Good experience here. Reception staff helpful, kind, understanding and proffessional. I was served by Rara she went out of her way to come collect me from bottom floor at my 1st time to the clinic in Woolomoloo.
I see Dr Lam Potang, he has listened to my needs and wants and worked with me to manage my medication.
Thankyou to the whole red tree practice team.

Don’t go to Dr. Elizabeth Mackenzie.she all ego and just wants to pump you with pills. She doesn’t care about your story, just wants to get you out of her room in time for the next patient, which made me nervous. I told her I don’t react well to meds and I react well to exercise, she didn’t listen, then says I’ll put you on these meds, then I’ll up the dose and give you a 2nd pill, then I’ll up those and give you a 3rd pill. And I’m thinking this woman is not listening. I only had anxiety worsened during covid, why do you want to pump me with pills? !
She gave these uncommon meds with a very high cost and very high suicide warnings etc. I emailed her and told her my concerns. No response. I called her secretary which said the Dr will eventually respond. The Dr NEVER did. I went through hell and back with those meds horrible reactions, nightmares etc and she never got back to me. So I had to stop and stopped going to her. Don’t go to her. These people should not be in this sensitive profession.

Great service all round. Doctors are empathetic and caring, and support staff are friendly and helpful. Bookings are a breeze using hotdoc or calling in to reception. Highly recommend

I've been seeing Dr Boulton for almost 2 years now and he has been so helpful and compassionate every step of the way through my ADHD journey, from diagnosis to management. Even though I haven't been able to meet him in person yet because of the impact of Covid, even through phone and video consultations he has always made me feel very comfortable and is super approachable, which I think speaks to the kind of care he provides. He'll always point me in the right direction to learn more about my condition and takes all of my questions seriously, explaining things in detail and providing me with additional resources and materials to better my understanding. He's also always incredibly prompt and quick to return any letters or forms I've needed him to fill out (which from experience, is very rare). The reception and admin team have also always been really friendly and helpful whenever I've needed it. Would absolutely recommend the practice and especially Dr Boulton.

Would not recommend at all. Please save your money and try someone else who actually cares. James Zurek is very unprofessional and incorrectly diagnosed me when I was very vulnerable and trusted him. It has taken two years to speak up about how I was treated. I wish I had never seen James Zurek, but now I know not to see another Psychiatrist again.

Dr Matt Boulton @ Red Tree Practice is a gifted psychiatrist and very personable. He takes the time to really listen, he is easy to talk to, and provides invaluable feedback.

I have been seeing Dr Boulton for approximately five years. It is hard to express how I feel, but I will do my best. Dr Boulton has a very gentle but strong manner. He is very knowledgeable in all areas of mental health. I believe he has an holistic approach to medicine in the way he treats me and the professional care he gives.
Dr Boulton goes to great lengths to make sure my mental health is stable and always looks for ways for me to improve my health both physically and emotionally.
I would highly recommend Dr Boulton to any body who is struggling with mental health.

Red Tree is a great practice with doctors who combine their knowledge and expertise to provide exceptional care to their patients. Dr French is terrific. He is knowledgeable, honest, understanding, caring and has a true ability to connect with his patients and provide them with tailored care specific to their needs. Dr French has ensured that in every session I have always felt very respected, cared for and comfortable, even when things were difficult. I can't speak highly enough of Dr French and the team at Red Tree Practice.

Red Tree Practice well & truly deserves a 5 star rating.
Dr Matthew Boulton exceeds expectations. He's very professional yet charismatic and personable. I've paid the same rate for a psychiatrist in the past who just wrote a medication script. Dr Boulton takes a holistic approach, helping you with multiple avenues of treatment/care. Some of the more negative reviews may be due to reception interactions, some admin staff members could improve by being more freindly & helpful. Overall I have found the whole team to be pretty good and the care I have received definitely deserves 5 stars

I really hate writing negative reviews but I feel I have to in this case, so that others may not have the same issue with this practice. I sent a referral from my GP, in January, JANUARY. After not hearing anything for a month I rang the practice to see if the psychiatrist had accepted my referral. I was then told she was on maternity leave; this being completely fine, I waited another couple of months as I was doing well with just a psychologist at the time. I rang back to check when she would be returning to work, and I was told that she had finished maternity leave months ago and just didn't return to the practice. That I don't mind. What I do mind is the admin telling me that they can see my referral (since January) sitting in their system and no one deemed it appropriate to call and tell me the psychiatrist didn't work there anymore.

Now getting stressed I asked if there was another psychiatrist who specialized in personality disorders and was told they didn't know and that there were 3 psychs taking on new referrals. I asked them how long it would take for them to accept or reject my referral and was told they would call me in a week to tell me the outcome. That was 3 months ago. I have thankfully found a great psychiatrist elsewhere and the reception there emailed me within an HOUR of receiving it and was organizing my first consult by calling me soon after.

Thank God I have great support and other healthcare practitioners who help me with my mental illness, because I can tell you that scenario is such a stressful thing to go through and I don't want others to have to deal with it.

I just received an email from you stating that there were no available psychiatrists to take me on. 3 MONTHS LATER.

Do better for your potential patients and perhaps get a better system in place for taking on referrals. It's disgraceful.

So in short, please find another practice if you want psychological help. This is not it.

Mean admin staff completely lacking in empathy. If I suffer from a very particular type of psychosis that is difficult to treat it is not as simple as "talking to my gp"

People like you are what's wrong with the mental health system in Australia

Saw Dr. Boulton today and he was incredible. He was like a Psychologist and Psychiatrist in one. Listened to everything that was on my mind and gave me some great coping tools. Took a while to get an appointment (Over 3 months) but hang in there - it's so worth it.

I have tried calling your practice multiple times and no one answers. Left voicemails and no one responds. I sent my referral letter a week ago and have received no reply. How do you properly engage in the psychology of others if basic courtesy is not even in your repertoire?

Same as the other reviews. For a fact that they get referrals for people with mental health problems and they simply ignore them, I even question whether they are causing more harm than good. Appaling.

Cant recommend Dr Adam Bayes enough, very professional and also empathetic, came up with a plan and helped me out heaps; even when I moved from Sydney ongoing treatment can be provided by tele-psychiatry

The reception staff have been really nice and accommodating, feel very welcome each time I go

Thanks for everything:), very lucky to have been treated here

Dr Bayes was recommended to me by a professional in the field. I obtained a referral from my GP and faxed it off. One week went by, nothing. I called and was told Dr Bayes had not yet processed his correspondence. I called a week later, same result and the following week, same result. I was told he would be in touch, 2 months later, still nothing.

Not only is this unprofessional, it is simply very poor customer service. Regardless of wether you are Psychiatrist or a Carpenter, call the customer back and keep them updated. What makes it even worse of course is that in this instance, your clients are experiencing mental health issues. To not have the courtesy to return their phone calls is just not on.

He may be a good Psychiatrist, I’ll never know, but don’t waste your time. Contact a professional who behaves professionally and with respect for their clients.

James Zurek is very, very bad at his job. Handles patients in a business like fashion and has very little insight or empathy. I suspect he has succeeded to this point in this career due to his ability to memorise theory. His lack of ability to connect on a human to human level is bordering on psychopathic.

They didnt look at my referral for a month, then didnt even notify me to let me know that nobody wishes to accept it. Over the phone when i rang to follow up, i was encouraged upon asking that perhaps i should try somewhere else. Unprofessional, very dissapointed.

It took 2 months for Dr Harris, to whom i was referred, to call me back. For child psychiatry. When she finally did: apparently she doesn't give "free sessions". She was referring to the mental health plan put in place by the public system for my child after extensive psychometric tests and many visits to phycolgists. Upon conclusion, she sent me back through the sytem id just come from, finishing the call with "sorry Mrs ××××× i don't do free sessions ". The assumption I was married is horrifying. I didn't assume she was a male Dr! Think my son has dodged a bullet from the "private practice".

We were hoping Dr Harris could see our child so, on Lucia's advice, we obtained a proper referral from the GP. When we sent the referral to Red Tree, Lucia told us Dr Harris was not accepting new patients. Why weren't we told that upfront? Such a complete disrespect of both the patient's and the GP's time!
