Port Kembla Pool reviews
24A fantastic local beach with a free 50m pool suitable for laps, a medium pool area for play and a shallow pool for little kids. It has a cafe that does a decent coffee and food suitable for snacks and lunch. Its my favourite Illawarra pool and beach.
Poor Customer Service. I called a day before to confirm if they are open on Anzac Day. They happily said Yes, and now we are here with a big note outside saying the pool is closed! Not happy!
Fantastic ocean pool, a genuine asset for the community which is very popular in summer time.
There are multiple child friendly pools of varying depths which gives every age group somewhere to have cool off and have fun.
Looking forward to it reopening in summer.
Clean, beautiful, right by the ocean with gorgeous views and best of all its free entry! Nice little kids pool and soft play padded ground so nice and safe. Well gated and fenced in too. Has cafe in site too.
Also took a dip in Port Kembla pool. This seawater “Continental” baths overlooks Port Kembla Beach, from where it draws its water, showing off its 1937 construction date in some excellent yellow municipal architecture. It’s free entry, free parking, and free indoor and outdoor showers, with an impressive looking cafe—Olympic Boulevard Eatery—cleverly accessible from both pool and beach. Only half the pool was roped off for lap swimming, which is a delightful pro-recreational swimming change from Sydney standards.
We sat in a shelter with table and benches to open Xmas gifts / birthday gifts and Easter gifts as it's the first time for over twelve months we have seen our family due to covid and illness and it was half way for the grand children and daughter and son in-law. Lovely day and the children enjoyed the swim in open water.
Port Kembla Pools is a popular destination for a swim. It has Pools for all ages, My grandchildren really enjoy swim time there and as you can see in the photo so do lots of others.
Beautiful, clean saltwater pool that overlooks Port Kembla. Lovely welcome from staff even though it was pouring with rain and it was 6am on a Sunday morning.
So clean, well maintained and easy access for people of all abilities. The shower blocks are pretty ancient but the pool is beautiful.
Very well managed pool.can get busy at times (book ahead when it's hot). But there's one of the best and cleanest beaches in wollongong next door.
Big, clean, a range of pools that cater for everyone. Lots of lifeguards, friendly staff. Showers, toilets, cafe. Stunning views, lots of parking.and all free. Absolutely wonderful!
Really lovely pool, lots of room and lots of options for kids and babies. They also have a large grassy hill you can sit on and a Cafe to get food.
What a lovely pool! A really good big size; and vigilant lifeguards to keep everyone safe and behaving acceptably.
Still as good as ever! Great lifeguards great facilities for young kids. Undercover areas and grassy areas
Love Port Pools, very clean, Life guards always present and professional, l have been going to this pool since the early eighties, l highly recommend these pools to everyone.
The Best Pools in the Illawarra region. ️️️️️
Best free pool in wollongong. Water is a bit chilly but it's fine for me. Showers are great too and are not cold at all (unless you're not used to the cold).
Great place for a swim
Kids love visiting here
Reasonably priced
Lots of parking
Came here with a friend of mine who just happened to be wearing an amazing bikini, which revealed her amazing swimming skills. I had a swim to, and its a great pool to visit.
Very clean & tidy, friendly staff.
Plenty of space, beach right next door also has a cafe
Adjacent to the patrolled beach at Port Kembla there are 3 different sized pools to suit all needs. Very clean and well maintained with lifeguards on duty. Wheelchair accessible and there are restrooms as well as a large kiosk where food and drinks are available. There's a car park as well as street parking.
