Spent New Years Eve here. The location was perfect for the Pier One party (downstairs) and the view of the fireworks was insanely good. Strongly recommend for NYE.

Nice hotel. Expensive as stayed 3 night NYE package. Epic NYE party with outdoor views of the harbour Bridge fireworks. Paid $300 for NYE ticket per person when staying as a guest. They did offer a free area on the 2nd floor that was tented and some viewing areas. Best $45 breakfast buffet eith mimosas too. They can make your eggs and coffee orders.

Great place to stay or visit. Exquisite views. Really efficient and friendly staff. Great menu selection.

What would’ve been a nice 5 night stay was tarnished on the last night by a yapping dog in one of the rooms nearby. In all my years of travel I’ve never experienced this, let alone in a premium hotel. The offer of compensation when I checked out was to waive the packet of crisps I’d purchased from the mini bar during my stay!

We really appreciate the collaborative work between us and our wedding coordinator Valeria Cordova.
She was fantastic with communicating with before, during and after our wedding. She was able to meet with us and call/WhatsApp us back on any questions we had about the venue, drinks and food. She was able to help us organise a room for our family and us to get changed for our cultural performances. Valeria also helped with giving us a dream suite on the wedding night which was amazing! Valeria deserves this 10 rating for the amount of work she put in to ensure our day ran as perfectly as possible.

Just had a drink on the terrace. While we were sitting there we were given a delicious sandwich with olive oil and feta cheese. Very hospitable and the location is great near the Harbor bridge.

I can’t recommend them enough. My husband and I stayed here for our first trip to Australia and were blown away by the staff. The room was clean and decorated well and we were given a room with a view of the harbor as well! The location is amazing as well, being so close that you could walk to multiple locations/experiences in Sydney!
We asked multiple times for restaurant recommendations as well as if they could book an experience (for instance, we wanted to go whale watching) and they delivered every single time! Eugene and Ismail where absolutely stand outs with their professionalism and knowledge and I will definitely look forward to staying here again if we ever go back.

Great place to stay in Sydney and it's right on the water.
Drinks at the bar are expensive though, nice outlook but expensive, bar staff always seem quite rude.

My family attended a wedding event at Pier One few weeks ago. We notified the groom and bride that our little girl has anaphylasxis on any nuts products when we received the invitation. And the groom and bride is confirmed with me that the hotel have been acknowledged no nuts dietary for kids is in place for their wedding event.
On the wedding night, the Bolognese spaghettis was okay. However, hotel serviced three scoops of ice creams to each kids as a dessert. My little girl felt uncomfortable after ate few spoonful of ice cream. Then I asked the waiter what was the flavors of those ice creams. He was unsure about the flavors. So he asked the kitchen staffs and answered me that "vanilla, cookie & cream and pistachio" ice creams.
I was shocked and have no time to question/ argue with the waiter why the hotel servicing nuts ice cream to my girl.
I have to check my girl lips, throat condition. Does she has swollen lips and swollen throat etc. I need to prepare the epipen ready for my little girl. She told me that she wants to vomit. And within 10 seconds, she vomited on her seat which was in the middle of the event hall.
After vomited few more times in the toilet, and taking the antihistamine tablets. My girl's allergic reaction was under control.
And because of this incident, we are not recommend this hotel for those who has food allergic to go. They may mess up your stay.
At last, thanks for Pier One Sydney which gave our family that unforgettable experience.and thanks for trying to put my girl into hospital.

I visited pier one for a wedding few weeks ago and at the wedding a child with peanut allergies (anaphylactic) was served a dessert with nuts after declaring the nut allergen to the hotel prior to the event date. A major error that ruined the married couples night to remember. This error could have been a lot worse and cause the death of the child.
It's appalling that a five star hotel made this error. UNACCEPTABLE.

Walk out 50 meters from the hotel, and you will see world-class scenery-the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Happened to be there for work purpose. There are a lot of wall plugs in the lobby area for me to recharge my laptop. Food are delicious and beautiful. Concierge is very friendly and extremely helpful. Meeting room has great water view. And I enjoyed the walks & views along the way between the Quay and Pier One. Hope next time I will have chance to try their winter igloo.

What a lovely location for events and hosting. The function rooms are nice and clean, the harbour views are unmatched and the food is also good.

The outdoor area/ deck could use a little maintenance but apart from that, I’d recommend their function rooms for sure.

We have been photograph many weddings at Pier One, but nothing like the one I just did.
Because of COVID, my client's big wedding was chop into 2 parts. They had their ceremony downside to 6 people in June 2020 and 362 days later, they had their party - with a new born!
Pier One was really helpful and flexible. I had a lot of bad experiences with some venues dealing with COVID situation but Pier One is understanding and reasonable. We should have more good people like Pier One in our industry!

We had our wedding in the Water Room at Pier One and it was absolutely perfect. Our incredible coordinator Rhiann was a dream to work with and always went above and beyond to make sure our day exceeded our expectations. We still have guests telling us it was the best wedding they have been to! The whole hotel team were amazing and we are so happy we chose their venue for our reception. Thanks again for making our day so special. Mr and Mrs Luck.

Stayed in the Walsh Bay Suite.

A quirky hotel in a repurposed heritage building.

We were upgraded to the Walsh Bay Suite. Upon entering, the room was really hot and stuffy (in the middle of winter!). Staff said that the AC wasn't working - not just in our room, but in every suite, so being moved to another wouldn't have helped. I suppose it was somewhat fortunate that we hadn't paid for the suite, since I would've been upset that such an expensive room didn't have working AC!

The view of Walsh Bay was quite poor since parts of the original structure of the building blocks the view.

Selection at the breakfast buffet in The Gantry was also quite small.

We would have loved to give Pier One five stars but at this price point it needs to be a close to perfect and this is where Pier One fell over. We'd read reviews where people who had booked the luxury package had problems and we had them too.

The good - the front podium and bar staff (these staff were great), 10% Bonvoy discount on f&b, the location, sitting out on the wharf watching the sunset, the room - we booked a Walsh Bay view room and from room 341 we got a view of Walsh Bay and the western harbour, sadly through a really dirty window. Room was big, great bathroom and bathroom products, really comfy bed, amazing minibar.

The dirty window slips into the bad. You are paying a lot of money to stay here, and extra for harbour view, and if you have a view of the harbour it should be a clear view. Windows are hard to keep clean but when a view is part of the selling point you need to see it clearly.
At $42 the breakfast is an expensive buffet. The choices were limited and the staff disorganised.

The just weird - as part of the package you get a bottle of wine and $100 f&b credit. The credit was applied but the bottle of wine just didn't happen, despite asking for it four times over two days. Ok, it kind of happened. A half bottle of wine, the same as in the minibar, did turn up on our last night but a half bottle is not what you expect when a 'bottle of wine' is included.

I posted about this on Instagram, received an apology and provided our home address so that a 'nice bottle of wine' could be sent. I also received a call from a front office manager as our invoice had also gone astray. He also mentioned the wine.

After two weeks I followed up wondering if the wine had been sent. I didn’t get a response to my message but today a very lovely bottle of wine arrived. It's this lack of follow-up that makes you choose somewhere else next time you visit a place, and also not recommend it to others. A short message goes a long way.

Would we stay again? Maybe, because it is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. We’d just not book any kind of package because it shouldn't be up to us to make sure it's delivered.

The function room is a winner. Intimate with the best views of the Sydney Harbour. Recommended for medium sized conferences.

I had my wedding reception at Pier One Hotel and I have to say I'm blown away by their services that day. Wedding coordinator was on top of everything before and on the wedding day, catering was exactly what I asked for and they also let us use a spare room for our Chinese Tea Ceremony as we had some logistic issues. Though the weather wasn't the best, they were happy to move the ceremony indoors for us and was very understanding that I was quite stressed about the weather. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a wedding reception/ceremony location. Exceptional service!

Stayed here a long while back to relax. Unfortunately arrived to rainy weather the few days I was here, however the staff made the time worthwhile. Lovely people who try their best to make you smile.

Had cosy rooms with nice ambiance and a cute juliette balcony

I even lost my bracelet here, which they contacted me for, and offered to send over courier since I wasn't able to collect it for a while.
