Quite possibly my favourite bar in Sydney. Everything about this place makes you just want to relax and have a good time. The bartenders are always attentive and down for a chat but also aren’t over the top. Drinks are simply sensational. Divine intervention has been a long time favourite. Queen of cups is a must order. 10/10 recommend this spot.

I didn't try the food, I went for drinks with friends, the atmosphere is amazing and the drinks menu is one of my favourites in Sydney.

Been coming here for a while, each new menu has been amazing. The drinks are genuinely the best from any cocktail bar I’ve been to. Service is great, all the bartenders are very friendly and great at their jobs. Shout out to Lachie, great service.

Staff was really great, not pushy, dont remove your glass is there's still some liquor inside. With a great ambiance but not too noisy! And the cocktails. They were really great!

I had no idea about this place! Thanks to a good friend we ended up here and had an amazing time. Drinks are amazing! Don't forget to get the cheese platter - they taste soooo good with quality alcohol! I don't remember what I drank though - and no hangover

Fun vibes, great music (especially when live) and amazing staff! In our two week stay in Sydney, we found ourselves here three times. Proper absinthe options with a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing place. Very small in size, but the energy, the bartenders (shout-out to oliver) and the drinks were amazing. Definitely go out of your way for this place. Recommend the Second Coming drink.

This place is awesome, such a vibe! They nail the witchy/fantasy theme and have some really delicious cocktails. We loved our bartender Jess - total legend!

Alcoholic ailments infused by witch doctor practices, Papa Gede's enchants you to let the 'spirits' guide you on your cocktail pilgrimage. Hence the voodoo inspirations, this is an upbeat cbd cocktail bar offering both classics tiki drinks, wines and craft beers. I ordered the Zombie as it comes with a little fire show, the bar staff were fun and energetic. Follow your senses and resurrect your night with funk and soul.

Papa gedes is phenomenal.
Been here 3 times now and every time, Myself and the group I bring with me have been blown away with the service, the friendly staff who go above and beyond and the quality and pricing of drinks. Could not recommend more for a night out.

I would say this is a must visit bar in Sydney. We were so glad we stumbled across it. The atmosphere is atmospheric, dark and moody. The choice of cocktails was ample with stuff I have never seen before and tantalised my taste buds. We will be coming back before we leave to sample the absinthe but will make sure we have no other plans for the day. Please go here and open your mind to new flavour combinations.

This bar was recommended by a bartender at Grandma's Bar. (Nanna recommends Papa) Among all the bars I have visited in CBD, I would suggest that the employees in Papa Gede's are the most energetic and excited, which brings up an unmatched welcoming vibe. In terms of drinks, Papa Gede's provides a wide range of anise-flavored cocktails. If you are a fan of Absinthe, this is a must-go. The one-star loss in my review was due to the minor inconsistency between the same cocktail.

It’s been 7 years since Baron Samedi’s spooky spectre gleefully grinned at me as I imbibed Papa Gedes potions; and his apparition has been haunting my dreams ever since.

The menu has changed, but the ambience is still the same.

Zombie’s used to finish the evening, now they begin it. I dodged the walking dead and went straight for: : The Second Coming: : Spiced and Gold rum co-mingling with a red wine reduction all froth and bubble with lemon and egg whites.

I’m glad to see Papa’s survived the pandemic; See you again in se7en Samedi!

This is by far the best bar in Sydney we always have the BEST night here! Jono (JESUS) and BRAD BRAD BRAD BRAD were the most awesome hosts and just such legends. The cocktails are fun to drink and delicious and the vibe is just always 10/10. The service here and the fun staff are the main reason we always come back we couldn’t recommend this place more!
