Nulok Roofing recently replaced the entire roof of our heritage listed Federation waterfront apartment block.
The Owners Corporation was totally satisfied with every aspect of the service we received and with the work which was done.
The job was completed on time and on budget.
We used ceramic slates together with copper capping and valleys. We are all delighted with the resultant authentic appearance and also with the functionality of the modern materials and construction method.
The tradesmen were all polite, skilled, hard working and tidy.
As Chairman of the OC, I would have no hesitation in recommending Nulok to anyone who is interested in using their services.

The team did a good job on the roof replacement. It looks very good and joins are straight and neat across most of the roof, though there are some areas that are misaligned or crooked, so not quite as good as you see in the photos online. Excellent handling of waterproofing.this team is very serious about making sure the roof is waterproof and respond quickly in storms during the job. The gutter guard is an excellent addition and well installed too. And the most senior guy on the job was clearly experienced, serious about the quality of the job and communicated well.
The areas that could be better?
1. Safety. Lots of dropped tiles and other pieces from the roof (that could hurt someone underneath) and sharp items lying in the yard throughout the job (cleanup is only at end rather than throughout). The guys work at height and have only the two-rung barrier to catch them, so better than most roof builders though I was worried about the team all the time, with no tethers and very little sun protection.
2. The solar installation. Despite having an experienced solar advisor on the job - handling the inverters, batteries and second (larger) Sunpower array installation - the Nulok owner refused and was very angry when the advisor asked to set up the in-roof arrays to be efficient in winter (so that at least half the tiles worked in winter). The number of tiles meant two banks were interconnected and there was an efficient (and simple) way to do this while installing but they installed the one way they apparently do every job.so the tiles simply don't generate electricity for half the year as a result.
We concluded (in our opinion only) that Nulok are a roof tile company with solar tiles as a promotional tool and really are only interested in getting the roof on and don't much care about whether the cells are effective or not. So we don't recommend the solar tiles unless you get through (up front) the stubborn owner to connect them efficiently.
Overall, we're happy with the result.would like to see safety a higher priority and some solar expertise and thinking on the job.
