It is a must stop for Gin, and Liq lovers, im sure vodka would been great, but im only for Gin.lovely atmosphere, very calm and enjoyable

Go to the Hunter Distillery instead!
Pokolbin Distillery charge $15 for a tasting and this in NOT refunded when you buy something.
I bought a bottle of their Salted Caramel Vodka and foolishly assumed the tasting would be free on purchase and really didn't pay attention when I tapped (my mistake). So I got a $15 surcharge on the bottle of vodka.
Hunter Distillery charge $5 for the tasting but don't charge that if you buy something.

This distillery was delightful in so many ways. The staff were super friendly from the time we arrived. They even gave us credit fir a future booking as two from our party didn't show. The products were amazing and the staff very knowledgeable about their products.

Theresa kept us laughing and drinking. Great place.
Don't pay with your ring, it's unsanitary.

Had the best tasting at PD. Great chatting with Teresa. Will be looking out for the trial of Salted Liquorice Liqueur. Jane and Arto

Wow, I didn't think I'd like Gin so much, but these had such a depth of flavour I'm a convert! Mind you, the Vodkas and Liquors didn't lack in flavour or punch either. It was definitely worth the stop here.

Our second visit to the distillery and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend a visit, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Will certainly be going back on our next visit.

We had a great time having a taste and getting some great guns vodkas and liquors. Theresa was a fantastic host and told us about a few if their cocktails

Nice premises and architecture, friendly staff, and some nice gins, especially the Blue Island Gin.
Whatever their reasons for charging so much, I just don't feel that $74 a bottle is a fair price, and the $15 tasting I did felt a bit begrudging. The tasting glasses are tiny enough as it is, but to be filled between ½ and ⅔ full definitely wasn't in the spirit of the Polish eagle that Pokolbin Distillery's shield shares with the Aussie Coat of Arms.

We had an awesome and insightful and experience today. Not only are all the house made spirits and liquors delicious, but the hosts are so good at what they do. We had a lovely lady named Teresa, and she made us feel so comfortable!

After terrible experience at distillery up the road was relieved to have such an enjoyable experience here. Great tasting (I only tried gins) and bought a bottle. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable. The building/ design/ decorating is beautiful.
Highly recommend stopping here.

We’ve had an absolutely fabulous morning at Pokolbin Distillery! A beautiful family owned and run distillery with the most incredible staff! When in the Hunter make sure you come and try them out! Nothing is too much trouble here and you don’t feel at all rushed!

Really nice experience that added to our perfect day out in the Hunter Valley. We were served by Joe, who was heaps of fun and knowledgeable, creating a super friendly atmosphere. We bought a couple of bottles of gin that we will enjoy for months to come.

Excellent service. The gin and vodkas were excellent so we were obliged to buy a number of bottles and will be buying more online I expect. Also tips on how to serve the drinks were very helpful.

One criticism. I would have expected that the $15 a head tasting fee would have been waived when a customer spends $250+ on products hence the 4 star rating. Highly recommended regardless. Thanks guys!

Tasting was $30 for for wife and I… also there was no discount taken off purchase price after the tasting. We just visited the hunter distillery beforehand and we found their pricing and service much better, and also preferred their gin. If we knew the tasting was going to be so expensive we would not have visited. 5/9/22

Was looking for something different in our wine tasting tour and was not disappointed. The Vodkas and Liqueurs are a must and is easy to buy them all. Staff and service excellent and accomodate all your requests. A MUST TOO on any tour and will be going back on our next trip.

Mostly I wanted to try the gin, & I did end up getting a bottle of the Bush Gin to take home. The Native Plum Finger Lime was also nice, but the Blue Island was, to me, a typical example of a tipple that plays up the butterfly pea colour changing gimmick to try to make up for the flavour. (Just not to my tastes, ultimately - I’m sure others would disagree with me on this!)

Staff were lovely & knowledgeable and the tiny tasting cups are totally charming.

A bit disappointed that the tasting fee isn’t put towards cellar door purchases as it is at some other places, but I do understand the need for it.

What a fantastic experience! Thank you Theresa for making our visit to your distillery such a highlight of the day. As a complete gin novice I truly appreciated your informed suggestions and tasting guidance. My stepmother - the birthday girl and gin drinker - really enjoyed the traditional and modern gins as well as your Mocha Vodka. I couldn’t leave without a bottle of your Friar’s Secret liqueur and will be back for a bottle of the Pineapple liqueur and that delicious, passionfruity Blue Island Gin. Thank you again for such a fun and enjoyable experience.

Had a great experience with a tasting there. Staff were knowledgeable. The spirits aren’t available in Sydney. Some interesting varieties as well. Really nice design and fit outs.
