QTea High Tea by QT Sydney reviews
14 Experience was eh, and not worth the money.
Our reservation was at 1: 15pm. We got there at 1: 10pm and was told our table wasn’t ready yet. There were a few open tables, but not a big deal, we waited. 10 minutes passed and another employee came over and asked what we needed. He said he’d go check if our table was ready. We waited for another 10 minutes as the employees walked by us, whispered to each other, and seemed like they were scrambling. They then sat us at a table that had already been empty for the last 20 minutes, which was strange.
Similar to other reviews, there was no one walking us through the menu or explaining anything to us. Something I’d expect for service at a nice high tea experience.
Tea was good - they brought the wrong one but quickly adjusted.
We had to ask for refreshed plates after cutting up the savory items so that we didn’t mix things like tomatoes and feta with sweet desserts. They seemed confused about that.
Food was decent. As others mentioned, pastries were very sweet and we left with sugar headaches.
There were kids running around, rolling on the floor, screaming crying, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a high class experience.
We came here as part of our honeymoon and it was mentioned in our reservation as the purpose. No one acknowledged it with a simple congratulations or a quick chat asking what brings us here.
Unfortunately really the only way to try Zumbo’s in the area now, so you may have to come here if that’s what you’re interested in.
A high tea not to be missed. I was impressed from the moment we were greeted by a friendly lady with a pill box hat on at the entry. Food was superb. Highly recommend
Diego and Gregory were great, food was amazing and the teas were delicious. Highly recommend the blueberry tea and the chocolate tea
Visited this place to have high tea with my friends and we absolutely loved it. The service from Diego and Gregory were amazing and we felt so welcomed and cared for the whole time. My friend also had her own plant based gluten free menu so she didn’t feel left out the whole time, and she enjoyed it. I highly recommend coming here to have a great time, the menu selection was delicious and we loved every tea selection? 5/5!
Our waitress was lovely, and our experience up until we arrived was great. However that’s where the compliments end. We waited over an hour for our (pre-prepared) food to be served despite asking 3 times for it to be brought out. Each time we asked, we were told “sure, no worries” - and then no food would arrive. We had a 2 hour seating, and 30 mins after the food had (finally) been served we were asked to settle the bill and told the table would be needed shortly for the next booking. I found this terribly inconsiderate - for one hour we sat there with nothing but tea (even that was hard to come by). We had the $95 p.p set menu - the food itself was sub-par. There was way too much sweet food, hardly any savoury and none of it made sense served together. So much food was left behind - none of us wanted to take it home and I certainly left hungry. Disappointingly, I definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here and I’m quite embarrassed that I’d hyped it up so much to my family, some who travelled quite far to attend including my Mum for Mother’s Day. If it wasn’t for the waitresses customer service at the beginning of the seating, this rating would be a 1 star.
One of my favourite high teas! The menu was amazing and provided for a unique experience. The decor is bohemian and definitely not what you expect for a high tea. The service was great and the staff were really friendly. Highly recommend.
Savory was so so so good and very impressive!
Andrea provides a nice service make us feel more than satisfied.
We will come back for sure!
Absolutely loved it!
The staff were so lovely and the food was fantastic! Diego was wonderful and very helpful.
There was so much variety and they managed to make even the simplest of dishes exciting and creative.
I have visited many high tea places around sydney, this one by far was one of my favourite experiences!
The menu takes you on a journey and the presentation was excellent. The quality of food was up to high standards and their tea was so good - I would recommend their burnt blueberry tea - so good had to take a tea bag home!
My daughter loved it. This is our fourth high tea in Sydney and by far the best. Great service and vibe. Atmosphere is something else too.
Best high tea in Sydney. So inventive and beautiful. Loved the DJ and the fabulous champagne menu!
QTea was phenomenal! The presentation of the High Tea was so beautiful and the service was precise and considered. Each and every morsel was absolutely delicious, innovative and visually stunning. From the next level lobster rolls that I will be dreaming of, to the passion fruit tart that was a party in my mouth, and of course the scones that had a little QT twist were delightful!
I will be back very soon! Best High Tea in Sydney!
The place was somewhat hard to find, we were seated in the Italian restaurant downstairs despite informing the people there we have reservation for QTea and showing them the reservation. The poor lady probably was swamped and just seated us to get it over with. Anyways, we walked out and back in (lol) someone finally asked if they could help us, and we showed them the reservation, she let us go into the elevator to QT. It was a high tea place as well as a hotel.
We presented ourselves to the counter as instructed, the staff thought we had room reservation instead.
Aanyways, we finally got seated for QTea. We had a look at the menu and waited, and waited.umm was something supposed to happen?
We kept looking at staff but everyone seemed to have tunnel vision. A lady eventually informed us of the procedure.we ordered our teas and then waited.and waited.they didn't put our tea order through. The gentleman approached us and asked if we were ready to order, we already did. He checked that our teas were not put in. He expedited it and our teas came pretty quick thereafter. The food came pretty quickly after the tea was served.
Now that the rocky start is out of the way, the positives that redeemed the review. Food and tea was excellent, the ambience was excellent, nice comfy couches, good cutlery, not overly loud music. Was a relaxing atmosphere to unwind from the hours fighting crowds to get some shopping done.
Each food item in the set menu was absolutely enjoyable. You start with the savoury at the bottom and work your way up to the sweet items eventually to the top where the macarons are at.
Should you visit it once? Yes.
Would you go again? Maybe if a few things changed.
Wow…. What an absolutely amazing experience. Undoubtedly the best High Tea experience that I have had. Beautiful setting and incredible food. Friendly and helpful staff too. Thank you.
