I was first contacted by Tre two months before I was ready to sell my apartment in Brookvale and assumed he was just another real estate agent trying to sell my property. I agreed that I’d call him back closer to listing it on the market and get his opinion along with other agents in the area. Tre took it upon himself to drop off some marketing material about Raine and Horne between our conversations. I later contacted him when I was ready and was pleasantly surprised to him answer “Hello Michael”. I later received more marketing material of recent sales in the area, hand delivered to my unit door by Tre. It was this extra effort that he had went to to get my business that separated them from the previous agents that I had met, that made me decide to sell through Aaron and the team at Raine and Horne Dee Why. The fact that Tre had just started a few months earlier with the business and was only 18 showed me that he had a bright future ahead of him and was willing to put in the extra effort.

What Raine and Horne Dee Why lacks in a larger team, they more than make up for in personal service. Aaron, gave me the utmost confidence in selling my unit with him and his team when he inspected the property and complimented me on how well it was presented. After communicating with me about his business and team, recent sales within the area and the benefits of selling through auction, I made the decision to sell with Aaron. He made a couple of suggestions to declutter as well as installing new lights that would help brighten the unit up more and this was done with little effort from my part. The next day his team came through and took the photos and my unit was listed the following afternoon and I was blown away at how amazing it looked.

After the first weekend open for inspection, Aaron called me and notified me that he had a buyer that was more than keen to purchase the property and whilst I was a little concerned about accepting the first offer, as good as it was, Aaron went above and beyond to get more than what I initially wanted. I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome, or the overall experience I’ve had with Raine and Horne.

Stella has also been amazing at organising any tradesman that I’ve required throughout the process. Even at short notice, she was able to organise two trades to come and make last minutes fixes to the property, which was a blessing and peace of mind knowing that it would be one less hassle for me to look after.

As a Solicitor of 38 year standing, I have dealt with a lot of estate agencies in a number of contexts. Your agency impressed me.

Our ask was a big one. We wanted to liquidate the property to maximise its value before the market adjusted as a result of interest pressure anticipated to follow the forthcoming federal election.

To optimise property price, I also needed to renovate the property. A scary thought given that I did not have trade contacts in the area. I was having nightmares about repeated drives to Sydney in the rain and tradesmen failing to turn up.

The property had been owned by a deceased relative who was ill, and who had been in hospital for several months before she passed, it was cluttered, and in poor repair but had ‘good bones’- you assisted by arranging the clearing of the property, its cleaning, recarpeting, repainting, you assisted with the selection and acquisition of light fittings, new stove top, dishwasher and reflooring of the kitchen, and then engaged marketing consultants to style and furnish the property for display, all within an obscenely tight one month time line! The cost of work also surprised me, as your relationship with tradesmen clearly enabled you to not only get work done quickly but also at a very good price even with comparable quotes.

On the ‘sale’ side of things, you kept me informed, and worked hard to achieve a high price. While initially skeptical, your use of ‘What's app’ assisted in keeping me informed in real time of issues that did not require a phone call.

Additionally, I was impressed by your ethics. One professional criticism I have of some agents is the practice of ‘buying listings’. You were honest from day one. Your initial appraisal was the third lowest as a result of a recent sale in the block which you reported to me, yet you achieved a price toward the upper end of what two agents had quoted me ‘site unseen’- that they could never have achieved given the condition of the property at that stage.

Worst property management ever! Lost my keys and denied it (despite email confirming they had them). Refused to attend tribunal when tenant ruined carpet. Sent through amended T&Cs advising no changes just a change in name… only to review it and all fees had significantly increased. Principal said he’d call to discuss & never did. While this all happened some time ago.still annoys me today agents get away with this unprofessional behaviour, no other industry would.

Jonathan Powell is fantastic, his all round experience and industry knowledge is impeccable. Jonathan is extremely approachable and all round an extremely friendly person. I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone who is looking for an experienced property manager that actually cares!

Absolutely outstanding service i think everyone should know when someone goes the extra mile. Skye was absolutely a pleasure to deal, with we didn't get the rental we applied for but Skye made the time and effort to text me out of hours and explain why she even offered me other properties.
