Novotel Wollongong Northbeach reviews
70This place is in need of upgrades, it’s starting to get worn out. Location is great though
The Novotel Wollongong is right on the beach the rooms are comfy and clean and the staff are amazing.just a quick little getaway, enjoy the pool, spa, bar and breakfast buffet. The staff working on the buffet had a tough gig as the hotel was full and it was very busy but they did a wonderful job.
Staff were very friendly. Delivered a complimentary bottle of bubbly to our room as we were celebrating our anniversary. Room was clean and spacious.
Stayed at the hotel for a conference. Room was comfortable and had everything i needed. Was also a great view looking out over the beach.
Stayed 3 nights.
First night music from I don't know where was so loud it was difficult to sleep - stopped at 12.30am. The next night we were warned there was a wedding and there would be noise - OK - understood - but the noise was absolutely CRAZY - just over the top loud. Impossible to sleep - stopped at 10.45pm.
The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever stayed in.
NOT HAPPY!
Would be a solid 4-star if not for the beds. I don’t mind a soft bed, but it needs to be supportive. This was like sleeping in a hammock, sunk in the middle with feet and head elevated. Very uncomfortable and didn’t sleep well at all. Breakfast is nice. Staff were nice. Some of the bars/facilities close before advertised. There is no mini bar - ordering minibar via room service defeats the purpose - seems like a win for the hotel, not the guest.
We stayed in the ocean view room and it was great, a large room and very clean. The bed was so comfortable. The North Bar has a wonderful setting and the staff were really lovely. The only thing that let our stay down was the breakfast buffet which was pretty average. Bain Marie food was just warm if not cold and kept running out, however it must be noted that they did have a full house that morning.
A midweek Luxury Escape package. Check in was smooth, although $25 for parking per night was a surprise, so, after taking our luggage to our room we then parked outside on the streets. Hotel foyer and central North bar was impressive with a huge hanging diamond-shaped Chandelier. Cocktails (El Diabolo and Gentleman's Club), Breakfast, 15% of meals (we had the Jamaican lamb curry and the Signature Seafood) and a tray of Baked Delights included.
The location was lovely but the bed was very lumpy and the noise from the club downstairs could be heard from our room. Our room did not have a lounge chair and the bed was a double not a queen as described.
I would not recommend even my least favourite friends!
The ocean view room had a nice view. The room was clean but for over $500 for a night I would not bother
Disliked · The staff at reception didn’t even point us in the direction of the lift to our room. We wondered around until we found it. The room was supposed to have a seating area/lounge chair in which it didn’t and the noise at night from the beach club down stairs made it difficult to get a good night sleep until it closed at 12pm in which after that there was people shouting and beeping there car horns as they left. The bed was so lumpy and felt like you were rolling into the middle It was supposed to me a queen bed but was definitely a double and the staff could not move us as they were book out!
The new upgrades look amazing it's a shame they don't have Jackie the singer back it was great to sit and listen to her, have a meal and, a few drinks. There were alot off people and not enough experienced staff I am sure teething problems for the new set up.
Gave us the wrong room number as well as, rather annoyingly, you have to be a member of Accor hotels to access free wifi otherwise there is a charge.
I’ve never stayed at the Hotel but I’ve been there a few times for the seafood buffet which has always been really good.
The buffet has a great range and the food is always fresh.
The staff are always there giving great service so you don’t have to chase them like other venues.
Looking forward to going again soon.
Amazing coastal view from the balcony, superb beach access. We were spoilt with a bottle of sparkling wine for our anniversary, which was a lovely touch!
We enjoyed our 2 night stay in a top floor ocean view room with balcony.
We were warmly welcomed at reception and surprised with a bottle of bubbly in our room for our anniversary.
We loved the layout of our room and the bedding was wonderfully comfy.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed eating at the attached Palisades Kitchen and Bar.
Although the Novotel was undergoing a refurb it had no impact on our stay.
We’ll definitely be back to see the finished work
It is over priced and very poor beds and pillows uncomfortable they told us couldn't use pool because of and outside function and after parting with near 1600 hard earned dollars got hide to ask to pay 25 parking surprise d they didn't charge for air never be back
We stayed in a suite and WOW what a view! Booked online, very easy. Staff were very helpful and checkin was a breeze.went down to the beach bar called Pepe’s on the Beach, enjoyed a cocktail while looking out at the lovely beach. Had dinner at the Palisade restaurant.great food and cocktails.
The staff were fabulous and friendly, the room was spectacular and just the view was enough to take your breath away.
Could definitely get used to that view.
The amenities were great, the pool has been renovated and was great to go for a swim on such a hot day.
They deserve the 5/5 stars. Definitely recommend you stay there.
Awesome location, awesome food, staff asleep at the wheel. So much potential! Will go back just for the view. Hopefully new staff next time.
I cannot fault this place! From the service to the rooms, if I could give more then 5 stars I would!
Booking process was easy, and flexible.
The service staff upgraded us for our special occasion and it really was the perfect addition to our night, we were upgraded to the Studio Suite and to say stunning would not be enough! The views, incredible! The shower and bath.
We are already planning our trip back!
Thank you Novotel:)
Good hotel with no free wifi. Location is amazing you can enjoy the beach view. In house dinning options are limited.
