I trained with Sifu Arthur around 20 years ago. Since then I've trained with instructions across NSW and QLD in Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Kali-Silat, Brazilian Jujitsu and Krav Maga.

At Progressive Combat Systems (PCS), Sifu Arthur's knowledge is like gold dust - almost half a century of dedicated research & hard, hard training in many of the elite combat systems - used by the special forces eg. US Navy Seals.

Sifu teaches a system called Jeet Kune Do (JKD) - which was developed by Bruce Lee. JKD encompasses many prominent arts, notably Silat, trapping/ grappling & weaponry. It is a fascinating journey of learning.

Indeed, Sifu has learnt directly for many years from Guru Dan Inosanto (who is now 83 years old) - and a world authority on JKD. Guru Dan Inosanto was one of Bruce Lee's most trusted training partners.

Whether you're a beginner or advanced practitioner, whatever your age or gender, in Sifu Arthur's classes, there are no egos. After a few weeks attending, you will feel mentally & physically sharper - enlightened to what martial arts is about. While traditional martial arts systems teach students basic technique, Progressive Combat Systems focuses on real world situations.

The world is a dangerous place. If an individual faces immediate danger, it won’t help to know simply how to perform an attack. At Sifu Arthur classes - the goal is to protect oneself through whatever means necessary. Competition fighting and street fighting are two very different animals. At our Jeet Kun Do classes we focus on the latter, because that will be the skill that saves your life.

For a person that never trained this place was perfect. They made me feel comfortable and didn't judge and also i learnt very quickly. You get to have a go at everything and if u put in the work you can become great. After days of searching the internet to find the best martial arts school in Sydney I finally stumbled across Progressive Combat Systems. Being the first martial art school I've joined I thought it to be very intimidating. However, from the moment I walked in I was welcomed and accepted as a complete beginner. There is a saying that says something about striving to be 1% better each time you attend class but with Sifu's countless drills and the knowledge he shares with his students, you can expect to walk out 5-10% better each lesson.

My grappling game has improved so much thanks to Sifu Arthur, the techniques have definitely improved my jiujitsu:)
