With absolutely no hesitation about time zones or anything else, Michael was prepared to continue in the process with twice-a-daily catch ups over Whatsapp, and we even went to an auction with me on the phone giving him instructions (really nothing is a barrier for this guy). We were introduced to the property buyer east by a real estate agent when we started to shop around for houses.

We knew what kind of property we would like to buy, however we quickly learned that it wasn’t that easy in our case.
Being still a foreigner to this beautiful country we learned that our hunt for a house was subject to FIRB (Foreign Investment Review Board) which includes an enormous amount of extra regulations and limited us to a complete new built. At that point we realised that we need professional help.

That was when Michael came into the game and reached out to his extensive network to see what is on the market or currently being built within our budget. Michael arranged the first inspections very soon after the buyers brief was completed and discussed and he showed us a few properties as comparison and to show us what other properties for similar budgets are looking like. I have recently come out of years of unpleasant divorce proceedings. I wanted to find myself a home but found the process daunting and just couldn’t seem to find something that met my budget and criteria. In the end, a real estate agent recommended Munro Donen to me as a Buyer’s Agent and what a stroke of good fortune it was to have him guiding me through this overwhelming process!

After an initial meeting where we discussed what I was looking for, Munro set to work and clearly put in a huge amount of effort inspecting and culling properties before he showed me. He was very attentive and reported to me several times a day about various properties. Over the next two weeks we spent hours together inspecting properties, racing from one place to the next. Clearly, Munro listened to what I wanted and only showed me relevant properties. This saved me a lot of time and aggravation.

Munro’s concern about my needs and his work ethic were outstanding – nothing was too much trouble. It was a long journey of about 7 months as our budget changed a couple of times due to somewhat unclear indications from our banks. Munro responded quickly and patiently and helped reassess strategy and develop different options. We covered many areas, including the Eastern Suburbs, Pyrmont and Inner West, and looked at houses, semi-detached and apartments. With the great efforts of Munro, we believe we left no stone unturned, and it would not have been possible without him. We finally got a nicely finished semi-detached in Concord.

Munro has a sound knowledge of the market and gave us invaluable input on all sorts of units we examined. My wife used to live in Sydney, but we could not be there in person for inspections due to logistic reasons. Whenever we identified something, he was swift in arranging inspections and coming up with sound research and insights. He has a good network around him, including building inspectors, lawyers, mortgage brokers and property managers, who are all very professional and responsive. We greatly appreciated the support and enjoyed the experience.
