Paddy Pallin reviews
65Andrew was amazing at helping find the right First shoe for me. He went through all the models and went above and beyond to ensure I got the perfect boot. Thanks Andrew and I really appreciate. Will definitely be back and was an amazing first experience!
The BEST, expert friendly advice fitting both boots and backpacks over the past six years. Always well stocked, and any warranty issue I’ve had, Paddy Pallin have always gone above and beyond to look after me… Go there, get club membership, you wont be disappointed.
Good range of products and overall positive experience. Representative Yuri at the Sydney Kent street store was extremely proactive and helpful. He ensured that he catered to every question with his expert opinion. Overall would definitely go again.
The go-to store for outdoor gears in Sydney, wonderful staff, can't recommend enough!
This is my favourite outdoors supplier. They had what I wanted. Unfortunately, for the flagship store in Sydney, it is just too small. They really need to be in a bigger store and hold more in stock. Still, service is usually good and reliable and much of my oldest equipment comes from here.
My son and I went to 4 other hiking stores in the surrounding area, although they were not to interested in selling us our first Light weight hiking-overnight setup. Christian at Paddy, s spent probably up to 1 hour helping us carefully select our bags, our tent Etc.the experience, patience and attention to detail is world class. Skip all the other big brand stores in the area and just come directly here. Thanks Paddy's Team you will be my go to store from now! Quality staff and and top end gear!
The most amazing staff and amazing old-school friendly customer service that you can find. Patrick was a legend, explaining the range of shoes multiple times to my flustered mind, explaining things, giving me so much of useful advice (unlike other stores where sales reps simple repeat branding buzzwords and try sell you things dressed up with gimmicks) - you could see he truly had a lot of depth to his knowledge. 10/10 hands down, worth the price premium.
Incredible staff. I was served by a lovely gentleman who was knowledgeable without being a know-it-all; patient and not pushy. The store has a fantastic range and I will return when I have more time to peruse. This is what you don’t get from online shopping.
Awesome range of Equipment and apparel here, but it’s hard to beat the real world advice from the staff - there’s no substitute for staff that use the gear that they are selling. Patrick was very handy with the advice, and ordered in the gloves I needed too.
The staff are incredibly knowledgable and helpful. There's a good selection of quality products and the prices are fair.
Very helpful staff. Unfortunately couldn't find what I was looking for. But the gentleman who served me was excellent. Prime example of excellent customer service.
Went in to buy hiking boots, was completely ignored. The sales staff were serving another person trying on at least 20 different boots, there were boxes everywhere and nowhere to sit to try on boots. For some reason the staff did not even acknowledge us or even make eye contact! After about 10 minutes of patiently waiting I politely asked for my size in boots and they were promptly retrieved, I was just handed the box and then the staff went back to completely ignoring us! It was such a weird and surreal experience to not even be acknowledged, not even a "be with you in a minute", while the staff absolutely doted on other customers (some who'd even arrived after us), chatting away about their preferences and upcoming trips and fetching multiple pairs of shoes, going back and forth from the storeroom. Maybe I didn't look enough like I was going to go on a hike (?) I had city clothes on, however I wanted to buy an expensive pair of hiking boots for an upcoming trip. From this unfriendly experience, I doubt I will ever set foot in this shop ever again, I will go to Kathmandu instead, at least they greet their customers and make eye contact.
I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for camping or hiking equipment. The staff are extremely passionate and knowledgeable about their range of products, which is very helpful. When I experienced a problem with one of my purchases, one of their team members Kiyotaka went above and beyond for me, ensuring I'll be shopping here again for my next purchase.
Very professional, they helped me to find the bag I've needed for my next adventure.
They sell good quality products
Phil who works at the sydney store is a friggen legend. He’s so outrageously helpful and full of knowledge and fun facts.
If management is reading this - you should pay him more.
We came in on a Friday afternoon looking for a 'mountain' of gear for Everest base camp.
We were assisted by Nicky who was unbelievably generous with her time and went above and beyond to educate and assist us - she's an absolute superstar.
Then we also had Andrew come and assist us with hiking boots and he was so generous with his time and focused on ensuring that we got the right hiking boots.
After spending so much time finding the gear, the staff stayed around after closing time to help us process the transaction. Yuri brought it home with some fast fingers to process the transaction and off we went all ready for Everest in the winter.
Amazing dedication, amazing staff and hopefully each had well deserved Friday drinks. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
The quality of product here is second to none. More importantly the staff here are absolutely brilliant. There is one stand out sales assistant here YURI, world class, knows the product range and is out to genuinely help, love the guy have been visiting him with our family for many years. Thanks Yuri.
Andrew helped us buy a tent and a couple of sleeping mats today. Thrilled with the service, during what is I assume one of your busy stores. Have had a few horrendous retail experiences recently with other camping stores but you've not let me down to date PaddyPallin, and am happy you are here.
Andrew was fantastic. Super helpful with trying on and choosing shoes, knowledgeable, genuine, and it helps that the person selling you shoes also uses several different pairs of those shoes. In and out super fast. Will come back for more.
I had a terrific experience in store - The staff were super friendly and knowledgable. But where Paddy Pallin really stood out was with their follow up service. I purchased 2 air mats. Thanks to Covid it was more than a year before I was able to use them. Both sprung mysterious leaks. It might have been a manufacturing fault. It might have been a poor choice of camp site. But PP replaced them without any questions.and then a month later sent an email alerting me that the new mats were cheaper and I would be receiving a refund. Amazing!
