Northside Group Macarthur Clinic reviews
21Although I have left one star. This is only because I this site didn’t let me leave a review, without pressing a star. Absolutely the worst experience I have had with any company, or health service provider. The amount of appointments that didn’t happen almost match the number of appointments I cancelled, only to get a phone call from the psychiatrist asking why I wasn’t attending the appointment (I had previously cancelled). Ramsay MacArthur is an information black hole. Simple, but important, details just don’t seem to get passed on. Although the psychiatrist seemed reasonably competent, dealing with the lack of any kind of organisational skills from the reception/booking staff was absolutely infuriating. I have now asked the psychiatrist to send my case notes to my GP, so I can find another one that isn’t connected to this incompetent company. If you think that anger and frustration are detrimental to your mental health, avoid this company like the plague.
I have recently completed a clinical placement as a student nurse on unit 2. I truly enjoyed the nurturing and positive environment created by the unit manager Laura and staff. I feel like I have broadened my skills in communication and how to manage difficult situations. The food was amazing and the each team within the hospital has been so warm and welcoming.
The single worst experience I’ve had anywhere. I made an appointment for March, the doctor called out sick and my appointment was rebooked. This then happened three more times and they say they can’t get me in till September. Absolutely no help and an incredible lack for communication for staff as well.
Amazing facility beyond expectations staff are friendly and the food is amazing, you'll meet many people here, its very good in helping you get life back on track
I am extremely grateful for being referred to you by Campbelltown hospital. Dr Nepal properly diagnosed and treated me. I came in with post natal depression (on top of my PTSD and existing depression). I was given 12 rounds of ECT and the difference is night and day! Thank you so so so much Dr Nepal and the amazing team at Ramsay MacArthur. I've managed to get my life back and I've also made life long friends here. I love you all!
I only come back here because Dr Bisht is so amazing, but the receptionists make booking appointments and collecting prescriptions literal hell. They are unprofessional, unpleasant and condescending in every interaction I have had. For the first contact of mental health support the reception should definitely be more aware of the weight of their interaction w the clients and how they should be a support in getting care not a barrier.
This is a great hospital. The staff there were attentive and went above and beyond. The group program really helped me to understand why I felt the way I did and also taught me what I can do to help myself. It’s not just about giving you medication, it’s about empowering you. Thank you to all the staff, you do a really good job.
Northside Group Macarthur Clinic (NGMC) has been one of the most beneficial supports that I have received. Since I first stepped foot in the clinic 4 years ago, I have seen the tremendous changes in NGMC; from renovations to the building that added extra beds, to welcoming new staff, to dealing with a worldwide pandemic and thriving.
NGMC has allowed for me to extend my therapeutic relationships and supports and for that, I am grateful. The staff are always welcoming and happy to see you. The chefs cook amazing meals to which it relieves the stress of needing to cook for yourself. The allied health professionals have not only your mental health but overall health and life interests at heart and show this throughout your stay. The nurses who see and work with you day to day show empathy, kindness and support and they truly mean it. The housekeeping work efficiently to ensure that your stay at the clinic is clean, fresh and welcoming. And the therapeutic groups (art, gym, yoga, pet therapy) are often the highlights of the day.
The outpatient groups, especially Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) has changed my life for the better and I will never be able to thank NGMC enough for the help and hope they have given to me.
Emily Walz.
Shocking service for $20 THOUSAND dollars. Wrong medication protocols, they forget about giving you an orientation, accidentally miss pills and double dose others and would not allow me to lodge a formal complaint for 8 days. Would highly not recommend there’s no prompts for meds or meals they don’t check your bags so they were people here on ice and it took 8 days for them to still not chart my correct medications. Would not go back and not worth going even if it was free.
Wow, what an amazing place. Can honestly say that the staff in this hospital are the reason I am still here. The kindness and compassion shown to me was above and beyond. I can’t say thank you enough!
Do not see Dr. Abhishek Nagesh
I found this individual to lack basic interpersonal skills let alone a medical "bedside manner. " Never bothered to establish any rapport, only ever made eye contact with his clipboard and at no point felt like he treated me as a human. He also kept referring to me in third person as my sister was also in the room. Perhaps has a good theoretical knowledge of psychiatry however the lack of people skills acts a as genuine barrier to assisting anyone. At one point he even said he initially did not want to take me as a patient as most people with psychosis refuse treatment and its not worth his time. Can you imagine being told during your appointment! A nightmare.
Inefficient staff
Never fails to disappoint me. Two months ago they gave me an appointment. I took half day off from work n when I get there we wait for our appointment for 15 minutes. Then the staff informs that the appointment is cancelled because they could not find record of it. I showed them the card I was given with appointment date n time. No one knows how n who wrote the appointment. What a joke! This for a change.
Great staff and well above average food, Does not have a section for ptsd though and need to go to an external gym for exercise.
Unprofessional
I drive three hours to visit my partner when I get there at 8: 00 am they told me we can’t let you in
Till 12 pm
And they day before at the same time there wasn’t any problems
Confused
Northside hospital is such a fantastic facility. That I have ever had the privilege to stay at.
The staff were amazing. So caring & full of empathy. Excellent food.
I highly recommend this hospital.
I was a nursing student attending placement here and I must say that the staffing and facilities of the clinic were outstanding and far beyond the expectation of a mental health clinic.
My experience in the clinic has been very good. I've been here a few weeks, I'm from Canberra and have been more than happy to travel up.
Dr Rahul has been awesome very helpful and understanding.
The clinic has everything you need. The food is amazing, comfortable rooms, staff very caring and the groups I find helpful. I love keeping fit on the outside and find the gym here is great. I highly recommend this place for your recovery.
What is the difference between NMC and my apartment?
My apartment USED to have polaroids.
A family member of a FORMER patient
I COULD NOT come across anything more revolting than this
Sexual Harassment is accepted
They don't care about your safety
You get laughed at
Bullying and aggressiveness is accepted
Situations always favour the "sicker" patient not dealt with equally
I bet I am going to get sued for writing the truth
