I suspect this company is not what it was a few years ago when it was garnering very positive reviews. Our experience started out well in mid-2020 but deteriorated over the next two years; despite promising to be very present and responsive, we only saw Rich at the very beginning and towards the end of our 'relationship' (two years later), by which time we were thoroughly fed up by the endless delays and failures of him and his designer to respond promptly to our emails, calls and messages. By the beginning of 2021 we wanted out, and offered to cancel our agreement if we got some of our money back, as by then we'd deduced that Quercus just wasn't interested in our job. This triggered the only immediate response we ever got from Rich: he remonstrated (though we suspect only because he didn't want to refund any of our money) that Quercus really did want to complete our garden. There followed another few months of zero communication from Quercus and delayed start times for the work to begin. Then, on the very day Quercus was due to start, we got a text message from Rich at 6.20am, saying that he was ill and the workmen wouldn't be turning up. We never heard from him or anyone else at Quercus again, despite several emails and numerous phone messages. Overall, over the two years of our unhappy association, we emailed Quercus 42 times. In the end, we went to the Office of Fair Trading to try and get some of our $3,000 back (for breach of contract - we'd paid this much on the understanding, contained in a written agreement, that Quercus would build our garden according to the design we'd paid for, but which technically didn't even belong to us). And guess what, Quercus even ignored the attempts by the OFT to get them to communicate with us. So after two years and $3,000, we had to start all over again with someone else. Very disappointing and upsetting, and incredibly unprofessional and shoddy behaviour on the part of Quercus, we think. So be very careful. PS: Their office address is no longer in Waverley, as stated on their website or Google entry.

Avoid this company. Having paid them to design our garden, they failed to turn up on the day they were due to start work and have avoided all attempts to contact them since. Don’t give them your business as they are complete cowboys.

Quercus designed a beautiful and functional plan for our medium sized yard, which met all of our design criteria.

The implementation of this plan was not so pretty. We were given an estimated timeframe of 8-10 weeks, however the project took 7 months. At multiple times throughout the project the team would start building/working on something that was different to the plan. We were left to make multiple requests that the plan be stuck to and reimplemented. Every construction item in our quote had issues and was either "too hard" or lacked attention to detail. In the end we ran out of patience and the project was not implemented as planned.

We strongly recommend that you do not use this company for any form of construction - they are out of their depth.

If you do decide to go ahead with them, we suggest
- make sure your contact has an end date
- agree up front on what work will be completed before the half way payment is made

The design itself was great. And the plants which were planned and planted are looking amazing

We love our new courtyard space - it's transformed what was a pretty unappealing space most of the year round into an extra room for the house. The garden is fantastic - citrus, herbs and lots of ornamentals, all coming to life in spring. Lots of highlights but the cedar bifold door separating the yard from the garage stands out.

Quercus Gardens have transformed our garden areas into a work of art! Their workmanship is excellent. Richard was very professional and communicated very well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to beautify their outside space.

Rich and the team were excellent. Their quality of work, knowledge and the "can do attitude" make them the perfect choice if you are looking to add some real green value to your place. They made our home a sanctuary. Thanks!

Quercus transfromed our sad garden into something special, great team to have on site, easy people to work with. I recommend them.

2nd appointment.no follow up, and no show. 3 phone calls without any reply. Guess they just fall off the planet if it isn't inner city, or doesn't fit the perceived demographic.
