Took my car in for a rego inspection and needed 2 new tyres. However noticed the next morning one of them was put on the wrong way (very obviously as it said inside on the outside). I understand mistakes happen but it was the customer service when I called about the problem was terrible. I don’t think they believed me and then said they were too busy to fix the problem on the next day when I was free. So I had to give up a few hours of work today to get there in time before the mechanics left for the day. Bad service and either unskilled over overworked mechanics. Don’t go here

I would not recommend going to this mechanic. I feel as though I’ve been overcharged for services, other things were not completed as stated on the report which led to mistrust. Couldn’t tell me why certain items were replaced at the time of notifying me of work that needed to be done over the phone. Would not recommend this mechanic for women - they are not women friendly, their customer service will be condescending and infantilising when asked questions or probed for information. You will be told that your brother is welcome to phone them to discuss.

Charged me $400 for a car door handle so my car could pass rego even though the existing one was still functioning and secure but missing a plastic clip on the inside. When I was quoted this amount it was also stated that the $18 globe replacement was "the least of my problems" and that the car door handle would cost me $400, unpainted. If I want it painted I would need to go back to them and let them have my car for 2 days.
$320 for 2 tyres, and $40 for a wheel alignment that isn't even aligned properly. The car still veers right.
The tyres I expected, however the inspector and all the rest of the team were absolute clowns when it came to what should have been a very simple transaction. I have spent lot of years with Rally car mechanics and I honestly do not know why I took my car to this joint. The motorserve at Strathfield, which I used last time were a thousand times better than here. If you are a woman, take warning that they don't do anything to break the stereotype of trying to rip you off because you probably don't know any better. They should have refunded the $200 service fee on the $50 part they charged me $200 for. Ask them to show you the receipt for what they paid for the parts and what the mark up is they are charging you.
$902 in the end after the pittance of a discount for being an NRMA member. Definitely not the H-E-L-P we would expect.
Simply price gouging and ruining my day. Will never be going back here.

As always, the service and staff are the best, very professional and friendly. I've been getting my car serviced there every six months for years, it's a no hassle way to make sure my old car is kept safe and reliable. The staff let me know by phone what needs to be done at this service and what can wait until the next, if need be. I pick it up later and it goes like a dream. Thanks, Nick.

My experienced every times were very welcomed! Every workers were great at the services with me and I loved how my accidents gets heard, everyone were very willing to help me without being asked, like seeing me shifting around several trips at my things from my damaged car to the courtesy car which was so lovely!
I felt so relaxed just by seated at the couch with the hot chocolates from the coffee machine.
Over all each time my matter gets solved professionally, very quick and efficient at all my paperworks so that no times get wasted while getting my car assessed and when at my collection after the repaired!
Best of all, after the cleaning at my family car, it felt like a brand new car again!
I’d highly recommended to get a repaired with Motorserves in a Marrickville!
May God blessed every workers there and hope the businesses will continue to growing well!

Fantastic service by these guys. NRMA road service came to me when I broke down organised the tow. Motorserve accepted my car at short notice and had it back to me in 24hrs. Seamless and stress free. Can't thank them enough.

I was recommended to go here by a friend with regards to my air con not working. I already had left my car with a well known local mechanic who has looked after my car but all hesaid was there was no issue as it was fully gased and didn't seem bothered, thus why I asked around and was directed here. Before booking the car in I did some research about possible issues with the air-conditioning and the costs involved. I can only say that my experience was nothing short of honest and professional. Before going ahead with the work I was contacted and informed of what the issue was and a quote. The problem, was what I thought and the quote was exactly where it should be. Well done guy's and thank your for the honesty, professionalism. I have to say that some of the negative comments have come from those who just love a winge instead of realising that they are not experienced mechanics but know the ins and outs of a mechanics debth of knowledge
I will recommend this business. PS. I have never been here before, have no association with anyone who works here and have given an honest review

I'm really disappointed with the changes in how this business is now run. This was my trusted go to mechanic who used to have honest staff with great customer service. Now its just another place that looks for ways ripped you off. Went in for a rego check and walked out with a bill for $628, and that was after my apparent NRMA discount. Going overseas for a couple of weeks so I did not have time to shop around for tyres, which apparently needed replacing or I couldn't get my pink slip. When I went online afterwards I found the same tyres quoted at up to $70 (each) cheaper than what they charged me.

They are the most useless company I have ever met in my life I took the car in to get it fixed and they did every easy way they could think of. I do not recommend anyone to have their car repaired at this company

AVOID AT ALL COST for any maintenance or rego checks.

Brought my well maintained, regularly serviced car in for a rego inspection as my usual mechanic was closed in the lead-up to the holiday period. Got a call saying my car required $3000 worth of repairs and at least $1800 worth of repairs TODAY to be able to pass rego inspection. The person on the phone quoted a myriad of things including broken lights, oil spills etc which I was very dubious about given my car is very well maintained.

I told them that I won't be able to go ahead with the repairs as I sensed some foul-play and picked up the car that afternoon. Funnily enough, the guy only put a couple of the things he told me on the phone on the official paper for why he failed me on the inspection which was the first red-flag. Clearly if all the issues he had mentioned were vital in passing inspection registration, he would have noted all of them on the report, which he didn't - meaning a good amount of them were made-up.

Following this visit, I found another mechanic who luckily was open to inspect my car who passed me without any issues and also serviced it, saying it's in great shape.

This sort of practice has unfortunately become more common and as more recent reviews of this business indicate, it seems like they are engaging in overcharging and overservicing. I will likely be putting in a complaint with the ACCC as well.

Avoid at all cost.

Service used to be awesome but not anymore. No wash and vacuum this last time and although I only brought the car in for a regular service, they convinced me to do a rego/pink slip as the service was within 6 months of rego due. So I agreed. The pink failed 2 tyres and I was given a white slip to get the tyres fixed before passing. When I called to "bring it back in and we'll pass it when we see the tyres on the car ", they informed me that bwcuase it had been more than 14days since the white slip, I'd have to leave the car there AGAIN and they would have to charge me for another pink slip. Never again. I have had 2 cars with these people in full care for over 10 years. You just lost my business over a $43 pink slip any mechanic can do.and the one ive just contacted, within 10 metres of my house, was happy to do it for free as i had the initial slip.

Until last year I'd been a customer of Motorserve for more than a decade. The service was consistently great. However, since the change of ownership it's clear the service centres have been told to increase revenue. In 2021 I was again charged for the same 'extras' as in 2020 (the new service amounted to $1,100 in both years). Overservicing is clearly now an issue.

Despite complaining at the front desk, and in a follow-up survey, they clearly don't care any more. This year I switched to MyCar - and the service cost returned to normal ($400 for the same car). Sorry Motorserve but you've lost me as a customer.

Additional comments following Ratish's response: Unfortunately Motorserve's response to mine is not correct. The 2021 additional costs were maintenance add-ons, not related to my vehicle's servicing schedule. These were exactly the same maintenance add-ons as charged in 2020, despite me requesting that Motorserve not repeat these unnecessary add-ons in my 2021 service. MyCar did not add these superfluous charges in 2022.

Visiting Sydney from Brisbane (my vehicle has QLD rego) - had my car towed to this NRMA scammer as one of the ball joints of the vehicle came out while i was travelling <20km/h over a speedbump.

They quoted me $4k worth of repairing (including the steering rack, control arm, drive shaft, brake line the list goes on) and refused to work on the car when i suggested only to repair some part of the car + wheel alignment. Anyone mechanic who has some sort of knowledge about cars know it does not cost $4k to fix from the photo.

Hired another mobile mechanic who inspected the car and replaced the ball joint (not even the boot kit needed replacing) because nothing was bent nor the brake line was leaking for a total cost of $600.

Just because it's a vehicle from another state, doesn't mean you could scam a customer in such manner.

We took our vehicle back today for a minor issue with an indicator due to a past accident that was repaired by this NRMA branch. I spoke to the lovely Leona on the phone days earlier, she made a note of it and told us to come in when we could.

We popped in today and we’re greeted with lovely people. A young man went out of his way to offer us beverages (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name but thank you just the same) while we waited. Fast efficient and friendly customer service.

Thank you and I highly recommend them if you have a bingle that needs fixing.
