NSW TrainLink

I've taken many trips on Syd-Melb, Syd-Bris, Syd-Canberra train and it's always been a delightful experience. I love trains which helps. The crew always try to deliver courteous, friendly professional service. The trains are clean and well-aired, they hate being late due to trackwork or other obstacles viz last year copper was stolen from a signal box outside Broadmeadow VIC. Great experiences all round. Thank you to the country rail teams.

Cool place to have a connection. Of course early mornings have limited services available.

The website is a bit confusing which made it hard to do what I had to do but other than that it all worked great

Went on a little journey through the city centre yesterday and I might say it was my first time on a a train like this but very clean, little noise and wheel chair accessible. You will be satisfied. A heads up It might get a busy during peak times and weekend.

The staff excel in excellent customer service. Professional, upbeat and extremely helpful.
Unfortunately the food is terrible I tend bring my own.

TrainLink has cancelled most of my trains this year and replaced them with coaches. Not OK for the long haul trip or the price. Notification was too last minute to book something else.

Another pleasant and comfortable trip on the XPT from Melbourne to Albury. Excellent staff, great selection from the buffet and arriving into Albury 10 minutes early.

Sydney trains gives troubles in most difficult times. This morning trains heading to leppington changed its course at lidcombe to regents parks without notifying earlier. I was late for work because of this.
Need to book a Uber every time

Needed to get to my embassy in Canberra with very limited time, but what's the point of planning ahead if the night before your trip is changed to a bus (because surprise, it has just been decided that the tracks need maintenance on a regular Monday) and being all the trains delayed you're still told by the staff that "you were going to be late anyway".

Well, I wouldn't been late if the city services were running properly in the first place for me to get to Central! I know it's not the staff's fault, specially the lady who seemed to be the manager. She was very efficient and demonstrated leadership. I guess she does her best, but I'm not sorry about being so loud when I got there and told them how frustrated I was about the general situation.

Thanks for the refund, but never trusting in this rubbish service again.

I am at Ballina on the far Nth Coast of NSW. To catch a train we have to get a bus or cab to Lismore, (train link provide a service 3 days a week) then catch another bus from the disused Lismore Station to Casino Railway station to connect with a train. At least Twice inside 9mnths the train to Sydney has been cancelled at Casino & only run from Grafton. Notice of the cancellation on each occasion was given 24 hrs prior to departure. Each time there were problems with the arranged buses which I believe were ordered from Qld. They are not on daylight saving time & once turned up at 7pm Qld time, (8pm NSW time) which left passengers waiting on Casino station for over an hour & a half just sitting there in the dark. Meantime the staff on the station just went home. There are no shops in the immediate area so no food was available then or at anytime at that station. The more recent occasion 2 buses left Casino carrying passengers to Grafton to link up. Only 1 bus made it. The other apparently broke down & luggage & passengers missed the connect. (Let me add here that these isolated country stops are not the safest places to be sitting around on your own in the dark.)
The train carriages themselves are old & tired. Worn carpet, dirty walls, toilets not always working, & generally are just badly in need of an update. More like 3rd world designs. (they appear to be over 30-40 yrs old) The trip to Sydney takes 12 hrs & even in a sleeper, it is a long, noisy experience. The staff are generally friendly & helpful.
We badly need better train link services in country areas even if its local rail services to connect with the main lines. The train lines are there, as are the stations but all are closed off & disused. The 100's of thousand of residents & tourists in the Nth Coast region would all benefit (as would business & industry) if inter connection was made available.
We are going backwards not forward.

I went to get my bags put in storage for the day but Micheal was very rude when I first came into the office Micheal was stood there doing nothing it was a group of people including myself getting off the Melbourne train going to Brisbane we had a 8 hour wait so wanted to check my bags in safely Micheal didn't want to serve me even though I was second in the store and the lady was already dealing with the first customer he kept shouting and was just generally being rude, he didn't check my bags in or didn't even weight them he just said naa they look to heavy shouts next

Sensational Public Service & cheap, compared to other States. Happy Journey over the Xmas Break

I boarded the Melbourne bound xpt at Campbelltown. Travelwd 1st class to Albury, an all round good experience

I booked a return seat for Dubbo 2wks ago on the XPT from Broadmeadow The Lady was just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I'm on a walker and use a stick I have back and knees problems and she got me a seat with extra room arranged for a ramp on and off train as well as having my suitcase put on train I DNT have to worry about a thing and she also booked the same seat on my return trip. So so caring and helpful. Warm Regards Jan Scullard.

Be warned. I had to go to Sydney unexpectedly. Bookings closed an hour before departure and I had to call.

Very efficient service between Wangaratta and Broadmeadows, which is actually quicker than driving. Great way for Wangaratta people to access the airport or northern suburbs of Melbourne.

NSW trains E unexpectedly comfortable and efficient. Unexpected because they are inexpensive and relaxing. Great vision out the windows of the countryside and particularly good crew.

Good value quick service
Need to liaise with airport for luggage rules so that they correspond eg: plane allows 23kg train 20kg so problems can occur.

Traveling by train is a different feeling. Had a sleeping under dingdong dingdong, watched outside from windows, most people have a such experience from train, is special.

We traveled to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Golden Coast used NSW Trainlink. Maybe spent long time, or get backpain when sit there half day, but these are still a wonderful trips we enjoyed, is unique.

Amazing service. Especially Scott (with two t's) who was exceptionally nice and proffessional with alot of charm. He gave us a heads up when we were closing in on our destination.

Also want to mention the nice fella who was driving the bus to Port Macquarie, unfortunately I didn't catch his name but he was also proffessional with alot of charm.
