Project Dao - Acupuncture & Remedial Massage

I have had such a fantastic experience at Project Dao. I have had a chronic knee injury for the past 2 years, and have seen at least 10 allied health professionals who had no idea what the problem is or how to help. Acupuncture with Yanan helped considerably with the pain and inflammation. After the pandemic lockdown I moved away, but continued to have telehealth sessions with John to begin to build up my strength again. I went from feeling incredibly disempowered and helpless with my pain, to a position to where imagining full recovery is a possibility. I have recovered most of my range of motion. I absolutely recommend both Yanan and John in the management of chronic health issues.

I attended online Taiji classes with John and found it to be very well structured with clear and precise tasks. Learning about posture, relaxation, breathing etc.through the Taiji form allowed me to afterwards implement in all daily life activities. I got a good amount of personal feedback and think John is a great teacher and you should definitely give it a try!

Project Dao is such a beautiful and calming space for healing. Yanan is truly a miracle worker whose talents need to be shared with the entire world.

Yanan is an amazing, professional acupuncturist! She treats you with such great care and always knows which questions to ask to help you discover the real causes of your symptoms. After my first appointment with Wilson I had instant results with the tension in my neck and back, which had been causing migraines (not one again since) he also took the time to explain various exercises and specific strategies I could use to strengthen that area. I recently moved back to Redfern and I’m a big fan of Project Dao. I’ve been going to alternative therapies like acupuncture and kinesiology for nearly 20 years. Yanan is by far one of the best practitioners I’ve had in this time. The entire staff is friendly and so knowledgeable and when you walk out after a session you feel you had a mini holiday. Not only have I utilized their excellent services like acupuncture and remedial massages, I also started to learn Tai Chi. John is an excellent teacher for a quite complex exercise. He is calm and clear in his instructions and I never feel I can’t ask a question when I take a bit longer to understand a certain move. I always wanted to find out more about Tai Chi. A free Qigong class by Project Dao led me to an introduction course for Tai Chi. It’s in Redfern Park and the atmosphere and diversity there makes me feel grateful to be part of this community. I highly recommend Tai Chi to anyone who is seeking a form of exercise that works the entire body and is meditative at the same time. In a very short time I’ve improved my posture, the health of my knees and my stress levels. Instead of chasing the day.the day is set and I feel aligned and connected to myself and my environment. Thank you John for teaching me skills that take me through the day and change my health in the long term.

I've had acupuncture, seen the chiropractor and the exercise physiologist at project Dao and had brilliant experiences with all, most importantly seeing a clear benefit to my health. The service is really professional but also very friendly and the practitioners consult with each other to give a holistic treatment that i haven't experienced elsewhere seeing individual specialists.

I've also started taking Tai Chi classes with Project Dao and love them! A fantastic way to start mornings and am loving picking up a new skill beneficial to my mind and body.

Beautiful and calming atmosphere. I had acupuncture and cupping done by the lovely Yanan Kim and it is clear that she is very knowledgeable and experienced in many areas of her practice. She was very easy to talk to and treated my pains effectively. I would highly recommend this practice.

I loved starting my Tai Chi journey with instructor John. He was kind and patient with us all as we stumbled through our foundation classes. It's harder than it looks and he practices with such grace and elegance! Bonus points for his humorous narration of mornings in Redfern Park.
