Origem Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Did a spinal injury at the gym, which took me out of action and unable to continue using the service. Constant healthcare appointments for the 9 months that has followed isn't great, but the worst part? They started charging my account, without any notice, have so far taken over 6 weeks worth of fees and are not longer returning emails/ calls to refund the cash.

I have started practicing BJJ about 9 years ago. Had been part of different teams during this long journey, but nothing compares to this guys! Its much greater than the martial art itself, it is the legacy of the philosophy that they keep alive though generations. They are not a team, they are a family! Leo is deeply connected with the old tradition that holds the essence of the martial art itself. So much knowledge and understanding of this millennial art kept for generations in his family. Carol, what a beautiful inspiring soul! Discipline, team work, honor, motivation, and above all: Respect! Respect for the ancestors who had put on their time and sweat on the mats to develop and improve the technique we are learning our days. Two months after meeting Leo and Origem family, I can say that with each passing day I feel more proud and grateful to train in this space.family atmosphere, a lot of humility and a spirit of mutual help. Best place for someone who has just moved to Australia.there is no sport as complete as jiu-jitsu, whether body or mind, and in Origem the true values ​​are passed on, thank you so much.

Such an excellent gym. Going to a new martial arts gym of any sort is usually nerve wracking, but not here. The instructors are not only extremely technically skilled but also very friendly and patient teachers. The classes are small enough to have a family feeling and big enough for you to roll with multiple new people each session. All the facilities are super nice and the mats are always clean. Overall Leo and Carol run a fantastic gym!

Nothing but the best, beautiful old school jui jitsu, ever since I started at Origem Brazilian Jui Jitsu, it has been life changing for me, Leo and Carol have taken me in as if I am family to them. I travel almost an hour every time I train and it is worth every second of it, they are amazing trainers, very inspiring, always trying to help you progress, always looking after you and stick by you every step of the way. Happy to be part of the team and family, and wouldn't want to be in other gym.

Origem BJJ has empowered me with skills and confidence. Knowing that I can defend myself in tricky situations is powerful as a woman is important. Yet the women here are still kind and welcoming. The men as well are respectful and committed to the principles of jiujitzu. This place is loads of fun to be and the sense of familia is strong.
Moreover it is the owners Leo and Carol who bring that teaching to life with professionalism, compassion and strength.
Love this place and the people here. I am stronger because of them.

Great gym, great team, great learning environment. Leo and Carrol have created a warm, welcoming space that encourages students to learn and grow. Egos are left at the door and hearts and minds soar. If you are looking for a bjj gym don't look anywhere else!

I've tried a few places for BJJ in Sydney and Origem is the best so far. The people are really inviting and welcoming to new members. The warm ups get you warm but don't take up 50% of the class. The instructors are all good at both explaining clearly and then correcting the little things I mess up.

If you want to get fit, have fun, and learn it's definitely worth coming for a trial.
