Orange City Library (part of Central West Libraries) reviews
12Great library, i have been in many libraries in the region and this one is one of the best. Would love to see 24/7 areas for members of the library
Wifi and power is available and a great range of books and magazines. Good area to sit and read. Also, some great children's books.
Clean and well-kept toilets just outside. EV charger nearby.
The Library was closed but at least one or two people enjoyed a bit a soul. It's a beautiful place to be. Even at night.
The stair light is gentle and the fountain is quite soothing. There's also a place to lie down on the grass ceiling and look at the night sky.
Is it a ceiling or roof? I'm not sure. I'll let you have fun discovering it. Quite the place to meet new people I say.
I love our local library! Staff are so caring and considerate towards visitors, always eager to help out, and there is always some activity or event on welcoming people in. The layout is also great as it has enough space for children and activities to be noisy and busy in one area and other spaces are kept quieter for those who prefer to be less disturbed while reading or studying. It’s just great. So grateful it’s our local resource!
Computers/internet are good. The place is VERY NOISY most days, including several librarians that talk non stop in between serving customers, and are over talkative. Too bad if you are trying to do some work on a computer! Libraries are traditionally quiet places to read etc.in, but this place misses the boat in that area.
The library has great activities for children & the staff are always friendly towards me. Although I overheard a staff member being very vague & unhelpful to an elderly person today who asked where to sign in
Orange city library is is an amazing public resource, located in the central business precinct of the city yet still in a quiet and soothing location, staffed with friendly and helpful people. Let's hope that public facilities such as this are never losted and remained fully and fairly funded by the authorities, now and into the future.
Great quite relaxing place fantastic for children and heaps of things happening there all the time
Bek was helpful getting my toddler into a class at the last minute despite us being vistors from out of town
This is an OK place to work, sometimes. Often people will talk on their phones. Often there are kids screaming around. Sometimes there is storytime or playgroup inside the library. So it's more a community centre than a library. Also the hours are a bit short. And there often aren't enough tables with power. And the wifi has a very low download quota.
Orange City Library has an extensive range of items available to borrow or read in the library. The library has plenty of comfortable quiet places to read or study. The library also provides numerous online resources for borrowers including Borrowbox access to ebooks, and audio books.
Additionally the library runs community driven programs, lego building and coding clubs for school kids, escape room and research assistance for adults, songs and story time for toddlers to name a few.
WiFi, printing, and web browsing services also available.
In summary the library is well resourced and has great staff to assist with any inquiries you may have.
Impressive modern regional library. Friendly helpful staff, WiFi available. Short distance from visitor information centre.
