Location and scenery is beautiful but left the restaurant very disappointed. Our first dish was king fish sashimi, outstanding, it was looking promising, but the rest of the dishes were disappointing and way over priced. I would of not noticed a difference for a takeaway Chinese joint. Not sure if it was a bad day in the kitchen but it was disappointing. Sweet and sour pork was chewy and there was no pine apple. The fried rice was nice but very expensive for what we got served. The honey prawns had a massive layer of deep dough which wasn't fully cooked and inside a small prawn. Disappointing.

Very bad experience! Last Sunday I went to Queen Chow Manly.
I'm very disappointed with Queen Chow Manly, I find a hair in my food. One hair in my pancake (paking duck pancake 57$) I informed them, they just changed one pancake for me. And then I saw all chef working in that kitchen no one wear hat. I’m not going back to this restaurant anymore.

Queen Chow Manly is always a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a fabulous dining experience. The food is innovative and absolutely delicious. The décor is fresh and the atmosphere is spacious and welcoming in a great location on Manly Wharf. It is not overly noisy even when very full. The staff are fabulous, professional and very attentive. A big thanks to Mallie for helping us navigate the menu and select the wines to accompany the food. A little $$$ but well worth the dining experience. Highly recommend.

Hi guys I came in a year ago to look at the chefs the food tasted 5 Stars and a 10/10 Friendly Staff great Service and Great Atmosphere, The Chefs were also very talented at what they were cooking and the Manager was friendly to me I came across from Circular Quay on the Manly Ferry on that day and the food and staff were amazing also the tables and bathroom were very clean and hygienic.

Fabulous evening had a Queen Chow Manly. The food, wine and service was impeccable. I'm finding service at the high level of Queen Chow Manly more difficult to come by at other establishments. Our hostess, Audrey, was attentive, thoughtful and complimented such a lovely evening of dining.

Stopped by this place for a quick lunch. We didn’t have reservation and we were happy to be seated next to the window. Ambiance is lovely and our waitress was attentive and friendly, service quick. We shared crispy skin chicken, vegetarian fried rice that did have bit of a fishy taste and Asian greens were highlight of our meal, whilst other two dishes were just all right. Also for drinks I had the best Mojito cocktail I had in a while- compliments to barman

I was a little disappointed. The ambience is great but we had several different waiters and the food was bland. The fried rice tasted like steamed rice. I had to ask for my wine to be filled up every time. Our dishes were very spread out and arrived at random times. I wasnt sure what was going on tbh. They forgot a few of our orders and again, i had to remind them. It seemed all over the shop.

Some of the best Chinese feed I've had. What made the experience even better was our waiter Dev. I took my boss there who is gluten intolerant and devs in-depth knowledge of ingredients and what/wasn't gluten free impressed my boss. It was a 10/10 experience and even though I live in the shire, I'd happily make my way out to manly again for this

If you are after a quiet and nice dinner - this is not the place for You. It's ridiculously loud and I walked away with a headache.

Setting is very nice facing over the water and You can watch ferries come in.
Staff was very friendly.

Food was good, but for the price we were expecting amazing food.
Definitely don't recommend honey prawns - they tasted so oily, but fried rice and Char Siu pork were lovely.
Cocktails are tiny and they are $23.50 each. Much more expensive than other lovely cocktail places in Manly.

My watress was quite rude, food was acceptable but the racial epithets coming from the kitchen were not. Could not recommend to any POC or allies thereof.

Amazing experience, booked online for my husband’s birthday. We got the perfect table with the most amazing view, service was spot on by Alice all the staff were so polite, easy going and very professional. Last but not least the food! Well done chefs. Prawn toast highly recommended. Will be back!

Went for a work Christmas lunch on the 16th. It was extremely busy and very noisy. The set menu was delicious, the only thing that let them down was their desserts. The caramel tart tastes burnt and the taro dessert is definitely an acquired taste

We walked in without a booking and we’re seated at the window behind a post as no tables were available. We found the menu a bit limiting, but each chose a prawn dish, me garlic prawns, my husband honey prawns. Everything is sold separately, so rice an veg were extra. My garlic prawns were large and nice but hardly any garlic. My husband’s prawns were baby shrimp in an egg white sugary batter. They were puffed up in a sugary syrup, not honey. It was disappointing. A bottle of Shaw & Smith Sauv Blanc was reasonable.

Our 1st visit to Queen Chow Manly on Sept was a wonderful dining experience. So we decided to go again today to celebrate my mum’s birthday. Once again, the food and service was fantastic. Highly recommend!
From: A very happy return customer.

I rarely go to the trouble of posting a negative review for a restaurant because I'm sure there are good and bad days in every business, however last Saturday evening I was so looking forward to Queen Chow in Manly.
The staff were terrific, décor modern and inviting with a great location however the food left a lot to be desired.
A tasting plate @ $98.00 for two people was suggested, however when we received the bill we were very surprised to find out it was actually $98 p/p. (was that listed on the menu?).
We would not have minded if the food was up to an anticipated standard.
The prawn toast topped with Caviar (+ extra $15.00) was tasteless, salt and pepper prawns were over salted and tasteless, duck pancake with a salty (soy) sauce.
Several other dishes were very nice however the dishes on the tasting plate was not a balanced.
I wondered if the chefs had bothered to taste their cooking prior to service as most of the dishes were over salted and lacking in any taste/flavour.
We will not be going back.

Had a lovely meal tonight BUT we had the lobster. I don’t know about anywhere that puts a premium on a lobster such as this…
Pippies or lobster were the only choices in the market price category and the waitress mumbled a price that I didn’t catch.
When the bill came they charged $286 just for the lobster! Never again…it ruined our night. To me that’s a total rip off. $100-150 I would have swallowed. This is just customer gouging!

Service was excellent with a really high Merivale standard, though the food was very disappointing. First of all, lack of authenticity would never make it a Chinese food, second, the food was not tasting good either (Tsa siu pork was having a strong porky odour, duck tasted plain with no flavour, food weren’t served hot). Overpriced for the quality of food as you would get a much better quality food with half the price at the ordinary Chinese restaurants.

Amazing experience. Dined a few times at Queen Chow Manly and from greeting to paying the bill, always a great experience. Recommend the steamed dim sums - best I’ve had and salt & pepper calamari is moreish. Service is welcoming, the staff are always attentive and genuinely seem to care about providing a high standard of service.

“Chinese” food for white people too scared to cross the Harbour Bridge. If you’re used to real Chinese food, or if you have tastebuds, I wouldn’t bother.
