Truely the most beautiful school for my daughter. The teachers know my child’s strengths and are working hard to get her the highest marks possible. She’s involved in the debating team, sports aerobics and sometimes stays back after school for study boost or extension English. There have been opportunities for her to participate in public speaking competitions and last year she won some money.
An idilic setting in Arcadia with plenty of space and fresh air. I highly recommend it.

Cool ref, never wondered that it would happen in Australia. Our team got unfairly treatment and the refs are deaf and blind. Most of the time we got foul the ref didn’t give the free throw, and especially when there was a large foul as loud as the kookaburra shouted. Also, when we didn’t foul the other team, they could still get free throws. Don’t come to this school and play for basketball competition, for soccer I think it won’t be much different

We joined Northholm Grammar in Primary some years ago. The School has always been recognised for being caring but over the past few years, the school has grown in strength and has become the most amazing learning environment. The school has now established a clear and strong identity - with no ambiguity about who they are and what they stand for. We love the consistency all the way through from Primary through to High school – something that was very much lacking in the past. Our kids are now in High School and they’ve had an excellent transition. We love the school – now more than ever before.

Northholm's HSC Ranking over the years

2016 - 234
2017 - 90 'We're amazing, we are an academic school now'
2018 - 308 'Ranking doesn't apply to our school, we're too small, one student's result can skew the numbers'
2019 - 114 *crickets*
2020 - 61 'We're amazing, we are an academic school now'

It's meaningless without consistency over the years.

Lazy teachers only perform to impress an oblivious new Principal.
High fees, no classroom resources or school facilities.
School of last resort for students asked to leave their previous school.

Poor leadership from the board. The Principal is on his own mission without any control from the board. The Principal talks like a politician and has no idea of how to run a school.
A great school gone downhill very quickly and turnover of staff a worry as well as a dropping roll as parents realize that the leadership is so poor.

EDIT: Someone from the admin department called me, threatening me to take down the review. My brother was still attending the school at the time and they mentioned it was unwise for me to leave the review up as I still had people attending the school.

The staff at Northholm are malicious, terrible people that would rather spend their time threatening people and trying to cover their behinds as opposed to just being good people and doing the right thing.

Original:

The school is currently under urgent redundancies because of a heavy reduction in enrolments and continues to lose staff and students.

This school is despicable and reflects cult-like leadership.

Northholm is an amazing school. It provides an education that is suited to individual needs. It’s a nurturing environment. The school is committed to improving each child, encouraging close relationships with fellow students. Loved the way the school communicated during the pandemic and adjusted events like graduation day being moved to Term 4 so parents could attend. We love the school.

Do not send your kids to this school. They have poor leadership, high schoolers who run the admin office like it is their own home and clinic. Students who have mental health issues like my own, are treated without care and support, often with other students worsening the situation. School doesnt follow its obligations of duty of care for students and make rules of their own. Do not waste your money, you get nothing in return of the fees that you are charged to send your child here. Many other good quality private schools in the area. Bad vibes and bad history at this school thats created a toxic teaching and education culture

This school is amazing! STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND NICE AND I HAVE LOVED HERE SINCE YEAR 3. I suppose the only bad side about this is because of how strict the sport uniform is other than that great people

I used to go here, I didnt learn much and I got bullied in my later years. I had to resort to self teaching my self many things. I really think this school needs help. Also still confused about the detention over the top button.

Very homophobic and transphobic. Actively refuses to hold any LGBT awareness days, or have any resources available to LGBT students, due to the Northholm ethos being against anything beyond white, cis-gendered and heteronormative bigotry.

Northholm has undergone major restructuring and is now being led by a marks mad dictator. I am glad I left when I did before the old principal buggered off for a year and the new one came in. If you want your children to be driven by marks, religion and self righteousness then by all means send them to this school because it’s not the small nurturing one they promise.
I am sad to see what this school has become and miss the amazing teachers who used to be there.

Northholm creates well rounded students with plenty of opportunities. We have been blessed to find this school with its wonderful community and beautiful grounds. The teachers are incredible, each knowing their students educational and emotional needs. The co-curricular activities offer is diverse including a fantastic Duke of Edinburgh program. The Agricultural facility, which is on many acres includes opportunities for students to interact with various farm experiences and animals.

I have so many stories about how awful this school was to me. My parents tried to convince me to leave early year 8, but I resisted as I had friends here and I already was convinced that I was useless and I was the problem. I was gifted, and Dux of my primary school but a bit of an odd kid I suppose. Once I became known as a problem kid I was relentlessly watched and punished for the slightest infractions. On one instance I was awarded an afternoon detention when an English teacher spotted me without my prestigious school blazer! She spotted me driving past my house after school as I jumped out of my Mum’s car and checked the mail. I can’t believe such an average school with a sub-average pedigree like Northholm Grammar could now, or ever take itself so seriously. I have clients who live within 200 metres of the school who are sending both of their children to Barker. People need to know.

This school is currently under urgent redundancies because of a heavy reduction in enrolments and continues to lose staff and students.

This school is despicable and reflects cult-like leadership. If anyone wants to hear about how this school mistreated many teachers, students, parents and stakeholders, I am more than willing to share my story.

My kids suffered so much in this school. Forget about the bullies, you pay for facilities and teachers that are not worth it. School environment is despicable. Re-think your decision joining here.
