compared to other restaurants, there were more Koreans. The atmosphere was nice and the jazz performance was good.

Restaurant Hubert is one of those restaurants all Sydney-Siders should visit at least once in their lives.

Stepping through the unassuming doors on Blight St you walk down the stairs with intrigue and excitement.

And when you arrive in the restaurant you feel as though you've been transported to another country. The wonderful decor and Jazz music fool the senses into thinking you are in a downtown Parisian restaurant.

The food is in one word - exquisite. We treated ourselves to the $165pp Banquet and were treated to 'the greatest hits' of Hubert and it definitely did not disappoint. Our Top 3 dishes were the Crab et Espelette, Tartare de Thon & Chateaubriand, but to be honest it was all exceptionally delicious.

So why the 4 stars? First of all, the sheer number of patrons in the restaurant cheapens the experience a bit. We ended up with a bill nearing $1000 for 4 people and yet felt like just another number in the restaurant. Secondly, our waiter - while polite - was more interested in upselling anything and everything rather than actually showing interest in us and what we wanted to eat. And finally, while the food was special in all of the right ways the $1000 price tag was special in all of the wrong ways and felt far too exorbitant (even for fine dining).

Would we come back though? In a heart beat!

Always a good time at Restaurant Hubert. The food, service, and atmosphere (especially the live jazz) never fail to amaze me every time. Some waiters were a little pushier than others when it came to ordering more food or drinks, but aside from that I’ve always had an exceptional experience.

Dreaming of: oysters, crab, tuna tartare (paired with Chablis), mushroom, wagu t-bone, kimchi gratin (paired with a Burgundy or Brunello) and the choccie tarte (with an espresso martini). All while sitting in 1920s Paris (ahem Sydney 2021). Cannot wait to step back into Restaurant Hubert, lose track of time, enjoy the fantastic service and the highest quality produce. À bientôt!

Very intimate and romantic atmosphere perfect for a date night with your beloved or with friends! The food was good however not suitable for vegetarians. Glad that I eat fish! The service at the bar counter was very good as the staff was always taking care of you. (Thank you to to lady with pink hair, sorry I don't remember your name, that even if wearing the mask she was always smiling)

Great food, great service, great wines, great venue. Only reason I'm not giving 5 is it is very expensive for the type of food it is. Banquet is $110 or $150 roughly, they give heaps of food but it's a heavy price once you start adding drinks.

Hubert did not disappoint. Everything was impeccably presented and tasted divine! Came back for my birthday as last time we were seated in the bar section with a limited menu. Service was excellent with drinks being provided promptly, more bread served to allow us to enjoy the duck parfait and dip into the xo sauce with the escargot (probably not the usual thing to do but it just seemed wasteful not to!) And plates removed in a timely manner. The beef tartare and yellowfin tuna tartare was exquisite. So fresh and light. Then came the 1kg wagyu T-bone - cooked and flavoured to perfection - went well with the salad and roasted garlic. We did not manage to finish it but it was worth taking home and devouring the next day! Last but not least the madeleines.a new favourite of mine such that I've gone home to learn how to make these beauties! Thank you for such a lovely dinner experience. Will sure to be back!

Second time here and just as good as the first. Service is quick and efficient and the food is fresh and lovely. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere special. The atmosphere is romantic and relaxed at the same time and the staff are really lovely. Definitely recommend.

My new favourite restaurant in Sydney! What an amazing restaurant, fantastic set up, very cosy and pleasant, perfect lighting, temperature and noise levels. This is an ideal place for a date!
Most importantly their food is absolute perfection. Raw scallops are something else, steak and clams.wow! Service was super attentive and friendly, the manager does a great job at running this operation.

Best happy hour in Sydney. I loved the cocktails and my partner said the burger was one of the best he's ever had (and he has eaten a lot of burgers).

A favorite of mine for 3 reasons:
1) Live Jazz - Sydney has a shortage of high end live music venues that serve exceptional food.
2) Service - Shout out to Andy W.and his team!
3) Crème Caramel - Best in town!

Make a night out of Hubert, you won't be disappointed!

Came here on a Monday night, ordered the steak tartare. Texture was bad. Had nausea and stomach discomfort. My friend who came experienced the same things, so we can be sure it was Hubert. Disappointing for a classier venue that quality control was not there.

Do not serve old raw meat to your customers! If you can’t give fresh ingredients on a Monday, don’t open on a Monday.

Wouldn’t come here again. There are better steak tartare done by Continental Deli and Felix in the city.
