I, Mary Chatfield, Centre Manager of the Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation MACS childcare centre, first meet Greg Elhen 6 years ago when he carried out internal large refurbishment of the centre, upgrade to playground and carpark addition.
This year Greg and his team from Oscar Design & Construction was called again but this time for large extension at the rear of the centre which involved again designing, obtaining council approval and building works for the childcare centre.
Their innovative approach and strategic thinking stood out from the rest in the industry. Greg and his team made sure our wishes were their highest priority and the results were exactly what we hoped for.
All the tradesmen were professional and their work was outstanding. They were polite and trustworthy and always cleaned up after themselves.
We really appreciate Greg's effort of making our experience as easy as possible. The children, parents and staff members are so happy with the service and the completed works.
Greg kept within the agreed contract price and also provided us with a lot of extra works at no charge which we are extremely grateful for.

Greg and Oscar team develop outstanding building projects and spare no efforts, time and enthusiasm on it. From the design to the construction, the results are impressive. The team goes above and beyond and really care at every stage. Highly recommended.

We built four custom houses with Greg and his team and overall we are happy with the quality of finishings and the way the project turned out.

While the house building journey specially custom designed houses is a long stressful process, the team at Oscar have been willing and available to work through issues whatever they may be. This is the main difference with the level of service between large builders and boutique builders such as Oscar. The team will try their best to achieve the level of detail you require where most large builders would refuse and this is highly desireable with custom home builds.

What i recommend to any potential customers is to ensure you discuss your required levels of finishings, inclusions, exclusions and to record these in the contract so as to avoid any confusion couple of months down the build (both for yourself and the builder). Ensuring both yourself and the builder is on the same page from day 1 will make your journey to your dream home a lot less stressful!

Greg is horrible and a bad busness man. He has put our family through hell and always ask for variation on things we never said ok but he said he did it for us as the standard was cheaper but then later has come back to us and wanting us to pay for it.we can't pay, we have not enough money for this.my experience has been bad and would have people watch out if they use greg as a builder.the material that was build with was called hebel and we tried to find who had done the work as we were told things but we couldn't find the company and we had called a company that had dealt with greg for install and said they will never do work again for him because of the bad busness, he was garden building service and said he was always to tricky to deal with. I have made complain to fair trading and they said they will do investigate to see what happend, we also are scared of greg for intimidation tactics and we feel helpless, we hope one day greg and his busness will have karma. Sorry for typing for long and my english is bad.

My house over 12 months building and still not completed and only a 3 bedorom home. BEWARE, Shonky business and tries to charge me up costs on the contract. Somebody needs to stop them

We engaged Oscar todo design and build our new family home in Norwest. Our design requirements were complex in nature and pushed the design restrictions envelope to the limit but Greg and his team got it approved by council and we were able to get started on building our new family dream home almost straight away. The building process went along better then we excepted. We are very pleased with the quality, completion time and budget.
Greg explained every step and gave us time to think about the different options and finishes choices instead of rushing through. We appreciated the extra time and effort he offered us at no extra charge that meant a lot since we didn’t have any building knowledge.

The contract and inclusions list was honoured to the letter. We did however vary it by adding extras such as a waterfall to the benchtop, Dorf tapware and European appliances, which was my wife’s idea.

We would highly recommend Greg and his team to anyone that wants an honest, professional company with great building workmanship.
