Odeon Cinema reviews
20 Is this the nicest cinema to go to? No.
But does it hit my nostalgia, and transport me back to a simpler time when I was 6 years old? Heck yes!
This place is an institution of Hornsby, with good prices especially on the snacks compared with Event or Hoyts, and surprisingly decent seats which is something I never thought I’d have a care for.
Old school movies. No booking a seat, just turn up and choose where you want to be. Far less expensive than the alternatives. Once your involved in a movie, arm deep in popcorn, you probably won't care that the seat isn't quite as comfy.
Looking for an experience with past theatre venues then you cannot go past this fabulous place
It was good experience we went there after long time we felt nice nostalgic people should visit such single screen cinemas once in a while to provide businesses to support them financially, was good trip.
Just love the Odeon at Hornsby, classic vintage style. No crowds, no queues, sit where you like. Technically speaking, it is up there with the new cinemas. An experience not to be missed.
I love the retro and intimate feel of the cinema. Even the slightly musty smell of the ageing outfit is quite pleasant. The waiting room and the cinema itself are also always spotless. It's never crowded so you can roll in anytime and still get a good seat. Tickets are cheaper than the bigger chains and the manager is always lovely.
Cheaper tickets than the big dogs, comfy seats, big screen, certified Dolby 7.1 surround sound, choc tops, old skool vibe, digital and 35mm projectors. Get out and support your local independent cinema
Thank you for showing Xanadu on the weekend. I'll forgive you for turning the lights on during the final scene if you show it again please! Always a great experience at the Odeon Hornsby.
I love the feel of this cinema, unlike the big chains you are spoken to and cared for as a person and the atmosphere is so romantic, like stepping back in to the 50's or 60's. Love it!
Step back in time, comfortable easy to use, parking at rear, close to coffee shops. Good sound system. Cheap seat Tuesday is good.
Fantastic local cinema, nice staff, vintage decor and very reasonable prices compared to Event down the road. Worth supporting for sure!
It has great modern surround sound, unallocated seating, cheap tickets and a nostalgic candy bar with all the necessities including a wide array of choc tops and memorabilia from the 50s and 60s.
High tech sight and sound, in a lovely, old, refurbished, vintage theatre with old-world charm and plush comfort. Mirror backed choc-top and lolly bar where you can enjoy a chat with other visitors. Lovely friendly, passionate staff. Theatre is always clean. The Odeon is always our first choice for every movie and we've also been to fundraiser movies for a cause held there which have a great atmosphere. Recently saw The Beatles - Get Back, by Peter Jackson which was fabulous. The Odeon need more good reviews and publicity logged - not enough people know about them - they need our support. Once you've been there you'll pick them over the big cinemas every time!
Great place to see any movie but need to test out your seats. Some feel like your sitting up straight for 2 hours while others have a bit more of an angle so you can enjoy the movie and not have a back ache! Old cinema but happy not to be in a crowd and the combo ticket is great value.
Old fashioned charm & ambience at this cosy, local cinema. Friendly staff and the tickets are cheaper than the "big chain" cinemas.
An authentic cinema experience. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, good screen visibility and sound quality. Highly recommended!
Great and cozy cinema. Excellent deal and value for money. Great decor and friendly staff. Conveniently located near the train station and shops. The only downside is the legroom.
Beautiful place, reasonably price, vintage vibe. Staff are nice. Will continue as a patron for as long as I live near by.
It's a great single screen cinema great late 30s art deco vibe. Apparently its the only single screen cinema left in Sydney.
Nice, quiet cinema. Squashed seating arrangement is unnecessary. Would be great to see spacious seating and a Gold-class-esque license.
