Oberon Dam reviews
22It's definitely worth a visit & l loved the fact you are able to walk across the top of the dam
WOW. Just amazing. So much water held back by concrete.
Loved the chlorine storage bunker. Such a cute windsock.
I stood at the base and imagined the dam cracking and water flowing towards the helpless townsfolk but superman reversed the earths rotation and saved us all. Lucky homelander didn't turn up.
Oberon is a nice little town. 3.5 thousand population. Pensioner's dream
Worth a trip.
It was cold but the dam was nice and full. I saw it over 10 years and it was no where near as full as today.
Wasn't too bad, it's a dam. No phone reception here even on Telstra. Usual dam things, a wall, a spillway, water, a steep walk up a hill to get to the wall. Plenty of car parking and toilets.
We were surprised how large the Oberon Dam was. It’s worth dropping in. To get to the top of the dam, head to the road on the right hand side to walk to the top. Much easier than walking up the steep hill like I did
Nice quiet part of the world. Can cook on electric BBQs with plenty of tables & seating with undercover area. Clean toilets
Very cool to be able to get up close and personal with the dam. An impressive structure indeed. Easy to get to from Oberon, plenty of parking, toilets and picnic areas available.
Nice little place in a town called Oberon. Not sure if you can camp there overnight, but a good place for a daytime picnic.
Good visit, ample parking. Flood gates open due to recent heavy rain. Good to see the dam full again.
Quite a good place to do a get together. Beautiful views and falling dam water. Drawback lots of houseflies be ready for it.
Great spot to see the dam and the lake on the other side. Has bathroom facilities and lots of bins
Amazing place. We were luck that there were clouds so it was pleasant weather. Some picnic areas with accessible toilets available. You can go all the way to the Dam. Amazing views from the top of the dam as well. Just bring your own food as there is nothing around. Also please don't litter and keep the place beautiful.
Oberon dam is a perfect location for a family day out or a quick break with refreshing waterside breeze.
Beautiful place for a day outing with friends and family. Picnic area available. Can see different views in winter and summer. Take around 3 hours from Sydney.
Great place in Oberon, in fact all places are nice around Oberon. However, in this park - BBQ area and spots need completely change or through clean! Sadly, it’s neither clean nor you’d feel to have bbq there. It’s rusty and insects around it, there’s a sitting area there and general amenities available. But wouldn’t recommend.
What a lovely place. I will visit again. Parking available for abt 7 or 8 cars. Place is ckean and well mIntained. Although toilets need some attention as the water pipes dont work. A must visit in colder months for fishing.
It is a nice and quiet place to relax, walk and picnic. People should clean electric BBQs, available in shelter, after use. Restrooms are available.
Lovely country town to visit with lots to see in the surrounding areas. Strolling through the main town I found a rock cake in one of the bakeries. The Oberon Dam is worth a visit, the Dam wall on Jenolan Street is sealed with a picnic area, however the other side of the dam The Reserve has a dirt road and only a small picnic area behind a fence & gate, nice view of the lake.
