Rathmines Theatre

Beaitoful open hall with lots of historical significance. A small raaf museum for the ww2 base that was located here at Rathmines is located just inside the main entrance, donations aren't required but very graciously accepted. Certain events like band concerts and arts & craft are held here. Council pamphlets are on display in the front foyer near the toilets.

We went here to view a painting exhibition.

The theatre itself was pretty nice for the area, and it’s in a very beautiful location.

Alas good for size but not able to see any photos or articles of when husband's father stationed there. Disappointed but not giving up.

A fantastic job on restoration of the old hall.
The display area is changed periodically to keep the facility alive.
Plenty of parking and easy acces.
And of course a great location on the edge of Lake Macquarie.
Well worth a visit!

A great night watching a movie in a beautifully decorated historic building
while enjoying lots of nibbles and wines. Friendly staff. Would love to do that again.

Attended an art course there in conjunction with an Art Exhibition.
Multiple Art Courses available during the exhibition - many different types of classes using different media and most were designed to allow beginners, upwards to attend. Also demonstrations held by renowned artists!
Excellent day! Excellent artists teaching and sharing their knowledge.
Everyone was very friendly and relaxed. My class were all very happy with their end result in Arcrylic Landscape.
I'd highly recommend these workshops as they were very cheap, and it was a great day out with like minded people.
The Art Exhibition was amazing - worth the trip to view the paintings alone!

Great show well presented and with audience participants in the show made the night evan better. Portable blow heaters to reduce the cold night would have made it the perfect 10

Excellent new renovation, lovely acoustics, nice piano and very clean, spacious, air-conditioned, well lit dressing rooms. Concert was a great success, thankyou.

Fantastic theatre, beautifully renovated. Had a great morning with my granddaughters at the Dobell festival artclasses. The whole area was beautiful on the lake, park and picnic areas.

Lovely little theatre with a lot of history. Came along to see a musical number: enjoyable show with a good selection of snacks, beer, and wine available, along with free tea and coffee.
