Pearl Beach Real Estate

This Real Estate agency that manages a holiday rental property at Pearl beach NSW via Stayz did not conduct business with me in a professional and honest manner. They charged an additional $182.06 on the original amount that was advertised on the Stayz website for a 3 night stay at the holiday rental, which we paid even though we felt it should have been listed or inbuilt within the advertised price. They failed to advise us of the construction that was taking place right next to the holiday rental property. After they charged me of the entire amount payable they made a mention of this in their email when they sent through the payment receipt. My fellow travelers and I who are a big group of 8 adults and 2 children felt that the rental property was way too expensive to put up with sort of disturbance for 3 continuous days when our main aim was just to relax. Upon probing further, the Real Estate stated we can apply for refund less the booking fee and the eftpos fee of $182.06. We kept emailing them to refund the entire amount in total as it was their fault for not disclosing the construction next door, their only response was that they cannot refund as it was paid out and they needed my bank account details to transfer the paid amount minus the booking fee and eftpos fees when they could have just refunded the entire amount on my credit card which was used to pay for the rental in the first place. I made a complaint to Stayz who sent them 4 follow up emails and the real estate did not bother to respond to them. As a last resort I will be raising a complaint against them with the ACCC with evidence that took place between me and the real estate.
$182.06 is not a big amount but it’s the matter of principle and conducting business in a professional and honest manner which this real estate agency failed to do.
I would urge people to exercise caution while doing business with them and get as much information as possible about the property before engaging them.

Rude, slow, and a just a bit too grumpy. They insist on a check-in of 3pm and a check-out of 9.30am, no exceptions. We’ve been coming to Pearl Beach for 30 years, it is a wonderful place, if only dealing with the Real Estate agents wasn’t so painful.

Warning! Pearl Beach Patonga Real Estate advertises through HomeAway, but don't honour their payments, or messaging. They ask you to cancel the booking and use their website. They sent me 3 different mails contradicting booking dates, and costs and then when I try to clarify the booking they put the phone down in my ear. I think they are unethical in their dealings, unprofessional in their communication and plain rude with customers. Will not deal with this company. Can't believe owners are trusting their properties for holiday rentals to them.

This agency is hopeless. I’ve been waiting 3 days for a response to an enquiry on a holiday house. If I owned the house and knew I was missing out on people staying I would go somewhere else. Disgusting customer service.

Absolutely would NOT recommend this company. STAY AWAY! Read the reviews online and educate yourself.

After advising this company we wanted a property over the Christmas period, we were told it was available to rent and all we had to do was to fill in deposit paperwork.

As I was uncomfortable giving my credit card details over email, I sent them all the other paperwork and told them I would phone them with the credit card details.

From that point on, my emails and phone calls were completely ignored.

I finally got a response 2 weeks later saying that I wasn't successful in securing the property because I had waited too long to get back to them (despite my best efforts in trying to email and phone them, to which they told me they hadn't received anything). I was advised another party had given them a deposit.

Despite someone else supposedly paying the deposit, they continued to give me the option of still having the dates I wanted, but I would have to stay an additional week.

I'm still waiting for an answer from this company as to how this is even possible. They refused to answer me, and told me I had "simply missed out and it wasn't available"

I gave them ample opportunity to explain the situation, but they danced around answering any of my questions and just chose to shut the conversation down.

After reading other reviews, i'm almost positive this has happened to other people.

I can’t praise Rae the Holiday Manager enough. At 4pm on a Friday during busy Christmas time she found us a beautiful house to stay in with 2 days notice of arrival. We’ve used other Agents before however since our dealings with Rae we won’t be using anyone else in the future. Rae we thank you for your assistance and tenacity in negotiating with the owner to allow us to stay. Many many thanks again.

Love everything thos about this quaint coastal town. Has a beach front cafe also a genrral store for take away. Gets very busy during holidays.

My family and I have been coming to beautiful Pearl Beach for 20 years and have always had good experiences with other accommodation sites like Stayz and Accom. However boasting that it was the best accommodation site in Pearl Beach, we decided to give Pearl Beach Real Estate a try. We had booked a 4 night stay over Easter months in advance and had planned to have a big Easter lunch there for friends, family and pets. Alas when we got there at 8pm the night we were due in we found another family in situ. We called the estate agent and were 'reassured' by the fact that 3 other families were in the same situation that very night.

Never again

We are local landlords, and have found Pearl Beach Real Estate very easy to deal with. They let us know if anything in the house has broken or is not up to standard, and do a good job of keeping the place in great condition - good for the holidaymakers, and good for us!

I am coming to the Umina Area at Christmas and saw a beautiful house through the Stayz website which I applied for. I was informed by Stayz that the property was available and to contact the property manager who happened to be Pearl Beach Real Estate. I discussed with the Property Manager my interest in the house and was told that I could not apply for it until after 31 March because they have a loyalty system where they give previous tenants that long to make up their mind if they want it again. My problem is if I wait that long most of the houses that interest me will already be booked out and while I appreciate a loyalty system - giving previous tenants 3 months is ridiculous. Surely they would know by January 31 if they were interested or not I found the Property Manager who promised to contact Stayz rude and dismissive and the man who answered the phone today extremely rude. If this is Pearl Beach Real Estate policy then they should state it clearly on the Stayz advertisement that the house is not available but even looking today the dates I want are available and what is more frustrating is that I was willing to pay the whole rent NOW.i consulted a tenancy expert who stated this is bordering of false advertising. I have no problem with Stayz - I have always rented houses from them and have had no problem, but Pearl Beach Real Estate are rude and most likely give the people 3 months so their own friends can go in. I am shocked at their attitude and will be publicly advertising the fact that they are dishonest otherwise they would have informed Stayz of their rule in the first place. I wil also be writing to Stayz along with the many people I know who book through them to encourage them to deal with a more reputable company.
