I had bilateral knee replacement on Thu 2 Sep 2021. The surgery was performed by Dr Roger Brighton who had provided thoughtful advise leading up to the surgery. Roger and his practice manager Sonia Ghosn accommodated the myriad of challenges thrown up by the Covid Lock-down in Sydney to ensure that a hospital bed was available for me.

On Fri 10 Sep 2021 at 20: 45 I sent Dr Brighton the following SMS message and wanted to share that message with you.

“Hi Roger, I just wanted to thank you for my new knees which are responding well to physio. Your professionalism and skills have been showcased in how quickly I’m recovering. Please pass on my gratitude to Robert who assisted you in the operation, and Arch who keep me safe and comfortable during the surgery, and the Theatre staff who facilitated and supported the operation.
From my experience on the day you all demonstrated humanity, care and respect for another person which gave me great confidence that I would be Ok. We will all remember this operation as we share our 14 days of isolation. However, I’ll remember it as the day I got my mobility back! Thank you and best regards, Edward (Ed) Binney”

I have had knee issues for the last 30 years starting with a skiing injury in my late 20's.and early 30's when i had 6 consecutive surgeries that helped but limited my movement substantially.
After doing everything BUT surgery i finally had a right knee replacement, with Professor Waller.i was diligent with rehab and while it was a dedicated effort i can finally say, 6 months down the track, my life is completely different.i can move and engage with my adult children, instead of being on the sidelines.i feel totally liberated and without daily pain.i cannot recommend professor Waller high enough.

Saw Dr Waller for PRP treatment, which was a total failure and waste of time and money. When I went back, still in pain and disheartened because the treatment didn't work, he was dismissive and totally uninterested. Should have gone elsewhere.

Dr Waller is one of the nicest people you would ever meet. His professionalism, bed side manner and friendliness is fantastic.

Not only is he a brilliant surgeon but he is also so supportive and tentative to your needs. He explains technical things in plain English and makes you feel like your in the best hands possible.

I had a knee replacement and wow he did an awesome job. My knee settled down quickly and I am up and about through his great work and my rehab.

I highly recommend him if you require his services. You will not be disappointed.

Its been a long journey. Ruptured ACL in 1978, living with it until 1999 when I had to have it fixed. After discussing with 3 surgeons I chose Dr Craig Waller. The reconstruction went extremely well and lasted 21 years until the pain from arthritis (no cartilage) sent me back for a TKR. There was no hesitation about who would perform the operation. Dr Waller's administration and medical team were outstanding. 14 weeks later with some exceptional Rehab at ST Luke's Darlinghurst I have a pain free knee that allows me to do things I have not done for years.
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Waller to anyone.

Professor Craig Waller is an excellent and most professional Orthopedic Surgeon. My right knee injury was the result of a rugby incident in the 1980's, that did not create problems until around 2010.
My first consultation with Prof. Waller was in 2014. However, I put off a right knee replacement until it became unbearable in 2020.
Prof. Waller was able to arrange the "custom made replacement" which corrected the increasing "misalignment" of my right lower leg.
His skill was in not only operating and replacing the knee but also repairing the ligament and tendon damage.
This operation at St Vincent hospital was followed up by the first rate physiotherapy also at the hospital.
This has resulted in me now having a straight right leg and regained full movement and flexibility of the right knee. Allowing me to return to a range of sporting activities.
I am most thankful for the first rate skills and attention of Professor Waller and the whole support teams at St Vincent hospital and physiotherapy unit.

From the moment I met Prof Craig Waller I knew I would be in safe hands. His assessment of my left hip was professional and caring. I had the left hip replaced in early May 2020 as one of his first operations since elective surgery was halted. He was incredibly personable and caring and kept checking on me daily until I went into rehab. I was up the day after the operation and weight bearing immediately. My recovery to no walking stick was just 3 weeks and I was out walking 2 hours a day at the 6 week mark. I highly recommend him and have recommended him often.

I had a left hip operation performed by Dr Waller. After much research I chose Dr Waller. He and his team at St Vincents private hospital did a wonderful job. I am able to return to all my activities golf, kayaking, skiing and can even tie my shoes once again without any pain what so ever. I would highly recommend him and his team.

Thanks Craig for 2 great knees. I do not understand why doctors tell patients to wait till they get older for a knee replacement. I was mid 50's for my first replacement, now with 2, I am working full time as a sparky. More movement and no pain. Could not recommend Craig highly enough.

Dr Waller performed an excellent knee replacement on my grandfather Joseph. He should be commended on his job and the care he took in treating my grandfather. Cannot recommend more!

Dr Craig was fantastic in looking after my bilateral total knee replacement. After the surgery, my legs are straight again, knees can bend and I can walk up and down stairs/inclines. I believe I chose the best person to look after my surgery with no post-operative complications and able to return to work 4 months after surgery. At Dr Craig's recommendation, I'm also very glad that I got both knees done rather than one at a time. Thank you for your care.

I met with an accident which damaged my quadracept muscle in my left leg. I had consulted Associate Professor Doctor Waller. The good doctor had taken care of me many years prior on my right leg. I can certainly recommend Dr Waller's Staff from a professional and assistant level especially Sonja. His care and attention was exemplary and certainly without his intervention i may have been left with serious permanent injuries. I can highly recommend the services, the care and the results that Doctor Waller achieved with a very tricky injury.

With an Injury in the snow, Prof Craig Waller saw me within a week of my arrival back in Sydney, amazing.
At my first consultation, after a thorough examination Craig explained in detail and answered all my questions, putting my mind at ease. I was immediately put on a management plan to be ready for full knee construction surgery.
I felt completely confident in him as my surgeon.
My day surgery was more than I could hope for, operation at 9am home by 1pm. I walked out of the hospital! Even better, the pain was almost non existent.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this skilled surgeon.

I recently had my right knee replaced and I could not recommend Dr Waller more.
His expertise and knowledge is second to none.
The surgery and recovery was virtually pain free. I had the surgery in January and after 3 months I was just about back to walking without discomfort. After 5 months I am back running.
Thanks again.

Prof. Waller performed keyhole surgery on my knee. Prior to the surgery he explained in detail what he was going to do and what I could expect. The surgery went smoothly and I had a fast and painless recovery thanks to his incredible skill. At my post-operative meeting with him he carefully checked me out and explained, with images taken in the surgery, what they had found and corrected. I felt in very good hands and am blown away that my recovery has been so smooth and painless. Awesome, patient-focused, highly-skilled surgeon!

I have just had my final sign off with Professor Waller after my second hip replacement. The conversation was professional and affable with the final message and I paraphrase, " We do it once and do it right. You might want to see someone in two or three decades (which I doubt) but in the meantime go and run that marathon if you wish because you won't have any worries from now on.
The bottom line is, there are great hip surgeons and there are other hip surgeons. Professor Waller is one of the great ones and the prosthesis he uses seems to be bullet proof. I was really lucky to be put onto Professor Waller by a mutual friend and I have not looked back since.

Total hip replacement with fantastic results. Excellent interaction with both Prof Waller and his staff. Calm, clear, professional. I can now bush-walk, run after the dogs/children, climb over obstacles and clamber up rocks with no pain and no thought. Can't thank Prof Waller enough!
