Pacific Bay Resort

Stayed 2 Bed Standard Penthouse 4 nights. Room 3805.

Note, this is my own personal opinion on the apartment, the resort and overall stay in general.

Resort is good, the apartment is well laid out, but.
There are numerous items that need attention and repairs/ replacement.
Tiles broken, doors bad fitting, windows not closing fully and some cleaning required. Refer pics

Beds are good, clean and comfortable, aircon is quiet but there was a brown water stain below the unit in the twin bedroom, in the pic.
Main lounge room is nice, dinning layout is a bit cramped for four people.
Opening the ranch sliders is a bit of a struggle, balcony has some cracked tiles you need to watch your feet on, but the rooftop terrace is a nice bonus.

Kitchen needs some TLC (refurb) and more utensils, bring your own if need be.

The main dinning and bar / outdoor areas are regularly booked for functions and receptions etc, and they should advise you at check in or have it in the compendium that for dinning it's better to book a table, this will avoid any disappointment.

As a resort the grounds are great, and pool area which can't fault that and the bar with views outlook across lake is good.

Easy walk to beach, with town a short drive away, if you want anything you need to drive. Not great location for other things and note you can hear the traffic from the Pac Highway quite easily.

Having stayed previously on business (noted was 10 years ago) which was good and hence thought would bring family and stay in the Penthouse. But on reflection as this was the most expensive have ever stayed in, it did not meet my expectations for room quality.
I have recently stayed at better and much cheaper apartments in NSW.

Wish them all the best but will not stay again.

A brilliant establishment in Coffs Harbour. Great conference style settings for business and gatherings. Venue has it all. Clean good service, food is amazing

The staff were great here and so was the location. This was a great stopover for our road trip.

Lovely clean room overlooking the what used to be the banana plantation now resort. P1 car parking was full and hard to get an easy park. Beautiful landscaping.

Cons: Rooms are very dated, a lot of things don't work. Lamps and power points on one side didn't work. No wifi or reception, not suitable if traveling for work. TV had poor reception, only on channel.
Spring in mattress broken, dangerous scratched my leg open.

Pros: Friendly staff at check staff in, beautiful gardens, good location, pretty clean.

Raised my concerns at checkout, I was advised they would have staff look into it.

Over all disappointed with the experience. The potential for a great location is there but looks like it's not being invested in.

We cannot fault the excellent staff nothing was an issue for them our mattress was hard and replaced within a couple of hours of reception being notified the rooms were straight out of the 1980's our balcony doors didn't lock or even close properly the bathroom had mould in the tiles. No cleaning service only if you stay for 4nights or more. The restaurant was excellent.

The chefs choice of mahi-mahi was 2 bites for $40 total rip off I would definitely not dine here again

This was awesome. Super surprised at how great it was. As we had never seen it before. The grounds are wonderful. Loved the pool too

Room was old damaged and grotty pillows were disintegrate damage fly screens.

Bar shuts at 9.00 pm on our first night second night the bar staff served wedding guests ahead of the guest staying at the resort. Didn't eat in as we were so disappointed with the facilities and general mess and disrepair.

Lovely resort and resort grounds. Loved the water and golf course around the resort and the fish, bird life and water dragon lizards. Loved rooms with balconies, lovely helpful staff. Great location 500m walk to beach and Coffs harbour coastal track either side of resort. Loved the 2 big pools and hot spa and gym
Great coference centre and restaurant too. Loved the day spa as well in the resort. Can't wait to go back!

Do not believe what you read on the site. Was not freshly refurbished or painted. Walls were marked and dirty. Carpets were stained. Photos are very deceiving. Room was small so we paid to upgrade. The next room on the third flood got flooded. Lifts stopped working and I had no way to get down the stairs as I'm unable to walk. I Did ask for disability room but on booking was told all rooms was wheelchair accessible. Had to get our meal brought to our room. Fish was raw and chicken was dry and tough.
Next day still was stuck on the third floor. Spent until lunch time in the room. Struggled to get down stairs. Was told when we got back if lift was not working they put us in a new room. Got back and new room. 3 rooms in 2 nights were all dirty. All that was done other than move us was a $60 refund on the upgraded room. I had spend most of my time stuck in a room. Was very stressful and far from relaxing. My advice don't waist your money. Book else where.

Place is getting old. No soaps in the showers. WiFi never worked and no phone connectivity so we couldn't hotspot off our own phones either. Smart TVs in the rooms are useless without internet connectivity. Not going back

Stayed across the road and went for breakfast. They might have one of the best bacon and egg roles I've ever had. 10/10 Would go again.

The food at the restaurant was all pretty bland and felt like it came directly from the microwave which was a shame. The rest of the stay was great, a special shout out to “Bert the Squirt” for helping to make a memorable trip.

This place was absolutely a waste of my holiday and money!
We booked this place for 4 nights checked out on 3rd day early morning because we couldn’t stand it anymore! When we arrived we could not find our room due to poor instructions. On top when we booked she said theres stairs from carpark to the room (no lifts) not 5/6 sets of stairs we had to climb up with little kids plus luggages!

When we first arrived in the room we thought its nice spacious and 2 bedroom.
Then my kids opening cupboards and running around they found empty water bottles under bed and wrappers in the bedroom cupboards. The knit throw they put over the queen bed was absolutely disgusting it was full of hair and so was the main bathrooms shower drain was clogged up with hair the water wouldnt go down as we showered! So we only used the ensuite. I dont know where they were coming in from as the glass door was always shut but there was little bugs and ants everywhere!

Wifi never worked! But ontop our Telstra phones didnt have any reception either.

The breakfast was “open buffet” with very little options and the food tasted like it was reheated not fresh!

This resort has a retirement village vibe.

Long story short dont waste your money here. Its not nice like they make it out in the pictures! We fell for it and this is a warning you shouldn't!

Horrible experience at this place. We received two different rooms when we had ordered the same two luxury rooms. Very disappointing, and our compensation for the poor mistake made by Katherine was either a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine. A discount would’ve been more appropriate considering the fact that we paid the prices for two luxury rooms, but only received one. Very disappointing stay to say the least - thank God we only stayed one night.

Clean and tidy premises, staff were courteous especially Alex. He was such a helpful gentleman who took care of us in the wet weather conditions.

A poor experience from the start. I spoke to three different staff members after booking a night for my cousins wedding night. Two out of the three were rude, not helpful and made me and my cousin feel uncomfortable and not welcome. Never again will I book here and would not recommend to family or friends…

Stayed here for our baby moon. Mixed weather of beautiful and heavy rain our stay has been excellent. The staff have been so genuine and happy to help with our enquiries. During the rain we could enjoy the spa & sauna in the gym. In the sun/light rain My partner and I had our very first game of golf. Scott at the golf shop made sure we had a great experience and gave us some tips to start. Safe to say we will continue our novice golfing skills after this trip. The course was a great start.
