NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Resort reviews
77 We loved our one week stay right up to and including Christmas. The sites are massive and green, the wildlife was amazing, and the beach location glorious.
My only gripe was with management - we had a few issues of short tempered or useless staff.
On arrival, there was confusion about the site and number of people staying (we had an extra in a tent). This had been conveyed multiple times, and paid for. But on arrival there was no record for it and the reception staff were downright rude and intolerant. They subsequently found the notes to them advising of the additional person, and advised we were fine, but the attitude was certainly not appreciated.
We also had issues watching a screening of a movie one night we were there. My five year old was beyond excited to watch elf ahead of Christmas. But the screening was ruined by loud horrible kids who were literally running around and through groups, jumping and yelling. We told the offending kids multiple times to shut it, and advised staff at the park, but got a wet fish answer that it 'wasn't their concern'. A night manager was apparently sent but nothing was done. We could barely hear a thing and the night was ruined for my son. Other families left. This was profoundly disappointing. I expect more when an event is run - someone from the park should be responsible, on site, and keeping badly behaved patrons in check.
Great family resort. Loads of activities. Everything is very central. We stayed in a cabin which had everything we needed. Clean. Comfie bed. It was a wheelchair access unit, so I think that made the third bedroom very small for the three grandchildren
Great kid friendly park, loads to do, quick walk to beach, lots of kangaroos n ducks.
Huge van sites, impeccably clean amenities blocks
The plus was that it was a great spot for the kids.
However.
They knew there was 3 adults and 2 children checking in.
They assign us a villa that "sleeps 5".
Not only did my adult daughter have to sleep on a single sofa but she had to make the bed herself.
And it's not the quiet tranquil retreat one is lead to believe it is. The traffic noise from the freeway is dreadful.
Also anyone thinking they can take their kids there for a holiday and still manage to get some online work done? Forget it!
There is absolutely no service in this park.
Not even their guest wifi has service.
I hope this review about the Wi-Fi saves another person the frustration and aggravation that we've just experienced.
Very nice campsite. We had booked a cabin. Everything on site and very clean when we arrived.
Stayed in our caravan, great little resort, lots of things for kids to do, pool, kids club during school holidays, outdoor movies at night to name a few. Friendly stuff.
Great location on the beach good size sites with lots room resort facilities great for kids heaps food options will definitely come again.
Good spot. Lots of green grass sites with concrete blocks for the van, car and awning. The blocks are angled so backing in is easier.
Well, this was a great experience. We stayed in our camper on a powered pitch, and having your dinner on and evening with the kangaroos just roaming about the site was a great way to connect with nature.the facilities are clean and nice. It's a very relaxed and chilled camp site. It's so perfect for an out of the way getaway.
We stayed at quite a few NRMA camp sites, but this one has been the best so far! Very large sites that are very well maintained, very clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff at reception and a great activities team. The kids had so many things to choose from: activities from 9am till late, pool, slides, jumping cushion, go-karts, golf or pump track! The cafe serves nice breakfast, lunches and dinners! And above all the camping is situated in a beautiful part of the world, you can walk to the beach and great little towns and hinterland make it a perfect holiday! Thank you team at Darlington Beach!
I would give 5 stars if I was caravanning. The park is big, the sites are well spread apart, the facilities are well maintained and clean. The beach is a short stroll away, and the kangaroos are gorgeous. Pool nice and clean too.
The park is 5 stars for kids. Kids clubs, water slides, bmx track, archery and heaps of other stuff.
The cafe is 5 stars too. Very friendly people, very nice food and coffee.
The reason I reduced the total stars was because of the cabin. Seemed clean, but had a bad musty/mould smell.
Found this park on the fly looking for a one nighter. Stopped in for another night on our way home. Absolutely loved it Will be planning on coming back for sure My kids fell in love with the kangaroos, especially number 408. They named her Jessica My daughter was very upset when we were leaving because she couldn't find her to say goodbye?
We've just arrived home after an awesome weekend away and can not fault anything. Staff are friendly, food is delicious from the on-site Cafe and the pool and activities are awesome if you are bored at this park then you are doing something wrong. Thank you Darlington Beach Holiday Park
The best holiday destination for family's. Brilliant facilities great staff will be back over & over
What a brilliant park for families, close to beach and soooo many things for the kids to do. You could stay a month and not need to leave. We stayed in a cabin and had everything you could need and was very clean. Highly recommend.
Great place to take the family. Park is a great size and really well maintained. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
12Feb2023: Hubby and I recently stayed 3 nights with a park resident and had 2 meals in the Cafe while there; lunch (barra) and breakfast. Both meals were delicious (for all 3 of us), service was great and a nice atmosphere. I can recommend.
The beach is just stunning, just a short walk away. Beautiful place.
Lovely big park, large sites. The pools were good. Kids had a lot of fun. Restaurant was not expensive and the food was yummy.
We always have our annual holiday camping at Darlo - this has been a tradition for 10 years. So great for the grandchildren, making new friends and amazing memories.
Great place to stay, heaps of events and things to do all around the park.
Stay in Villa's would totally recommend as they are well appointed (bunk rooms could use a fan)
Well maintained amenities and play areas (Jumping Pillow has NO shade. Be careful on sunny days).
