NRMA Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park reviews
68My daughter and 2 grandchildren and myself were very excited to see each other and have a mini break as we don’t see each other very much as we live along distance apart, sadly when we got to the park the cabin we had booked was the bunker one, little did I know that is ALL IT IS! No kitchen, no chair, NO KETTLE, NO CUPS, NO MINI FRIDGE NOTHING! For the price it seriously was disgusting, I have stayed at many caravan parks and this has never happened before. Really disappointing and the toilet smelt like a truck stop. We also had a punch up fight outside our cabin at night, no security and felt unsafe. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, VERY SLACK ACCOMMODATION!
Camped on a powered tent site mid November. The campsite is superbly run. Toilet and shower facilities are well maintained and kept clean. Kids splash park was a hit. Courtesy 12pm check out available if needed and a half day rate of $40 if you wanna start on until 5.30pm.
The only downfall was we were canoe right at the very back of the camp ground and the free WiFi did not work there. The road was also on the other side of the fence so we could hear all the cars drive by well past midnight and the early hours of the morning.
If you don't wanna cook there are two cafes at the entrances and a coffee/ light snack food caravan on site.
We have already booked our next stay there.
Lovely campsite close to the ocean and a lake. Eventhough your very close to the city, its very quiet. Set up pretty big so lots of space. But that might have been the current occupancy.
Annebelle from the frontdesk was very friendly and helpful when extending our stay with 2 nights.
Would come back
This is a hidden gem of a camp ground. Nearby to beautiful narrabeen beach.
Ensuite caravan site was great for the family.
There is a great cafe nearby and also a food truck on-site with great coffee.
Great park. 2 year old loves the water park. Needs bouncy pillow for kids. Great location on the beach and nice cafes walking distance.
Very nice place.you should definitely come here in your holidays and spend some great time! You might get lucky and be able to enjoy the amazing magic show if that's happening when you are visiting.
Love this park. So nicely maintained, everything was nice and tidy. Lots of camp kitchens and the facilities.
Less than a star.
1- Dirty room with terribly squeaky beds
2- Not trained staff or security guards as they don't know how to handle a situation or a crowd
3- No proper events management with lack of available staff at events time
4- No sense of security with no CCTV cameras installed inside closed rooms or open spaces. You're on your own so get ready for the worst
5- Permission of alcohol consumption during a children's activity
6- We had an incident during our stay and the park management did their best to hide the incident traces!
I wouldn't even think of going there ever again and definitely can't recommend.
We've often used nrma parks for family holidays over the years. But I'm celebrating my 8th wedding anniversary in late January and my parents offered to take the kids for a weekend so we could stay somewhere nice just the two of us. I wanted to stay at Lakeside because I just started working in the area and wanted to explore. Also I thought caravan parks were for everyone to enjoy. But the website wouldn't let me book 2 nights it just said contact us. It would let me book however, if I selected 3 nights. I popped in to their office to ask them about it. First the person behind the desk said it would be full. (Without checking anything) Then when I told her the website would let me book 3 nights she said there was a 5 night minimum stay for that period. I guess she wanted to make it crystal clear just how unwelcome we are. Thanks for ruining the nrma experience for us for good.
Served a purpose. Great location close to beach and ON the lake. Security guard had said there were some recent issues near Ocean St and he stayed just beside our camper for hours.
We had no issues thanks to his awareness-presence.
Spent a lovely weekend at the caravan park (campsite) with mates - facilities were great, and were cleaned regularly - and the caravan park was close to coffee shops and restaurants for a catering-free holiday - I only travelled 9.7km from Terrey Hills to get to the caravan park but it felt like I was on holiday.
Worst holiday experience the bunk house was unmaintained and not clean.
Staff are very rude and unprofessional.
Really disappointed in our stay. I booked 2 nights on an unpowered site for our van ($90). We were booking this solely for the amenities as we hadn’t had showers in a couple days after being out bush. The staff are quite friendly but the amenities and cleanliness is some of the worst I’ve seen. Neither the women’s or men’s amenities had hot water and both were quite disgusting with clothes lying around and mud (at least I hoped it was mud) in every cubicle. My partner went to try and shower again this morning but couldn’t even get into the amenities due to the smell. All in all I paid near $100 for 2 days of parking.not happy.
Best and only park on the north shore. But great park, plenty of bird life, easy access to shops etc. Quiet
Highly recommend.
A nice short walk to get food, also an outside free seaside pool to use unlike the one in Bondi beach
We had a great day: night here. Friendly staff very clean facilities and in a great location. Good size camp spots that were very easy to access. Surrounded by water, a great lagoon and Surf beach. I was surprised by previous reviews as we found this much better.
Great location, be popular in summer! Proximity to beach/lake A1! Staff were accomodating. Villas needed a little refresh but were spacious and did the job. If booking the collaroy be weary of the thin walls of neighbouring guests. Overall great value for money staying as an nrma member.
The location is great and the amenities would lead to the belief that this is a child friendly park. I have reached out in every avenue I can find to complain about my visit here this time. First of all, while my three year old was playing in the water splash park the golf cart man came over to inspect that she was wearing a swim nappy. Now, he doesn't know that she isn't potty trained, but in any case, he didn't come talk to me. He went and crouched down to inspect her genital region himself. When I yelled at him, he didn't even apologise, he just started screaming at me that she needed a swim nappy. She was wearing one under her swim suit.as would be expected. I dont know what he said to her because I was out of ear shot standing on the outer edge of the water park, but its completely inappropriate for him to approach her at all. Again, I've complained on deaf ears SEVERAL times. Has this man even been background checked to work around children. He seemed to be around all the time. You never feel like you aren't being watched.
After that event, there was a fight right near our tent in the middle of the night. Two men started screaming, cursing and threatening eachother and this went on for over 30 minutes. If they have people watching you all day, why was there nobody there to intervene or bring in the authorities? I felt so unsafe and I never got my kids to sleep afterwards. I won't be returning, and I'll recommend that nobody I know does either.
The outdoor is beautiful. Our room was filthy. Stunk of mould and smoke. Had mould all over the shower. Waste of money
I’ve stayed here often over several years and while the park location is excellent, there is still sud-standard WIFI which is hit and miss. Arrived today and can’t even access the site! Any other time the signal is so weak it continually drops out. You’d think in this day and age, some money could be spent to make access to a reliable and strong WIFI signal!
I note the park advertises WIFI however this sub-standard WIFI service can hardly be regarded as suitable and acceptable service!
