Fantastic service. They made hosting a large party so easy. Great recommendations for what equipment I might need and other accessories. Really flexible with last minute changes. Set up and take down completely fuss free.

Faulty equipment that damaged my property. No solution offered. No refund given.
I enquired about gurney hire and was told that they could provide but it required a service first due at the end of the week. I followed up Thursday and Friday and was told on Friday midday that it was serviced and to collect in a couple of hours. I presented, paid the $120 hire fee, and was shown how to use and asked not the stop and start the machine and to not use an extension cord. On handling it there was oil on the bottom and I queried if it was leaking oil to which they answered no, it was not.
As it was near to sunset on Friday I could not use till the following day, Saturday. I used for the morning and it worked fine. On Sunday I was to use the whole day to complete my job. The gurney would not start. I moved to another powerpoint and again would not start. On moving the machine it left oil on the terracotta tiles I had gurneyed the day before. I had not stop and started the machine, nor used an extension cord as instructed.
On Monday I returned at 9am, as instructed on Friday, and explained that the machine would not start on Sunday. I was told they would look at it. I asked if I could have a replacement gurney on the Friday. They said they could give me the same one to which I said, no, I wanted a replacement as it would not start. They said they would call me. I was not called and phoned on Thursday to enquire what was happening. They were extremely rude insisting there was nothing wrong with the machine. I asked for a refund to which he shouted at me that he was not giving me a refund. I had mentioned that the machine had left oil on my tiles and had taken a photo (see below). He said to me to use products to remove the oil.
So I have paid $120, lost more than a week of time, not been able to complete my job, and their equipment has damaged my property plus have been shouted at by the staff and offered no solution.
Do not use this place!

Unfortunately we had to use Oliver Hire as we were part of a larger group function.
Richard seemed lazy and unhelpful and he did not adequately answer simple questions nor reply to one email at all.
We had put so much effort into this event and to see that what we ordered was not delivered was very disappointing all round. Quality was poor also.
Not recommended.

Incredibly rude and unprofessional staff. Was super excited to rent a chocolate fountain, but when I asked questions about the machine to make sure I don’t ruin it, the old lady on the phone started getting annoyed and asked if I had OCD (What?). After that when I picked up the machine she made incredibly childish mocking comments on my family name. Wish I could give 0 stars for this company. I really didn’t want to write this, but PLEASE spare yourselves and find a hire company with competent customer service.

I was pleased with the marquee, the set up and removal however not pleased with the short notice the day before our party, that 2 gas heaters booked 10 days previously, were not available. I was unable to hire elsewhere so forced to arrange for purchase and assembly of gas heater.

When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the company representative, I was shocked to be addressed very rudely with a swear word uttered and i was hung up on.
I would also point out that the company is closed on Saturday so if there is a problem with the equipment provided there is no point of contact.
I will not use this company again.

We wanted to do a big shoutout to Oliver Hire! We recently hired a marquee for our daughter's birthday at the last minute due to bad weather predicted and had such great friendly service where nothing was a problem. Great party hire service for my event in Newport. The marquee we rented looked great and our guests loved the glow furniture.

thanks ever so much for helping us with my wifes birthday party. Everything was simple through you guys, the tables, chairs and cloths were all as described and we had a wonderful time.
I'll need a marquee in January for an Australia Day BBQ and will definitely be in touch to sort that out. I can definitely recommend you to anyone needing stuff for a party.

I've used Oliver Hire twice now for my functions.amazing and they even suggested other options that I hadn't thought of.you made my daughters 10th birthday and all her friends talk about it non stop plus you made my 40th party the most amazing beautiful party ever.so efficient, cost effective and helpful

Inconsistent requirements for hire making it difficult to hire the equipment in the first place, very poor condition of equipment (if/when you can get it), extremely poor service and rude. Never again will I take the risk of going back here.

Olivers Hire is crap. They have continually dissappointed. They never get the order right, always delivering the wrong items and they don't care about helping you when it all goes wrong.
Organising a community cricket presentation in Mosman recently and they failed to deliver the cordial tube, when I rang up the owner of the company Tim Oliver told me over the phone that 'he doesn't care! '
Their products are as cheap as their service.

Don't use Olivers Hire!

I thought we were just hiring a few items from Oliver Hire and in a city where everything is paid for, it was such a pleasant surprise to have people that genuinely wanted to help and to make sure our wedding ran seamlessly. Sue and Richard gave us great recommendations on how to best store all of our beverages and liased with our caterer to make sure we had accounted for the correct number of glasses, linen and other bits and pieces. They called us up to run through everything several times off their own accord and my hundred changes were never too much trouble. When we arrived to load the gear into the truck, they helped us to pack everything in and same on return, they were there helping to offload everything. Their experience and guidance saved us from many glitches as first time wedding organisers! We are so greatful for all of the help they provided to us and we couldn't thank them enough! Especially for our epic smoke machine which was a big hit! Whit and Fran
